Effatha choir

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to inform in detail about the phenomenon that is the nationwide choir of the Church of the Brethren Effatha. It describes the formation of the choir from singing retreats in Slovakia in the second half of the 1980's, its history and transformation into its present form, and also discusses the goals and visions of the choir. These include, among others, inspiring worship of God, promoting and fostering sacred music in the church, and working with children and youth. It also describes the spiritual aspect of the choir's work, through interviews with current or past singers of the choir. The thesis further explores in more detail the choir's main activities, its musical style and the personalities that have shaped it. In addition to church-wide journals, the important sources of information were mainly the testimonies of Tibor Máhrik and Roman Toušek and sources made available in the choir's archives. Parents' reasons for Christian education of their children

This bachelor thesis examines aspects of Christian family. It also describes the practice of Christian parenting and lists the pastoral activities of selected churches. The thesis draws on literature that helps to map the family policies of three Christian denominations: the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of the Brethren (Církev bratrská), and the Christian Fellowship (Křesťanská společenství). The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. A semi-structured interview strategy was used to answer the research question, followed by an analysis of the resulting data. Through the conducted research, the thesis maps the practice of Christian parenting in specific families and identifies parents' reasons for Christian parenting, which, according to the conducted research, are based on the specific opinions and attitudes of the respective churches.
Czech Leuenberg Synod

Czech Leuenberg Synod The thesis deals with the Czech Leuenberg Synod, an ecumenical assembly of denominations that signed the Leuenberg Agreement (Church of the Brethren in the Czech Republic, Czechoslovak Hussite Church, Church of Czech Brethren, Methodist Church, Silesian Church of the Augsburg Confession). The Synod was formed in 2000. The meetings of the Synod take place every other year and each denomination is represented by four delegates. The first chapter introduces the historical and theological importance of the Leuenberg Agreement as the basic document of the Synod. The second chapter deals with the first meeting in 2000, its statutes and the documents approved on this meeting. The third chapter describes the following meetings and focuses on the topic of each meeting, important documents and/or decisions of the Synod. This chapter includes also the names of the Synod presidents and vice-presidents. The fourth chapter is a reflection of the twenty years of the existence of the Synod and it introduces several suggestions for the future work. Religious Education of Youth in the Church of Brethrens

This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of religious education of youth in the Church of Brethren. Its main aim is to describe the process of religious education of youth according to the theoretical and practical sources of the Church of Brethren. The results were compared in the last part of the thesis to the educational concepts of other churches studied in the theoretical part. The theoretical part defines the terms related to religious education such as catechesis, pastoral care, evangelization, discipleship, religious pedagogy etc. It also includes the characteristics of the Church of Brethren and youth in the context of postmodern era. The last chapter deals with religious education of youth in church in general with regards to the personality of a youth pastor, educational goals and teaching methods. The practical part is designed as an analysis of three areas: Department of Youth of the Church of Brethren, other Christian organizations working with youth and an interview with the Leading pastor of the Council of the Church of Brethren who has been working with youth for many years. Educational Needs of Pastors at Church of the Brethren

This bachelor's thesis aims to analyse the educational needs of the pastors in the Church of the Bretheren denomination in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the situation and position of churches in the Czech republic. Later in the chapter the Church of the Bretheren is introduced. Chapter 2 describes the job title of pastor in the Church of the Bretheren, the pastor's roles, rights and duties and pastor's job desription. In the chapter is a proposal of the pastor's needed competencies. Chapter 3 presents existing opportunities for education for pastors. Also in Chapter 3, study plans of chosen educational institutions are analysed and compared with proposed competencies. The third chapter leads to chapter 4 which contents an analysis of the educational needs of the pastors at the Church of the Bretheren. The aim of this analysis is to identify the existing educational needs and to find out how these educational needs were fulfilled during the internal church preparatory vicar program. Religions education of first elementary school children in the Church of Brethren

Bachelor thesis with the title Religious education of first elementary school children in the Church of Brethren consists of eight chapters.The first chapter explains the topicality of the problems and the basic concepts. The second chapter focuses on the documents of the Church of Brethren that relate to the religious education of children. The third chapter deals with professional and popularization texts from the members of the Church of Brethren regarding religious teaching and education of children. The fourth chapter presents the activities of the Children's department on the basis of available written information. The fifth chapter adds information to the Children's department through semi-structured interviews. The sixth chapter focuses on church curricula and textbooks before 1989. The seventh chapter presents educational materials using by the Church after 1989.The eighth chapter contains of a short reflection of the religious education of of first elementary school children in the Church of Brethren.
The Bequest of the Unity of the Brethren in the Lore and Practice of the Contemporary Protestant Churches in the Czech Republic

This theses researches the bequest of The Unity of the Brethren in the lore and practice of the contemporary protestant churches in the Czech Republic. The first part evaluates numerous sources to concretize the bequest of The Unity of Brethren to ten points, which represent the most specific characteristics of its lore. The second part focuses on comparison of the previously specified bequest of The Unity of Brethren with practice and lore of particular contemporary churches. Through analysis of church sources and structured interviews with the heads of contemporary churches the thesis shows which points of the bequest of The Unity of Brethren actually appear in the lore of the examined churches and to what extend these points influence the real life of the communities. The main objective of the thesis is to examine whether the rich Brethren tradition can be found in today's Czech churches. Moreover this work also asks to what extend these churches manage to keep the Brethren bequest alive in the modern social environment.
Youth Motivation and Satisfaction in Consumption of Religious Goods in the Brethren Church

The subject of this master's thesis is to carry out an empirical research, which leads to describing current situation and to suggestions to raise satisfaction in consumption of religious goods. The first part concentrates on theoretical basis. Key terms and concepts are being defined, church marketing is being developed and secondary data analyzed. The second part deals with the descriptive research among youth and their motivation and satisfaction. In the conclusion of this thesis specific suggestions for improvement are offered.
