Jewish Roots of Christian Liturgy and Their Current Presence in the Practice of Particular Catholic Communities

The aim of the thesis Jewish Roots of Christian Liturgy and Their Current Presence in the Practice of Particular Catholic Communities is to map the current state of research about Jewish roots of Christian liturgy using the available literature as the basis and show on the specific example of two Catholic communities (Community of The Beatitudes and The Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew Speaking Catholics) how they experience these Jewish roots and how it manifests in their liturgical practice. The work is divided into two steps: In the first part, current knowledge about Jewish sources from which the Christian liturgy drew and draws is summarized. The most important elements, types and forms of Jewish prayers are described, and then it is described which parts of the Christian liturgy are based on which types and forms of prayers. In the second part, the history of the establishment of the Beatitudes Community and the Hebrew Parish is described and their liturgical practice is analyzed with a focus on their motivations for emphasis of the Jewish roots, the development of this practice and its specifics, and their relation to the original historical basis points. Modular System for Reporting and Managing Faults in Town

The aim of this bachelor thesis is designing and creating system for reporting and managing issues in towns. The system demonstrates options how to make process of reporting and managing issues more effective thanks to the modern technologies and citizen involvement. The system consists of mobile application, web administration and application server. After getting familiar with the Android application development system, the author of this thesis conducted a research of existing solutions and also analysis of potential customers opinion. Afterwards, the system specification was created. The system was designed and consequently implemented according to the specificiation of the system. The implementation was followed by system testing on group of users who then made its evaluation.

Mgr. et Mgr. Adam SÝKORA: Missale Posoniense I. - diplomatic edition (rigorous thesis), Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Catholic Theology, 2011. In the present thesis the author provides a diplomatic edition of one of the oldest collegial missals of Bratislava Chapter House: Missale Posoniense I. It is a central source of European significance, which is pattern normative and representative in relation to the similar landmarks (eg Missale Posoniense A, B, C, II., III., IV.), and which was used in the Bratislava Chapter House before 1341st. The text of this Missal was previously published only in facsimile form, which bears the technical limitations of the period of its creation. Since that time, other foils have been discovered that have not been published at all. Professional public now has the text, with which can work effectively, moreover, it paves the way for a critical edition of the full text of the preserved parts, which the author intends to publish as dissertation. Thesis presents diocesan clergy reformed by the Council of Trent in a way of historical- liturgical probe: requirements set on secular clergy and external expression of these demands with the clerical dress - cassock. The work knowingly preserves historical and theological planes: firstly it brings basic points for institution of the sacrament of priesthood (Levitical priesthood of the Old Testament, priesthood of the New Covenant and its further rethinking), then it comes with contextual establishment of the Council of Trent (convening, process, discussed themes, follow-up reception of the Council decrees) and its results mainly in a relation to the clergy (theological grasp of the clergy). The thesis subsequently outlines position of the clergymen as a state, upon which society and country put certain clearly defined requirements. The treatise itself then shows individual demands lain on clergymen from the Church reformed by Tridentinum (formation in seminary, self conception of the clergy). The Liturgical Life and Related Carmelite Sisters' Practice after 1989 This thesis analyzes liturgical praxis and related habitual practice of two existing communities of Carmelite Nuns in Czech Republic. The purpose of this study is to. It is divided in five chapters. First two chapters concern the history of Carmelite Order and the attitude of Carmelites towards liturgy. In the third chapter the author summarizes the life of Carmelites nuns in the years 1950 − 1989 (during the communist era) and its impact on the communities nowadays. The fourth chapter offers a brief overview on various liturgical traditions which might have influenced the development of Carmelite liturgy. In the light of the those preliminary survey, the last chapter analyzes the typical daily liturgical schedule of a Carmelite nun and attempts to discern the origin of its components.

Rite of Marriage in the Christian West and Byzantine Tradition and in Jewish Tradition. Attempt of the Comparison. Annotation: This baccalaureate work is focused on the celebration of rite of marriage in three traditions: in jewish, in christian byzantine and christian west tradition. The primary source for the comparison of above mentioned traditions is stated in the historical aside to the antic greco-roman rite of marriage and to the jewish tradition in which the evolution of this particular rite is throughout the history minimal. Historical aside is based on the identification of the essential elements and signs of the rite of marriage and its celebration form. There is a tracking of the influence of these cultures on particular christian traditions there and their mutual interaction with the respect to the historical setting and geographical circumstances. The attempt of the comparison of rites of marriage in selected traditions as they are celebrated nowadays is provided. There is also the attempt to compare the selected symbols and elements throughout the rite of marriage in all three selected traditions. The Beuron School and Liturgy

Subject of my work is the Beuronese art and its relation to the liturgy. The first part concerns generally the beuronese confederation, its foundation, historical development and expansion. The piece draws the creation and the basic solutions of the confederation, coming of the Beuron Art School as an individual style, and presents the most important beuronese performers. The study also surveys the main works of the Beuron Art School and evaluates the School's influence on the main art streams of the period. The work then tries to describe and clarify the relationship between the beuronese conception of sacral art and liturgy using examples of the two most important Prague beuronese monasteries. For this purpose it analyses so called beuronese "Gesamtkunstwerk", using knowledge of the Christian iconography.
The Process of Introduction of Optional Eucharist Hand-Communion in the Czech Republic

English annotation The implementation process of the Eucharist Hand-Communion alternative in the Czech Republic territory Within development history background of the Eucharist Communion concept the process leading to the Eucharist Hand-Communion in Czech Republic is treated in nineties of the 20th century. Recent practices are supported by the enquiry of the Prague Archdiocese. The study is divided into three main chapters and thereafter into individual subchapters. The first part summarises Eucharist Communion concepts development up to liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council. There was also deliberated process leading to facilitating episcopal Conferences to supplicate Apostolic See for permission to provide for Eucharist Hand-Communion within their territory. The second part summarises and documents history of the Eucharist Hand- Communion alternative reimposition in the Czech Episcopal Conference territory and analyses at that time proceeding public discussion. The third chapter contents survey results that were done in a form of inquiry method among Prague Archdiocese priests with an aim to find out how this matter was accepted within pastorality after ten years since this alternative was introduced in Czech Republic. The Folk Art of Singing for a Catholic Divine Service in the Region of Podblanicko (the Vicariates of Vlašim and Benešov)

To the title: The Folk Art of Singing for a Catholic Divine Service in the Region of Podblanicko ( the vicariates of Vlašim and Benešov ) This work comes to analyze the answers to questions gained from straight to the topic orientated questionnaires, which were distributed to the parishes of Benešov and Vlašim. The survey aims to map the real contemporary feature of the folk singing art performed in this region, as well as to list and point out the song repertoire used in particular churches there, what is followed with a musical characterization and with quotations of three local songs practised in the places of their origin only.
