The theoretical part of the Thesis is divided into three chapters. Chapter One deals with schizophrenia, its occurrence, origin, diagnostics, clinical symptoms, types and treatment. Chapter Two is dedicated to the client with schizophrenia, his/her position in the legal system, relationship between a person suffering from schizophrenia and his/her family, communication with a person suffering from schizophrenia and organization of health care and social care.Chapter Three of the theoretical part contains information on stigmatization, including stigmatization by specialists, by self-branding and destigmatization.
Possibilities of Training and Implementation of People with a Visual Impairments on the Labor Market
JÍCHOVÁ, Simona
This thesis deals with problems of professional preparation and employment of visually handicapped persons. Employment of handicapped persons is a general problem. Visually handicapped persons belong to group with the least prospect on labour market but it is concurrently clear that they want to be employed. The theoretical part of this thesis is focused to definition of visually handicapped persons including specificities of their development. The second chapter deals with teaching the visually handicapped persons in primary-, secondary- and tertiary education, with attention paid also to the choice of profession. Conclusion of the theoretical part deals with employment of visually handicapped persons and namely with employment policy. The practical part describes concepts of and expectations from employing the visually handicapped persons, motivation to work, a valuation list of the respondent visually handicapped persons and a role of parents in the choice of profession. Furthermore, it describes accomplishments necessary for job finding gained by the respondent visually handicapped persons, opinions on possible causes of unemployment of visually handicapped persons and supporting mechanisms of employing such persons, utilized by particular respondents. Research was carried out in a form of dialogue with six visually handicapped respondents with handicaps in the range of amblyopia and sightlessness. One of the main goals of this thesis was to monitor study possibilities for visually handicapped persons. The next goal was to find out what were the problems of visually handicapped persons during their studies, what was perceived as obstacles during studies, during the choice of profession or, appropriately, during pursuance of the profession. A problem may be in wrong choice of the school e.g. due to insufficient self-confidence of the handicapped person and low confidence of the family and teachers. Prejudice of the employers is an important and still persisting problem, as well as the lack of job opportunities for visually handicapped persons. In my opinion, the possibilities for employment of visually handicapped persons do improve but there are persisting barriers mainly in the attitudes of intact people and potential employers. They are frequently affected by insufficient information on the support and possibilities of employing persons with visual handicap. The attitude of the nowaday´s society placing emphasis on quickness and quantity plays its role also. With visually handicapped persons it is necessary to build up their self-confidence already since their childhood. Contemporarily, it would be appropriate to enhance the awareness of potential employers, what could be provided by means of media and seminars. Cooperation of intact pupils with visually handicapped ones could be carried out at schools. It would be necessary to perceive the handicap as something common already since the childhood. However, to change thinking of the society may still last long.

International agreements, Czech constitutional law and labour code ensure an equal treatment in a job, equal chances and the right to have satisfactory work conditions. Furthermore it is stipulated that handicapped persons can claim a higher level of health protection when working, special work conditions, special protection in work relations and assistance in career preparation in order to prevent discrimination. Even though the society provides higher protection to handicapped people, problems with their employment are still deepening. The objective of the present diploma thesis was to give an insight in this situation. A sub-goal was to ascertain employers{\crq} comments on the benefits which are provided by the Labour Office in České Budějovice. The supposed hypothesis to the main goal has not been confirmed by the research. Specificity of work in sheltered workshops and possibilities of their services in the Czech republic and USA.
JINDROVÁ, Zdeňka
Taking care of people with disabilities is dated back to history. Nowadays there are many ways how to take care, socialize and integrate people with special needs. For people with some handicap there are number of fences at the same time, which are impossible to break through without help of the other people. We can also find out that people with disabilities are exposed to some kinds of discrimination. The most severe fence for those people is that they have got nearly closed access to the labour market. People with disabilities belong in disadvantaged groups at the labour market and they are suffering from long-term unemployment. Sheltered workshops are one way how to integrate those people. People with health problems and with changed working ability work there. Working in the sheltered workshops isn{\crq}t only earning money. It is also a place where especially the disabled people can become members of society and can gain new experience. I tried to find out similarities and differences in running of chosen sheltered workshops. Based on my stay in Massachusetts, USA I chose to concentrate on describing non-government, non-profit organization called Road to Responsibility, Inc. In the Czech Republic I chose for the same purpose Domov sv. Anežky, o.p.s. in Týn nad Vltavou. In theoretical part of thesis, I concentrate on the problems of disability. I am describing history of care of people with disabilities, the types of disability, socialization and last, but not least jobs opportunities and self{--}fulfillment of peoplewith disabilities. The practical section of thesis is divided into two parts. In part one I am describing running of the chosen companies and their sheltered workshops and in part two I am graphically displaying found information. I chose to do research two different ways. The first one was secondary data analysis and content analysis. I also collected information from interviews, in which I talked to employees and managers of the workshops. Before I started collecting data I chose what information I want to find out, what documents I want to study so I will get the result I wanted {--} to find out the similarities and differences of the chosen workshops in USA and in Czech Republic. The information were e.g. rights and obligations of the clients, the founders of those companies, what do they offer, personal security, qualifications of employees, rates of pay for people with disabilities and last but not least what types of workshops each organization runs. Based on the information I collected, I realized, that certain differences between Road to Responsibility and Domov sv. Anežky exists. The main difference is different rates of pay for people with disability for their work. Another difference is how the rights of clients are exercise. I can declare that both my hypothesis were correct. I am convinced, that my work points out the similarities and differences, which exist in sheltered workshops in the Czech Republic and USA. But of course it is not the whole view of how the community works.
