Ways of appropriation. American and British literary criticism of Čapek's R.U.R. in the 1920s

The diploma thesis deals with the critical reception of the drama R.U.R. by the Czechoslovak author Karel Čapek and with the critical reception of its first productions in the Anglo-American environment in the 1920s. Materially, the work is based primarily on archival materials available in the Karel Čapek fond at the Museum of Czech Literature (Památník národního písemnictví) in Prague, one of its secondary aims is to identify the bibliographical data of these materials. In dealing with R.U.R. criticism in the U.S. and the U.K., the work focuses on its intertextual and intercultural relations. This bachelor's thesis focuses on content analysis and audience survey of the show Mikýřova úžasná pouť internetem. The aim of the thesis is to gain a thorough understanding of the content and evaluation of this popular program, which explores various internet phenomena and experiences. The thesis employs a combination of qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The qualitative analysis focuses on the content of the show Mikýřova úžasná pouť internetem, examining the themes, stories, and presentation style. The quantitative analysis focuses on audience survey through a questionnaire, collecting demographic information, opinions, and viewers' preferences. The conducted analyses and surveys are subsequently evaluated and presented in the thesis. The results provide a comprehensive picture of the content of the show Mikýřova úžasná pouť internetem, as well as the preferences and evaluations of the audience. The thesis offers insights into how the show appeals to viewers, how content is created for the show, and how viewers perceive and respond to the content. Jean-Paul Sartre´s plays in Czech translations and on Czech theatre stages

Bachelor thesis is focused on the dramatic work of the French existentialist philosopher and writer Jean-Paul Sartre. The work examines and maps the period responses to Sartre's plays in our country from the end of the 1950s to the present. It also deals with their connection with the book publication of their translations and their stage presentation. It also outlines the cultural and political environment of the period and the importance of literary translation in the receiving culture. The main objective of the work is to summarize the critical responses of Sartre's dramatic work in our country from the first introduction to the Czech scene to the present.
Reflection of Jáchym Topol´s Fiction Work in Literary Criticism in the 1990s

In this thesis, we will focus on the comparison of the Czech works of literary criticism and reviews reflecting on the work of Jáchym Topol which was published in the 1990s. The aim of this work will be to describe the formation of models of scientific discourses oriented towards the author's work. The given texts of Czech literary critiques will be seen as a product of contemporary events and thoughts, and the work will be written with the ambition to describe whether and how critics reflect on the author's pre-revolutionary work in relation to his poetics formed in the 1990s. The analysis will be preceded by a definition of the concept of representation and an introduction to the life of the author and his important moments that shaped the form of his poetics during both the pre- and post-revolutionary periods.
The Ironic Picture of the Society in the Work of Geoffrey Chaucer and Graham Greene

This diploma thesis deals with the ironic concept of the society in the texts of two great and important, yet historically very different figures, Geoffrey Chaucer and Graham Greene. Despite this historical difference, the thesis aims at the discovery of similarities in the expression of their personal attitudes towards the society in the particular period. In Chaucer's case we discuss the late-medieval English society, which stands on the edge of a new historical era and is a part of a great social change in the history of humankind. Greene's social picture is more oriented on the individual human being fighting with the modern world of the 20th century and experiencing the existential crisis caused by the two world wars. We try to follow the ironic voice that is reflected in the work of both authors and thus creates a significant character of their texts. The aim of this thesis is to find a common topic, which would mirror their ironic voice in the context of social criticism.
