Long-term development of public transport serviceability in Pardubice region and its connection to the distribution of population

Interest in the transport serviceability has been growing recently. Counties have to make transport plans whose purpose is to create an alternative to increasing usage of cars. Transport serviceability plays a role in the shaping of settlement system. Development of transport serviceability, its dependence on the administrative status of the settlement and the dependence on its horizontal transport position are analyzed in this thesis. Then, the thesis attend to the relation of transport serviceability and the concentration of population and to the relation of development of these two characteristics. Data from Sčítání lidu, domů a bytů, timetables and the IDOS application were used for the analysis. They were processed to graphs, cartographic representation and some statistics methods for dependence evaluation were used. There is shown that transport serviceability decreased with the change of political regime in 1989, it stabilized in 2000 and integrated transport system IREDO had an influence on increase of quality of it. The dependence between population size of a settlement and the quality of its transport serviceability and also particular dependence of their developments are shown in this thesis.
