Diagnostics and monitoring of transport networks
Maurerová, Lenka ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Krkoš, Radko (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with monitoring and diagnostics of transport networks. It focuses on basic diagnostic and surveillance tools, and tools which are developed in the project of Internet2. It is focused on the evaluation of the measurements performed by these tools with a focus on external factors and substandard conditions and their impact on the measurement results.
Secure Transport of NetFlow and IPFIX Records
Štěpánek, Adam ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Podermański, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with an IP flow based data network monitoring system. It presents the architecture of the NetFlow based monitoring, explains the basic terms, the NetFlow protocol and its alternatives. Further, weak spots of the monitoring systems are determined and a conceptual solution is proposed. This solution is implemented and described in detail. Finally, testing methods and results are discussed and the possibilities of further development and optimization are proposed.
Radius Monitoring Using IPFIX
Vyskočil, Pavel ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Matoušek, Petr (advisor)
This barchelor thesis is focused on monitoring RADIUS traffic in the computer network based on IPFIX technology. A new input plugin for the FlowMon probe from the INVEA-TECH company was created using the acquiered knowledge about the RADIUS traffic and the possibilities of the IPFIX protocol. During the tests, the implemented plugin showed the ability to detect and process RADIUS comunication in the LAN network.
Network Monitor for Gnome
Hrozek, Jakub ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Vojnar, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis presents a new network monitoring application for the Linux operating system. It is the first graphical application with such functionality which monitors wide range of network traffic aspects and operates in graphical environment. It is integrated into the GNOME desktop environment and is also integrated into Fedora Linux distribution. The thesis discusses similar existing tools, the key part of the thesis is design, implementation and testing of the application.
Network and Application Response Time Monitoring
Sagál, Peter ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with analysis of requirements, design and implementation of application for monitoring of network, network components and application's response time, network components and applications. Document will introduce two basic methods of monitoring and analysis of network responses - passive and active monitorng, which is the basis of suggested application that provides a web interface for management and presentation of monitoring results.
Information System for Fair User Policy Management
Horčička, Jakub ; Kaštovský, Petr (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents methods for monitoring network activity with an aim to Cisco Systems NetFlow technology. Following chapters describe implementation of an information system that uses this technology especially for making the stats about particular users and allows checking of rules and data limits determined in ofeered tarifes.
Web Portal for Network Traffic Reporting
Krebs, Lukáš ; Straka, Martin (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with creating a web portal for generating statistics about the network traffic. There is presented the NetFlow technology, which is used in this thesis. Then there is described tho whole development process from analysis, design and implementation of the system to its testing. The whole program is created in languages XHTML, CSS, PHP and uses a MySQL database for a data storage. For a data mining is used NfDump.
Automated Generating of Processing Elements for FPGA
Lengál, Ondřej ; Tobola, Jiří (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
Some information processing applications, such as computer networks monitoring, need to continuously perform processing of rapidly incoming data. As the speed of the incoming data increases, it is desirable to perform the processing in the hardware. This work proposes a configuration system that generates a VHDL specification of a hardware data processing circuit based on a user-provided definition of data and computation operations. The system focuses on network traffic monitoring in multi-gigabit computer networks.
Web Portal for Network Traffic Reporting
Zapletal, Petr ; Straka, Martin (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and implementation of web portal with reports about network traffic. This system is designed for easy network monitoring with transparent charts a tables. To obtain statistics from network traffic, NetFlow technology, which is the key part of system, is used. Portal is platform independent and is built around HTML and PHP technologies. Portal also allows export proccessed data through periodic email service or files in PDF format.
Hardware Acceleration of Protocol Identification
Kobierský, Petr ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
Dynamic growth of computer networks encourages rapid development of network applications and services. To provide sufficient network service quality, it is important to limit some network flows based on their application protocol type. This thesis deals with the methods of network protocol identification and discusses their accuracy and suitability for multigigabit networks.  Based on the analysis, a protocol identification model was created and evaluated. The model was used for the design of hardware architecture accelerating computationally intensive operations of protocol identification.  The proposed solution is able to work on 10 Gb/s networks and export protocol information using NetFlow protocol.
