This bachelor thesis is engaged in concept and implementation of graph editor, which is connected with concrete information system using protocol XML-RPC. The application is created using programming language Python and its graphic library Python Imaging Library. Graphic user interface is realized by GTK+ or more precisely by PyGTK, its application program interface for Python.

A GUI for Configuring an FTP Server

The subject of this document is concept and implementation of graphical configuration tool for vsftpd ftp server, which is distributed to Red Hat Linux operating systems. Mainly, the document puts accent on simplicity of user's access to server configuration, complexity of access to configuration options and their scalability. The program is integrated to GNOME desktop enviroment.

Bridge between GLUT and Graphical User Interface Library

This document describes a major problems with creating 3D applications in a graphic library named OpenGL. There are some basic informations about a GLUT library including main advantages and disadvantages and a description of alternative implementations of a GLUT API. Further content is focused on the most familiar graphic libraries for creating user interfaces which should be used to develop the OpenGL applications and with their advantages and disadvantages too. The next part describes a draft of a new GLUT API implementation based on the selected user interface library. Major part of thesis is about implementation of GtkGLUT library. Reader can find this implementation on CD. Last part describes future development plans.

This thesis deals with creating graphs in application UGE (Universal graphic editor) and facilities it offers for plugins programmers. Goal of the thesis is to design UGML (UGE Graph Markup Language) data format, implement plugin for importing/exporting graph, implement SVG graphic format export and export into several bitmap formats. Thesis extends particular parts of application, especially API (application program interface) and manipulating graphical representation of objects.

This work studies the way of saving configuration files in Unix-like operating systems, so the location and content system and also user configuration files. This work also studies the history of operating system Unix and GNU/Linux and describes aplication, that implements gained experience and makes possible to save configuration files and also restore from backup.
