Configuration of the powertrain of a flat-eight engine with ordered basic parameters is the theme of this thesis which name is Powertrain design of an eight-cylinder aircraft engine. This thesis occupies with configuration design of the crank mechanism and firing order, balancing of centrifugal and reciprocating forces and their moments, conceptual design of crankshaft and its stress calculation. This thesis also puts mind to calculation of torsional vibrations.

First part describes technical solutions of dampers of torsional vibrations. Second part contains torsional vibrations analysis of crankshaft without damper. The last part of this thesis describes design of rubber damper and torsional vibrations analysis of crankshaft with damper.

The aim of my work is to find the reasons for the piston defect, to check the most stressed parts by strength calculation and suggest a possible structural design so that the piston withstands all stresses throughout the required lifespan.

The engines of enduro motorcycles have been partly compared with motocross motorcycle engines

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of diesel engine TATRA from their inception to the present. It focuse on the construction of engines and construction of the disparity of their development. Gives an overview of their own construction of engines and their technical solutions. Compares the structural design of each engine in a chronological sequence of their formation and subsequent production. Informs on the composition and function of individual systems engines, changes in their composition and modernization. Provides examples of differences in the various engine components. Creating insight on the issue of engine construction as a whole and each of its systems and subsequent comparison of the impact of engines on the environment. Explains the basic concepts from the construction of diesel engines and their components. The theses target is to provide an overview of construction solutions of TATRA engines, depending on the time of their inception and requirements for diesel engines today.

In the second section deals specially with toothed belt systems – construction of toothed belts, their types, marking, most frequent failure, tension and guide. In the last section is showed real solution of timming belt drive.

The bachelor work deals with the rating of clink mechanism in combustion engine. The work is divided into three main parts. The first part pays attention to the recent situation of engine construction in today's passenger cars. The second one describes the construction and material composition of each parts of crank mechanism. The last part concentrates not only on the evaluation of the defects which arise on the crank mechanism, but also describes their dividing according to the cause of each defect
