Hornyak, Tomáš ; Skořepa, Michal (referee) ; Molnár, Karol (advisor)
This Master´s thesis deals especially with exploration of the handover process and with searching for ways of in?uencing this process. The goal of this thesis is to create tools for recording of access point utilization and in?uence the handover of wireless clients based on the obtained data. An access point with open ?rmware, which allows low-level management, was necessary for practical tests. First chapter deals with a survey of current o?er of open ?rmware available for access points and then the appropriate candidate for this thesis is chosen – the OpenWRT project. Second chapter deals with the con?guration of OpenWRT system and basic settings of the chosen wireless router – TP-Link TL-WR1043ND. Next chapter deals with analysis of the handover process in wireless networks. Information obtained by this analysis is used during the creation of the graphic application. The fourth chapter presents the basics of Microsoft Native Wi-Fi API and introduces basic functions used by this API. Those functions were used during the creations of the application. Last two chapters present the created graphic application. The ?fth chapter deals with the application design and examination of its functionality and used functions. Last chapter then documents usability of the application in real environment.
QoS simulating of wireless network in OPNET
Rágula, Michal ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Vlach, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor work is project and simulation of wireless network with the Quality of Service (QoS) support. It is composed of two parts, the theoretical and the practical one. In the first part there are analyzed findings needed for understanding the existing problems. The second part describes project in detail and setup of network. The theoretical part presents division and format of wireless networks, especially Wi-Fi settings, which is defined by IEEE 802.11 standard. The biggest attention is paid to IEEE 802. 11e standard, which improves the so-called Media Access control MAC (sublayer of line layer) with extension of the QoS (Quality of Service) support in wireless local networks. This standard is important for delay sensitive applications like Voice over Wireless IP and current multimedia. The practical part describes design of wireless network in Opnet Modeler settings and configurations of particular components for the right utility. The required quality of service (QoS) support is achieved by authorization of HCF (Hybrid Coordination Function) protocol at all operating stations and AP access points. It was necessary to make two models. First of them supported the QoS service. On the other hand the same service was inaccessible for the second one. Statistics are made by comparison of final graphs of these two models.

This master´s thesis deal with designing of the system for ZigBee wireless network monitoring. In the first, treoretical part, is reader introduced to this wireless standard. Acquired informations are possible to compare with the simillar wireless standards. Next part of this document describes procedure of designing harward part of modular system - motherboard and scanning module. In this place is so discussion about component parameters, which are very needed to keep. One part of this discussion is about the problems with wrong component parameters. The last part of this master´s thesis is about software part of this project and so shows designed system in work.
Minimizing the effect of interference on wireless network
Doležal, Jan ; Kyselák, Martin (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned the technology with technologies of transfer through wireless devices. It is about possibilities of optimization of transfer in wireless net, especially of the reduction of interference influence. The first part is about theory and the standards development of wireless technology. There are methods and principles used in wireless technologies. The second part is a practical measuring and testing of an internal wireless net, with the emphasis being on the source of interference influence. Measuring was focused on interference between access points and was not about meteorological influence. It continues with theory and testing of interference of the microwave oven in our wireless net. Then, it is a practical demonstration of interference in an external environment. There are practical examples of interference between different providers’ nets on the same area and solutions to prevent or to cancel this interference. In next part of work the wireless net is parsed and described in a given territory. Here is described the way how to precede the reciprocal interference and eventually how this mutual disturbance suppress. Consequently, our net is optimized for customer growth and for today’s options of newer and more powerful components for wireless transfer. Finally there are two laboratory tasks. The first one is about practical measuring and testing of wireless net’s parameters and the second one is about simulation of wireless networks in the Opnet program.
Mechanisms of QoS assurance in fixed, wireless and mobile data networks
Václavek, Radovan ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Molnár, Karol (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with mapping technologies and base parameters used to guarantee the quality of systems in the local area networks, including wireless and mobile ones. I have focused mainly on requests and classifications, which are typical for the types of networks on link layer. In Ethernet I focused on the gradual trends in the fore mentioned technologies and IEEE 802.1Q and connected IEEE 802.1p standards included. The next part describes the quality of systems in wireless nets in different types of environments and again uses given standards for quality of systems guarantee in 802.11e and connected 802.11a/b/g standards. The next part focuses on the latest generations of mobile nets, looking at the types and trends of the latest technologies. Here I draw from standard project 3GPP, which describes the problems with these technological developments. The next part focuses on WiMAX technologies. In the penultimate paragraph, the constituent network technologies are compared from the view of securing QoS and I propound possible ways of securing coversion of constituent technologies. The conclusion summarises all the technologies I have mentioned and the future trends including possible problems and challenges with these latest technologies.
The Construction and Usage of Smaller Computer Networks
Straka, Martin ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to document the gradual building of a computer network and its functioning including the theory necessary to create a step-by-step guide for doing so. The theory concerning foresaid funcionality was gained via the use of internet resources and the literature mentioned in the document itself and the practical part is based on the use of resources similar to the ones available at the workplace designed for its use. The document itself is about designing the correct network usable for a small business which is however capable of using higher tiers of client-server network functionality and the traffic monitoring available to it. The second goal is to choose and set up such network services which are crucial or auxiliary for the business core funcionality and the final part is about expanding such small network using VPN.
