Use of Price Discrimination in the International Markets

The diploma thesis is focused on price discrimination of a selected company operating in an international environment. The work is divided into three main parts. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the key concepts and characteristics necessary to understand the issues related to the topic of the thesis. The analytical part of the work is focused on the description of the current state of the company in selected foreign markets. The proposal part of the work used the method of multiple regression analysis and also presents possible proposals and recommendations for price discrimination in individual foreign markets with regard to the purchasing power of individual countries.

The thesis is aimed at making specific recommendations on price discrimination for a company operating in international markets. These recommendations are supported by calculations of purchasing power parity, price elasticity of demand and analyses of primary and secondary data from European markets. The thesis is structured in three main parts, the first dealing with the theoretical background, the second with the company and the selected markets and the last part with the recommendations themselves.

Concepts such as monopoly, oligopoly, monopolistic competition and price discrimination will be discussed. In the analytical part, the knowledge from the theoretical part will be used, which solves the issue of the telecommunications market in the case of imperfect competition, which will be solved by me.
Utilization of Product Price Discrimination on the Global Market

The subject of the diploma thesis is to devise and apply an effective method of price discrimination of online educational courses on the market of the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. The author bases these proposals on calculations of purchasing power parity, price level and analysis of local markets in selected countries. Furthermore, the connection of gross domestic product per capita in the standard of purchasing power and other macroeconomic indicators - inflation and unemployment - will be examined. Based on the obtained results, possible ways of price discrimination will be proposed.

The work is focused on explaining price formation and the issue of price discrimination. First, the work deals with the description of the theoretical basis for a better understanding of the issue. It deals with consumer behavior, the elasticity of demand, and price formation in international markets. Furthermore, the work focuses in more detail on the economic nature of price discrimination and its types. In the practical part, this diploma thesis contains examples of specific price discrimination of selected products. Based on the information obtained, it then offers suggestions and recommendations.
A critical price analysis on the imperfect competitive market

Perfect competition can be considered as a theoretical state. For this reason, this work is focused on the imperfectly competitive market and pricing in it. The aim is to investigate in more detail how specific companies with elements of monopoly use their position to determine the price for their product and price discrimination - they are so-called price makers. The work analyzes specific approaches to the pricing strategy of these companies.

Cenová strategie firmy pod vlivem rozvoje digitálních technologií

Článek popisuje vliv digitálních technologií a jejich využití v cenových strategiích firem. Jejich rozvojem došlo ke změnám v cenových strategiích především v sektoru služeb. Technologie umožnily zavedení dynamické ceny, která výrazně zvýšila obrat leteckých společností. Prostřednictvím digitálních technologií můžeme získat široké spektrum informací o klientech a díky tomu přizpůsobit cenu konkrétnímu zákazníkovi. Budoucnost využití digitálních technologií je pak ve výrobních podnicích. Personalizace produktu na základě mnoha dostupných informací o zákaznících, proměna produktu téměř ve službu a využití digitálních technologií přispěje výrazně ke změně cenových strategií ve výrobních podnicích. Článek vychází ze zdrojů sekundárního výzkumu (rešerše literatury). Cíl článku: Cílem článku je prozkoumat vliv digitálních technologií na změnu cenových strategií. Jejich exponenciální rozvoj umožňuje podnikům efektivněji nastavit ceny pro zákazníky, a to díky většímu objemu informací, které o zákaznících firma díky digitálním technologiím zjistí. Prvním průkopníkemvyužití technologií v rámci cenotvorby jsou letecké společnosti, které dnes přizpůsobují cenu konkrétnímu zákazníkovi. Dílčími cíli je pak prozkoumat, jak v budoucnu budou digitální technologie ovlivňovat podniky a jejich cenové strategie.

We have defined few main objectives. The first objective is to introduce reader to loyalty programmes from the marketing perspective. The next aim is to describe the impact of customer loyalty programmes on firms and customers from the perspective of microeconomic theory. The third objective is to compare conclusions of theoretical models with the results of relevant empirical analyses. The last aim is to depict customer loyalty programmes as a principal-agent problem and draw the conclusions.
