The bachelor’s thesis focuses on environmental education as a cross-cutting topic of the framework educational program and its implementation in secondary school education. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, a definition of environmental education is provided, and the main topics related to environmental issues are described. Educational programs and ways to introduce environmental education into the educational process are also discussed. In the practical part, a quantitative questionnaire survey was conducted to analyze students‘ awareness and attitudes towards environmental issues
Media education through the lens of the professional teaching community

The aim of the thesis entitled Media Education through the lens of the professional teaching community is to identify the issues and topics that appear in the discourse on media education in the Czech Republic, especially from the perspective of teachers and experts dealing with this issue. Using theoretical foundations based primarily on the framework curricula and surveys from recent years and content analysis of online discussions under news articles, the state of media education in the Czech Republic will be investigated. These findings will be subsequently verified and questioned through in-depth interviews with stakeholders from the school and educational institutions environment. Thus, two qualitative methods will be used in the analytical part, which will increase the reliability of the research results. A secondary purpose of the research is the possibility of further testing the resulting hypotheses or questions, for example through a questionnaire survey. Thanks to in-depth interviews, it is also possible to gain a broader insight into the issues of contemporary media education, which has been the focus of few studies or surveys in the Czech Republic in recent years. Media education at schools-critical-analytic or production approach

The aim of this diploma thesis, which is entitled "Media Education in schools - critical-analytic or production approach", is to map the current state of practice of media education in a sample of secondary schools (gymnasiums) in central Bohemia. Our goal is to provide readers with broader theoretical insight into the concept of media literacy (as a goal of any media education), to capture a brief history of development of the perspective on the role of media education, as well as to examine how media education is incorporated within the Czech system of secondary education, and also to reflect on its possible forms of implementation. Last but not least, the intent of the thesis is to describe two basic approaches to media education, both of which are directed to development of media literacy. Our research led by a combination of questionnaires and interviews with educators suppose to be used as a tool that should help us to bridge the theory with an image of factual practice. The research part primarily aims to provide insight into framework of the current practice of teaching media education in secondary schools in central Bohemia, and through interpretation of the main remarks points to (at least) basic issues which teachers of media education must deal with.

This diploma thesis with the name "The process and result of negotiation of various actors over the form of media education: case study of Grammar School in Trinec" is dealing with media education and its realization at Grammar School in Trinec. The theoretical part will describe various definitions of media literacy as a result of media education. It will explore the development of media education in Europe and in the Czech Republic and it will analyze various approaches to the realization of media education. The thesis will also mention some researches made in last years in the Czech Republic that dealt with media education or media literacy. The practical part will continue after the theoretical part and it will deal with the realization of media education at Grammar School in Trinec. It will not just be about simple description of the condition of media education at that school. The goal is to focus on factors that come into the process of negotiation over the form of media education. The author will try to find out how individual actors communicate with each other and what is their interest in media education. Media educaton in Czech lessons on high schools

The aim of this diploma thesis, which is entitled "Media education in Czech lessons in secondary schools", is to map out the current state of integration of a cross-sectional theme named Media Education into the Czech lessons of all kinds of high schools in the Czech Republic. The educational process is seen from the perspectives of all its participants. The thesis should bring the list of excerpted scientific texts and research dealing with the object of our interest. And it also aims to describe the interfaces of both educational subjects which emerge from the requirements for the students. The research part is aimed at providing the informations about the particular signs of media education in the obligatory school subject of Czech lessons as well as the success of this effort to increase media literacy by the high school students. This information should be collected by a content analyses of school curricular documents, interviews and questionnaires of both sides of the educational process.The work also brings an analyses of teaching materials represented by Czech lesson textbooks, which are evaluated according to the integration of our cross-sectional theme and its possibilities. The output of this thesis is the suggestion of our own didactic instrument, the didactic test.
The Analysis of MF DNES's Project: Students Read and Write Newspaper

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of a project designed to promote media literacy among secondary school students. It is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part basic terms related to media education, its current status in the Czech Republic and the inclusion of media education in the curriculum are defined. Two main approaches in the development of media education are looked at in detail. The practical part explains the history and present situation of the organization behind the project, including its actual market position. It further describes in detail, the project itself, its rules, schedule, as well as its stated intention. It shortly mentions several abroad projects with similar themes, which puts the project into an international context. It briefly analyzes the themes, in which the students were engaged. The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the students' outcomes in one topic of the examined volume. It focuses on the students' contributions, which were published in the printed journal, and therefore, shaped the media image of the project. Finally, it tries to interpret the views of secondary school teachers and students, who were involved in the project.
