This bachelor thesis's main aim is to familiarize the reader with specifics of function of Pilsen?s non-profit organisation JOHAN - centre for cultural and social projects - on the basis of a case study observing development, history, operation, dramaturgy, finances and activities of this organisation. It shows the ways in which cultural-social centre differs from other cultural centres. It maps important aspects necessary for emergence of such an institution and for securing its operations. It points out the benefits and drawbacks of gradual development and necessary professionalization of the organisation. Last but not least the thesis deals in particular with the unique space former train station of Pilsen's South suburb, called the Moving Station, which emerged as one of the first cultural-industrial spaces in the Czech Republic. The thesis also observes the benefits of JOHAN's membership in cultural networks of Trans Europe Halls and the "Nova sit" network. The thesis should also serve as an inspiration for dealing with operations, finances and production cases in nascent organisations of similar aims in other localities and cities.
Cultural Diplomacy as an Instrument of Foreign Policy of the Russia Federation. Case Study: Slovakia

The diploma thesis is focused on defining the place of cultural diplomacy and concepts of soft power and nation branding in the foreign policy of the Russian Federation, as since the end of the Cold War importance of culture and cultural diplomacy in international relations has started to grow. It analyses the question whether cultural diplomacy as part of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation contributes to increase attractiveness and positive image abroad. To determine positives, negatives and exploit the potential, SWOT analysis was applied. In the case study the position of Slovakia in the cultural diplomacy of the Russian Federation with regard to problem areas of cooperation is defined. It also includes analysis of the activity, its results and major projects of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Bratislava.
Possibilities of utilising cultural potential of city Znojmo

This thesis describes and assesses possibilities of a better utilization of historical, artistic and social attractions of city Znojmo with emphasis on heritage tourism. It assesses possibilities of development of city Znojmo on basis of interviews with local artists, list of local attractions and the current plans of city development. Furthermore, it uses these information to point out current flaws and proposes solutions in order to improve city development. The main sources of information for this thesis are interviews with local people and own findings beside literature survey.
The Role of Local Government for the Protection of Cultural Values

The diploma thesis sets out to deal with the role of local governments for the protection of cultural values. The theoretical part discusses what cultural values are, what are their contributions and why it is necessary to protect them. This is followed by the analysis of instruments and institutions regarding the protection of culture values in the Czech Republic with the focus on Prague, being a significant cultural centre with many cultural values within its territory. It can be seen that local governments have many options on how to protect their cultural values, for which their level of initiative is crucial. The Prague government has many institutions and instruments aiming to protect the cultural values of the area, however there are some shortcomings. The most current one is a missing updated cultural strategy in Prague. From a long-term point of view, it can also be seen that there is a decline in spending on culture and lack of education and awareness in the cultural sphere.

This thesis aims to define international team and conflicts and identify the essential competencies for a manager and employee of international teams. It is argued that everyone in an international team should possess more skills and competencies than those who belong to homogeneous teams. As a result, representatives of international team must be able to understand culturally diverse backgrounds manage conflicts constructively, and comprehend different strategies to handle sensitive cases. The research begins by reviewing literature on culture, cultural dimensions in the team and conflict. A survey was performed on 167 individuals from various cultural backgrounds to analyze their attitudes towards multicultural teams and their managers. Some findings are in accordance with theories and some show different interesting opinions experienced pragmatically by the respondents. Eventually, the author based on the results obtained from the empirical research and the theoretical literatures has created a recommendation.
The cultural societies of Milevsko and their influence on the transformation

The aim of this thesis is to approach the cultural life of the small town in the 19. century, which was based on activities of artistic and entertainment societies. Defined period maps the most successful era of the societies, by that is possible to find a contemporary mentality of the citizens of Milevsko. Because of the increased interest about this topic, this research could be a comparative element for another scholars. Concept of this thesis is focused on three most active societies Beseda, Čtenářsko-ochotnická jednota and Vlastislav. The first part of the thesis contains a description of used methods and sources and literature. Research continues by the chapter about general association in the Czech lands, evolution of the term "Society" and history of Milevsko in the 19. and 20. centuries. This particular research is dealing with the activities of chosen societies and follows their history - first as a whole and then individually. Thesis is focused especially on cultural activities, which were connected with the citizens and that's why there is hardly any description of changes in the committees or internal official agendas. At the end, there is a short analysis of working of political control of cultural activities in Milevsko by the local Vedení veřejné osvětové služby and a chapter about the feedbacks of society's activities in the local periodics.
The analysis of the current transformation of Prague theaters as step to liberalization market of theater

Bachelor thesis aims to defend the transformation of Prague's theaters established as a contributory organizations into another legal form and proposes appropriate measures to improve the current system of financing theaters. The paper analyzes the system of financing culture in the Czech Republic, as well as the system itself financing theaters in Prague. Following are analyzed performance in Prague theaters established as contributory organizations and other five operating theaters in Prague are analyzed subsequently. For completeness, the context is devoted to the promotion of theaters in Vienna, Berlin and London. Based on the findings, the paper suggests suitable measures to improve the financing of theaters in Prague.

The thesis describes the theory of culture, national culture, prejudice, our perception of other cultures and measurement of cultural differences through cultural dimensions. The work focuses mainly on cultural standards method. There are detected the czech-russian cultural standards and in the theses is provided comparison of these standards with the prejudices of the Czechs against the Russians. The main objective of this work was to develop recommendations for Czech students going for studyies to Russia.

The research hopes to provide a deeper understanding of the leading countries in the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) region from a culture sensitive marketing perspective. The aim of this work is to provide a pilot study upon which more critical national culture studies are to be introduced.The purpose of this dissertation is four-fold: 1) To discuss the proper methodology for the research; 2) to replicate the original study in order to suggest the values for the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia; 3) to introduce the marketing application theoretical framework for the original study, and 4) to translate the results to marketing scholars and practitioners.
