Volumetric Efects Accelerated on GPU
Kubovčík, Tomáš ; Tóth, Michal (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with simulation and rendering of fluid based volumetric effects, especially effect of fire and smoke. Computations are accelerated on graphics card using modern graphics API with motivation to achieve realistic visual results as well as physically correct calculations. Implemented volumetric effects are distributed as dynamic library which allows addition of these effects to existing applications.
Smoke and Fire Detection in Video Sequences
Tomek, Peter ; Štancl, Vít (referee) ; Švub, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis aims to analyse a videosignal given in input and find segments that contains fire or smoke. The problem is divided into two cases-detection of fire and detection of smoke. The first and main step of analysation is detection of segments by Gaussian mixture model that is trained by Expectation-Maximization algorithm, or shortly EM algorithm. For smoke detection is than used method of optical flow. The final segments are than processed by some morphological methods and determination of their position is made. Finally, the output of algorithm is again a videosignal in which segments that probably contains fire or smoke are highlighted.
Studying the behavior of concrete at high temperatures
Čonka, Ladislav ; Sitek,, Libor (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the current issues of concrete resistance to high temperatures. The theoretical part has been processed the changes taking place in the individual components of concrete and changes affecting the physical - mechanical properties of concrete and color-changing effects manifesting high. In the experimental part of the load was, carried concrete test samples to a temperature of 400 ° C, 600 ° C and 800 ° C. After the thermal load, has been on test samples tested changes in physico - mechanical properties, especially concrete compressive strength, water absorption but also a visual assessment of the concrete surface
Fire safety of wood structures
Čtvrtečková, Lenka ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the description, indication and evaluation of the fire resistance of wooden structures. It describes the procedures used to determine the corresponding fire resistance. It also contains a description of construction systems and fire solutions for selected wooden buildings across the world. This bachelor thesis experimentally verifies the fire resistance of mechanically bonded cross laminated timber boards.
Possibilities of improvement of fire properties of insulation materials based on organic fibers
Urbánek, Tomáš ; Třísko, Pavel (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
This work is focuses on the modification of organic fiber insulating materials in terms of their reaction to fire after installation into the construction. The target is to find a way to improve the reaction to fire and to at least reach the reaction to fire D.
Vliv vypalování pastvin na lesní zdroje republiky Zambie
Šanda, Matěj
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the loss of forest in Zambia, in a marked locality in the southern province. For the purpose of this research, we used satellite images of the Sentinel 2 satellite, which we subsequently edited in the ArcGis map software so that differences in vegetation and it´s loss can be seen on individual images that are separated by 5 years. Another question is the use of fire as a tool for creating new areas for agricultural and grazing purposes, because Zambia is one of the countries in which fire plays an important role (it deeply affects both the historical and cultural roots of this country). It is very problematic to find a suitable and ecological substitute for burning.
Proposal for the preparation and implementation of a course on survival in nature
Stehlíková, Karolína ; Bačáková, Radka (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Proposal for the preparation and implementation of a course on survival in nature. Objectives: In the theoretical part of the thesis the method of literature search was used. Subsequently, the knowledge and information obtained in the theoretical part was transferred to the practical part, which was additionally supplemented with own experience and inspiration from professional authors dealing with the creation of a course on survival. Methods: In the theoretical part of the thesis the method of literature search was used. Subsequently, the knowledge and information obtained in the theoretical part was transferred to the practical part, which was additionally supplemented with own experience and inspiration from professional authors dealing with the creation of a course on survival. Results: The result of the work is a comprehensive and practical course plan that could be useful for instructors, organizations, and individuals interested in the outdoors. Conclusion: The aim was to design a three-day programme for fifteen people who have minimal knowledge of the outdoors. The main idea of this course is to involve game activities that will help the participants to improve their skills. Keywords: nature, shelter building, basic orientation, fire
Architectural study of the sacred building and the Salesian community center in Brno - Líšeň
Kręželoková, Tereza ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis is the design of the Church of the Holy Spirit and at the same time a community center for the Salesians in Brno - Líšno. The Salesians are a Christian congregation that is especially dedicated to the education of the youth. Salesians have been active in Líšn since 1995, when the Salesian Youth Center began to be established here. The local community of believers currently does not have a church here that would meet the capacity requirements, the believers celebrate services in the gymnasium of the Salesian Youth Center. The goal of my work is to design a church where believers can celebrate services with dignity, and also a community center where the local community of people can meet and create community. The proposal also includes a rectory with apartments and facilities for priests. The land intended for construction is located in close proximity to the Salesian Youth Center. It lies on an elevated site in a rather sloping terrain. To the north of the property there is a polyclinic building. The surrounding development consists of panel apartment buildings, often with a height of up to eight floors. The shape of the building is based on the urban layout. The external plan shape of the building is rectangular and it is installed parallel to the building of the polyclinic and to the road. An ellipse is cut into the rectangle - the inner atrium. The elliptical floor plan of the church is inscribed in the atrium. The proposed building is divided into individual functional units: the Church of the Holy Spirit, the church grounds, the community center and the rectory. The church has an ellipse in plan and is lit only from above by means of skylights. These skylights symbolize the light of the Holy Spirit, coming from above. The interior of the church is defined by 24 columns. The church's facilities include a sacristy, a conference room, sanitary facilities and operational premises. An internal atrium is proposed between the community center and the church, around which the community center corridor leads. The community center includes a social hall for 120 people, which can be divided into two rooms with the help of a mobile partition, as well as a classroom, clubhouse and facilities. On the 2nd floor there are two priests' apartments and facilities for priests, which include a kitchen, library, offices and a chapel. The dominant element of the design is the tower, which serves as a belfry. A church courtyard will be created in front of the church, where seating, a water feature and also bicycle sheds are planned. At the staircase on the south side of the property, residential stairs will be created. The design also includes the modification of the surrounding green areas.
Vliv požárů na psamofilní vegetaci jihovýchodní Moravy
ŠÍMOVÁ, Štěpánka
The influence of a large accidental summer fire and experimental burning in different seasons on psammophilous vegetation was studied. Vegetation characteristics were described before and one year after the fires. There were determined which treatment supports occuring of target species of psammophilous grasslands and if prescribed burning can be used as a tool of management in nature conservation.
