Czech Radio's foreign reporters in Brussel and in the Middle East: the comparison of the preparation for the position and conditions for their work

Diploma thesis "Czech Radio's foreign reporters in Brussel and in the Middle East: the comparison of the preparation for the position and conditions for their work" observe the technical aspects of work on above mentioned places. The main goal is to confirm or disprove a hypothesis saying radio reporting from Brussels and from the Middle East has in this case nothing in common besides the institution of the Czech Radio. This hypothesis comes from the apparent difference between Brussels and the Middle East regarding area and political systems which could also lead to the same relation between reporting from these two destinations. The target is then analysing the content of interviews with Czech Radio's foreign correspondents and their predecessors placed in Brussels and in the Middle East by means of qualitative research approach. All interviews were half-standardized. The results will be summarized using the comparative method regarding seven evaluate parameters. These are: preparation for the position, agenda setting, characteristics comparing to other correspondents of the Czech Radio, physical and psychical demands, issues with recording, cooperation and the impact of technological development on the correspondent 's work.
Belgian Federalism in the Light of the Requirements of the Flemish Movement

The present work deals with an analysis of a political and constitutional organization of the federal Kingdom of Belgium from the Flemish point of view. Firstly, this text focuses on developments, trends and selected determinants of the historical position of the Flemish community in the framework of the Belgian state. It is mainly devoted to capture and identify several relevant requirements of the Flemish movement which have risen of the language and cultural context of the Belgian reality. Gradually, their economical and political plane has been found. Furthermore, the work looks closer to the dynamic process of the institutional transformation of the original unitary political system resulting in the federal arrangement. The attention is paid to the decentralization (devolutionary) constitutional reforms starting in the seventies of the twentieth century which were definitely completed by the federalization of the country in 1993 and subsequent revisions. The text also analyzes the character of the institutional environment and the various positions of (language) groups within it. Life of the Czechs in Brussels. Glimpse in the World of the Czech Euro Bureacrats

The thesis provides a glimpse into lives of the Czechs working in the EU institutions. Accent is on the theory of transnationalism as contemporary approach to international migration. The paper focuses on group of migrants for which mobility and high qualification is characteristical as important elements within the current knowledge based society. It deals with migrants who are living their lives in two or more countries at once and who stay in close touch with the country of their origin. Focus of the work is aimed at the concept of temporarity as a key dimension that has influence on strategy, lifestyle and values of the Czech transnational migrants in Brussels. Conclusions are based on qualitative research composed of longterm participant observation, formal semi-structured and informal interviews. The aim of the work is to show the dimenson of temporarity by using material culture as a method on strategies of living and consumation and also how are the Czechs in Brussels biased by a specific environment of the EU institutions. Further to find out whether it is possible to consider Czech migrants as transnational migrants with regards to the definition of transnational migration and following the relationship to the Czech Republic and Belgium, contacts with home. Contributions of Czech Centres with a focus on the promotion of export activities - the example of Belgium

The objective of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the contributions of Czech Centres with a focus on promotion of export activities and to suggest possible strategies for the improvement. More detailed analysis is specialized on Czech Centre in Brussels. At first, the theoretical basis of Czech Centres is defined together with their administrative and organizational structure, funding and target groups. Then, the activities of Czech Centres are analysed with a focus on promotion of export activities. That analysis includes detailed focus on the contribution of website www.export.cz - its existence was initiated by Czech Centre. Further activities of Czech Centres are evaluated through SWOT analysis and the Strategy for 2012 - 2015. In conclusion, the thesis focuses on the activities of Czech Centre in Brussels with the concentration on promotion of export activities together with the specific strategic proposals to improve its promotion of export policy.
Belgium ahead of break-up of the state? Barriers for founding of two sovereign states

Language and economic conflict in the Kingdom of Belgium is worth observing because of one reason. It is a conflict splitting society of a founding state of the European Union. Disputes concerning identity have been running directly in the middle of today's Europe, where, by contrast, a tendency of deeper integration has prevailed. This bachelor thesis deals with the conflict between the Flemings and the Walloons in order to define barriers that unite Belgian society and prevent the break-up of the state. The cleavage theory, applied to the conflict in Belgium in following chapters, is explained in the first part of the thesis. The second and the third part are focused on the conflict evolution and its current state. The fourth part occupies with the barriers that make it possible for the Belgian state to maintain its existence.
Development and work of the Representation Office of South Bohemian region

This thesis describe the development and the work of the Southbohemian Permanent Office in Brussels. The regional representations are established in the centre of Europe mainly to facilitate the development of region. Brussels is the place of decision making and receiving of the proposals and it is very important for regions to be there. A part of work consist of the comparison of the offices from different member states. The comparison brings the different view of regional representation in the area of fonctioning, organization, activities and cooperation.
Social and economical influence of the European institutions and their activities on Belgium

The bachelor thesis analyzes social and economical influence of the European institutions on Belgium. Text is divided into three parts. First chapter shows historical development of the presence of the European institutions in Belgium and present Belgium itself.Second chapter introduces cultural policies of EU and their influence on Belgium and culture of Belgium. Third chapter focuses on economical, social and demographic influence of the European institutions. This is analyzed separately for Brussels and Belgium.
