The procedure of disinsenction of collection items in a precise thermal chamber with regulated air humidity
Baar, Jan ; Koudelová, Jana ; Šimčíková, Markéta
The heritage porcedure defines the use of a non-toxic method of eliminating all developmental stages of biological pests – insects that damage historical objects made of organic materials through treatment in a precise thermomochamber under certain thermal and humidity conditions.

The process of identification of segments of the pre-industrial landscape in the Czech Republic
Kolejka, Jaromír ; Kirchner, Karel ; Ondráček, Stanislav ; Zapletalová, Jana ; Batelková, Kateřina ; Krejčí, Tomáš ; Nováková, Eva
The identified segments of the pre-industrial landscape represent a valuable cultural heritage of the countryside. They represent the subject of landscape and landscape protection. They can become an attraction of tourism and a source of income for rural communities. The novelty of the methodology is based on the use of the latest• and at the same time the oldest reliable cartographic data to identify the landscape cultural heritage segments. The methodology presents the identification marks of the segments in the current landscape and of their verification based on historical maps. The results of the methodology should contribute to the evidence and to the maintenance of this less known cultural heritage.
Elemental analysis of vehical glass using neutron activation analysis and X-ray fluorescence analysis
Kameník, Jan ; Fikrle, Marek ; Kučera, Jan
Glass microfragments provide valuable information about certain vehicle crimes. The methodology describes application of X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) and neutron activation analysis (NAA) of elemental admixtures in vehicle glass fragments. XRF allows rapid and non-destructive test of the sample and helps in selection of protocols for detailed inspections by additional methods. NAA is time demanding, however, has potential to provide robust results for law enforcement agencies. Both methods are described together with protocols of analysis and their variants. The methodology includes results for 80+ vehicle glass samples.
Instrumental neutron activation analysis of psychoactive substances, mainly heroin, cocaine, metamphetamine and their adulterants
Kameník, Jan ; Kučera, Jan
Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) is a robust analytical method theoretically well descibed and understood. INAA works with solid samples, dissolution is not required. The methodology introduces INAA background and lists procedures used for quality control. Protocols for INAA of heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine are described in details. Applications of INAA for psychoactive substances includes estimation of purity and adulterants used and drogs profiling. The metodology is based on measurement of laboratory and real samples.
Descriptor lists for irises, peonies and daylilies in the Průhonice Botanic Garden
Sekerka, Pavel ; Blažek, Milan ; Blažková, Uljana ; Caspers, Zuzana ; Macháčková, Markéta ; Fáberová, I. ; Papoušková, L. ; Matiska, P. ; Koudela, M.
In 2015, the Council of Plants Genetic Resources agreed to include genus Hemerocallis (daylily) and genus Paeonia (peony) into the collections of genetic resources of the National Program. In addition to the selection of plants suitable for the National Program, we started to prepare descriptor lists for these genera in cooperation with students of the Department of Horticulture Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources Czech University of Life Science, Prague. The descriptor list was supposed to cover botanical characteristics of wild species as well as the advanced garden ornamental varieties, because the species of peonies and daylilieas are medicinal plants and it is therefore appropriate to incorporate them in the National Program. At the same time, it turned out that the descriptor list used for Iris is intended primarily for bearded irises (Iris subgen. Iris). However, in the last twenty years, the Czech breeders have specialized also in other groups of irises, especially in Siberian and Japanese irises and Spuria group, which don’t have any beard on outer tepals and have other differerent characteristics from the subgenus Iris. Therefore, we have decided to extend the existing descriptor list to cover the whole genus except bulb irises.
Modeling the impacts of combined climatic events on the growth, development and yield parameters of field thermophilic vegetables and oilseed rape in the decision support system in the field of agrotechnology transfer - DSSAT
Potopová, Vera ; Muntean, N. ; Chawdhery, M. ; Trifan, T. ; Zehnálek, P. ; Soukup, J. ; Potop, I. ; Zahradníček, Pavel ; Možný, Martin
Modeling the impacts of combined climate events on the growth, development and yield parameters of field thermophilic vegetables and oilseed rape in a decision support system in the field of agrotechnology transfer - DSSAT. This book will introduce you to the latest information technologies and their applications in agriculture, including decision support systems, crop simulation models and other computer tools. It should also help you to solve problems at the regional level on issues related to crop production and other issues related to agriculture, natural resource management and cropping systems and food security, as well as issues related to climate change and variability. This professional book offers users the appropriate supplementary material to enable them to continuously meet the demands of a changing climate. The book is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part summarizes basic information about simulations of crop production, water and nutrient management, climate risks and environmental sustainability. In the practical part, the procedures for working in the DSSAT program (Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer) are presented.
Monument procedure - Measuring during repairs of carpentry structures
Stejskal, David
In this text, the author presents several measurement procedures intended for the repair of valuable carpentry structures. This is not a comletely exhaustive overview of individual options or a comparison of different methods. However, the selected examples summarize the most interesting experiences from twenty years of practice and experiments. For carpenters with varying degrees of expirience, the text tries to offer a number of inspiring insights thet can be used in a creative way even in conditions thet are quite different. Imporved measurement without unnecessary excesses decisively pushes the current limits of technical possibilities, thereby opening th way to more advanced repairs.

Methodology for determining forgeries and copies of miniature paintings
Sondej, A. ; Hradilová, J. ; Hradil, David
The methodology describes the signs by which it is possible to distinguish between an original miniature portrait painting and other types of imitations, whether they were produced individually or in serial reproduction. For this classification, the methodology uses both routinely available tools (e.g. a magnifying glass or a stereomicroscope) as well as specialized imaging and analytical instruments, without the help of which accurate determination cannot be done. In all cases, these are non-invasive procedures that do not require any material removal from the painting. The analytical procedures used to determine the provenance of a work are in some cases completely new.
