Stochastic Models and Methods for Analysis of Sports Outcomes

The statistical modelling on a sports field is in the process of a great development. Sports clubs have gradually changed into commercial companies and thus many possibilities how to take advantages of statistical instruments have emerged. Undoubtedly, the most popular task is the prediction of possible future results. The first part of this thesis summarizes the most interesting methods and types of solutions that were developed primarily for football matches. In this case the Poissons' regression models are mainly used. However, when the influences of time are taken into consideration, these models become more difficult and complicated for computations. The second part deals with the statistical survival analysis and random point processes and tries to find its utilization and connection with the predictions of the results of sports matches. On the basis of the Cox' regression model, a simple model for ice-hockey matches is derived here. This model estimates offensive and defensive forces of every team and other influences, for instance power plays and home environment. Searching collisions in hash functions

The main interest of this paper is finding collisions in the hash function MD5. We present our new algorithm based on Wangs et al. methods of finding collisions in MD5. While writing this thesis Stevens and Klima published their fast algorithms for finding collisions. We give a description of these algorithms and the calculation of computianal complexity of all three algorithms.

Length: 121,976 characters Abstract This thesis studies the relationship between the first generation biofuels and selected commodities and assets in the USA, Europe, and Brazil. It is the first attempt to combine the taxonomy and wavelet analyses in a single research application. Our unique dataset comprises 32 weekly price series covering the 2003-2015 time period. First, we employ a method of minimum spanning trees and hierarchical trees to model a biofuel-related price network. We demonstrate a development phase shift between Brazilian and the US/EU biofuel industries. We reveal a strong and stable connection between Brazilian ethanol and its main production factor, local sugarcane. We further find that US ethanol is closely linked to corn. In the contrary, European biodiesel exhibits only moderate ties to its production factors. Subsequent wavelet analysis scrutinizes the identified price connections both in time and frequency domains. Use of internet sites KamiNet for teaching languages to pupils with specific learning disabilities

The thesis aims at presenting the set of procedures using web learning sites KamiNet. The author developed these sites primarily for pupils with specific learning disabilities in secondary school as a tool for learning Czech language and English language. Description of these sites and analysis of their use is also part of presentation. The thesis is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the concept of specific learning disabilities - definitions and occurrence. The second chapter contains new age conception of learning languages in current Europe according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, based on information provided by scholarly literature, and its influence on conception of learning languages in the Czech Republic according to general educational program for primary and secondary school, including respect to pupils with specific learning disabilities in secondary school. The current knowledge related to problems of medial education and usage of web sites in teaching is presented in the third chapter. The fourth chapter pursues formation and intention of web learning sites KamiNet. Diagnostics of specific learning difficulties from the position of the lower primary school teacher

V současné době se v naší populaci vyskytuje mnoho jedinců, kteří trpí specifickou poruchou učení. Proto, aby docházelo u těchto jedinců ke zlepšení či úplné nápravě, je zapotřebí především co nejdříve poruchu podchytit - tzn. diagnostikovat specifickou poruchu učení v co nejrannějším věku. Např. již v MŠ je možné si povšimnout v rámci předškolních prohlídek oslabení funkcí důležitých pro počáteční čtení a psaní. Diagnostiku specifických poruch učení lze však provádět až na ZŠ - a to především od konce prvního ročníku, kdy již dítě umí číst a psát. A vzhledem k tomu, že se SPU objevují nejvýrazněji ve školních aktivitách, případně úkol diagnostiky právě učitelům, kteří musí být všímaví a případných obtíží si u dětí všimnout. Bylo by tedy dobré, kdyby učitelé měli základní znalosti ze speciální pedagogiky a uměli diagnostikovat SPU. Jak tomu ve skutečnosti je? Mají učitelé 1. stupně ZŠ potřebné znalosti diagnostiky specifických poruch učení? Dokáží udělat prvotní diagnostiku specifických poruch učení u dětí? Innovative approaches to education and functions of educational technology

Rigorózní práce je zaměřena na problematiku inovativních přístupů ve vzdělávání a zkoumání souvislostí, funkcí a možností vzdělávacích, resp. informačních a komunikačních technologií při těchto procesech. Ve vztahu k současnému pojetí vzdělávání a jeho transformace se práce zaměřuje především na specifikaci procesuálních, kurikulárních a systémových kontextů inovativních přístupů k rozvoji vzdělávání s využitím vzdělávacích technologií.
