The thesis Dr. Jan Herben - Journalist and Politician (1857-1936) maps the life of this distinguished journalist and politician of the late 19th and early 20th centuries from his studies till the end of his professional career. It is based on literature about Jan Herben or about the period of turn of the century, on periodicals of that time, and archive materials found in the Museum of Czech Literature in Prague and in Herben's summer house in Hostišov. It focuses mainly on the period of publishing the Čas periodical which under Dr. Jan Herben became the main daily of the Realist Party of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, on affairs linked to the publication of Čas, including the disputes over the authenticity of two ostensible early medieval Czech manuscripts, a wave of protests following publication of the first editorial Our Two Questions by Hubert Gordon Shauer, the Hilsner affair, or Dr. Jan Herben's accusation of embezzlement of funds collected for orphans in the town of Most. The thesis also briefly describes Herben's post-war journalistic career in Lidové noviny daily, in the humour weekly Nebojsa and in Národní práce daily, his career as a writer as well as a politician, MP and Senator. The Comparison of Crimes Against Property in the Czech Republic and Polish Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the issue and comparison of selected property crimes in the Czech and Polish legislation. It concisely compares criminal law as a whole with focus on property crimes and then individual crimes of theft, embezzlement, fraud, vandalism, money laundering and computer crimes. Attention is also paid to the set penalties for individual crimes with the subsequent evaluation of both legislations and possible de lege ferenda proposals for the Czech legislator

Crimes in the banking sector

This thesis deals with criminal activities in relation to the banking sector. To highlight the importance of banking to the national economy, is seized most crime committed here. The perpetrators come from these areas. First, working within the banking sector - shareholders, officers and employees, the other so-called third parties outside the banking sector. Their common goal - to seize the funds in the bank for their own enrichment. Mostly for the money of depositors. This is a specific crime. Aim - show status of de lege lata. The prevention of crime, also show the possibility of de lege ferenda. In order to prevent crime and reduce the degree of damage.

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou podvodných jednání obecně. Jejich rozdělení na vnitřní a vnější podvodná jednání umožňuje lépe charakterizovat a odlišit jednotlivé formy, ale také techniky odhalování a možnost jejich prevence. Pro lepší představuje je práce doplněna tabulkami, grafy a obrázky, které vycházejí z konkrétních údajů z průzkumu prováděných v ČR a ve Spojených státech amerických.
