Brickworks and cannery Víchov - Černošín
Lovětinský, Tomáš ; Landa, Karel (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor’s thesis is the design of a facility for producing grape juice and cider on the outskirts of a small village in the Plzeň Region. Víchov, with approximately 120 inhabitants, is located near the town of Stříbro. The main goal of the design is to create a rather pleasant place in the small village associated with highquality apple juice, rather than an austere industrial hall. The gently sloping terrain allows for partial embedding of the production hall below ground level from the side of the village, without disrupting the traditional rural character of the area. The accessible roof and the orientation of the building provide views of the nearby Víchovský pond. Short-term accommodation, a café serving fresh cider and connectivity to the cycling network will attract not only local residents.
Nexus in Opočno - Transformation of the school campus into a modern inclusive district in accordance with the development directions of the city and the region
Březová, Zuzana ; Františák, Luboš (referee) ; Palacký, Jiří (advisor)
The main goal of the bachelor's thesis was to propose a new use for the premises of the former high school in Opočno. Currently, the area is used only minimally and in this state does not have the potential to be integrated into the running of the city. In the proposal, I would like to make the area accessible to the public and at the same time create the possibility of greater housing variability in Opočno, which I want to achieve by integrating the new structure into the urban environment.

Všetečková, Eva ; Františák, Luboš (referee) ; Palacký, Jiří (advisor)

The project is based on the principles of the Austrian architect Dietmar Eberle, which allow change of function and avoids the current problem of an empty site with no possibility of simple transformation.

The Rehabilitation of the historical center and adjacent surroundings of Kyjov with a focus on the public space
Lípová, Markéta ; Řehák, Filip (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is “Rehabilitation of the historical center and the surrounding neighborhoods in Kyjov with main focus on public space”. Urbanistic solution covers an area in close distance from the Masaryk Square, where the effort is to offer housing in the newly designed residential district. Diploma thesis also contains a design for completion and increase of capacity of the social services complex which is adjacent to the park by Saint Josef Chapel. This park is a part of the urbanistic design as well. The studied area is bordered by the streets of Újezd, Dobrovského, Dvořákova, Klvaňova, Brandlova and Palackého třída. Although Kyjov is situated mostly on plains the studied area is in a hilly and disunited part of the city. Buildings in this area are rather low-rise and mainly used for housing purposes. The design is focused on offering varied housing, which relates to the existing buildings and develops unused public space. Scope of this diploma thesis also contains a vision for the year 2070. The vision focuses on an area currently with high-rise blocks of flats. This area is adjacent to the newly designed residential district.
The subrural catalogue
Malínková, Markéta ; Fabián, Ondřej (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma project deals with the construction of the catalogue houses on the outskirts of villages. In addition to the term suburban, the term subrural is introduced, which describes and names this type of construction. At the same time, the project examines the influence of advertising catalogues on the aesthetics of subrural gardens and the activities performed on them. The work comes with a proposal for an alternative subrural locality in the village of Příkazy near Olomouc. Thanks to the minimization of plots, the labor is also minimized and at the same time space is freed for public orchard running through the entire territory. This creates a diffusion of development into the agricultural landscape and on a smaller scale it creates a spectacular space around private gardens. Prefabricated bricks from hobby markets form the architectural expression of the project. From these elements are assembled objects and fragments of fences located in the landscape. At the same time, the fragments form a newly compiled catalogue, according to which inhabitants build their fences.

Vegetace na zemědělské půdě v blízkosti železničních tratí
Vidrmertová, Ivana
The aim of this study was to monitor the vegetation, species distribution and percent cover of each species in an orchard adjacent to a railway line. Three sites were selected for observation, namely the orchard inter-row, the path in the orchard and the railway embankment. Vegetation was assessed by phytocenological photographs, of which 18 were taken, each covering 10 m2. The observations were carried out in July and September 2022. The data were processed by principal component analysis (PCA) and redundancy analysis (RDA). At the same time, the data were tabulated according to habitat and date of observation. Thirty-eight plant species were found during the assessment, and individual weed species representation was distributed into five groups according to habitat. Among the species assessed, five invasive species were found - Amaranthus retroflexus, Cirsium arvense, Erigeron annuus, Setaria pumila and Solidago canadensis.
Measures to support populations of solitary bees in agroecosystems
Šlachta, Martin ; Erban, T. ; Votavová, A. ; Cudlín, Ondřej ; Cudlín, Pavel ; Halešová, T.
Solitary bees participate in the pollination of crops. According to our field\nsurvey, this involves 88 species of solitary bees in spring, mainly mining bees\n(Andrenidae) and sweat bees (Halictidae) nesting in the soil. The species\nnesting above soil were present less due to the lack of nesting opportunities\nand generally summer nesting activity. Among them, mason bees (Osmia sp.),\nnesting in spring, are used abroad for the pollination of fruit trees. The aim of\nthis methodology is to provide farmers with instructions for the use of mason\nbees for pollination of orchards by means of artificial nesting sites. We propose\na convenient construction of nesting sites and the methodology for rearing the\nEuropean orchard bee, Osmia cornuta (Latreille, 1805), which is, due to its earlyspring nesting activity, a suitable substitute for the currently used buff-tailed\nbumblebee. Breeding can be supplemented by the red mason bee, O. bicornis\n(Linnaeus, 1758), with later nesting activity. The book contains also suggested\nmeasures to support solitary bees in the landscape and new research data on\nthe diversity of solitary bees and pollen preferences of mason bees.
