Geolocation in Internet using latency measurements
Harth, Petr ; Balej, Jiří (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is concerned with practical realization of CBG (Constraint-based Geolocation) algorithm, which is one of the IP (Internet Protocol) geolocation technique. IP geolocation determines the localization of a computer workstation location on the basis of on its IP address. The factors causing delays in data transfer are discussed first, followed by discussion of the issue of measuring these delays. The detailed explanation of IP geolocation follows where its contexts as well as the active geolocation techniques (techniques based on delay measurement mentioned above) are described. After that a brief description of PlanetLab experimental network, which was used for geolocation techniques measuring, is presented followed by a section explaining the creation of reference points and targets, which are another necessary prerequisite for practical realization of the method. Then the practical realization is explained in the form of CBGfinder program and its verification on the basis of artificial input data along with an actual example of IP geolocation of a point in the Internet are provided. Last but not least the measurement results of CBG algorithm are introduced, based on the analysis of Bestline parameters of one of the PlanetLab nodes measured in the period of one month, followed by a discussion of the inaccuracy of geological position and the computation speed. The cumulative distribution function as well as the kernel density estimation are also described. Final part of the thesis consists of discussion on measured results compared to results of other geological techniques results implemented by colleagues of the author of this diploma thesis. The results are compared on the basis of average inaccuracy of geological position estimations and its median, computation time, cumulative distribution function and kernel density estimation are also taken into regard.
Geolocation of Internet hosts
Ingr, Michal ; Müller, Jakub (referee) ; Balej, Jiří (advisor)
This master thesis deals with methods of stations’ geolocation on the Internet, it means the estimation geographic location of unknown station, which is conected to this network. The introductory part describes the methods for determining position, which don‘t need any measeruments of the network. The next section is devoted to points, where delay is invoked, to the causes of latency in the Internet, to their types and some usual values. The following part features ways to measure delays and route, including several tools for this purpose. The penulminate section describes some chosen geolocation techniques based on RTT measurement. The final chapter is devoted to practical demonstration geolocation using the CBG method, when the delay measurement was carried out in an experimental PlanetLab network.
The Economic Potential of Selected Geolocation Mobile Applications in the Field of Cultural Tourism of the Czech Republic
Nosák, David Ivan ; Tyslová, Irena (advisor) ; Tittelbachová, Šárka (referee)
The thesis is focused on evaluating the economic potential of geolocation mobile applications in the field of cultural tourism in the Czech Republic. It is divided in two major sections: the theoretical and the practical one. The former provides general insight in the topic while the latter inquires into a sample application named Geocaching. In addition, it involves an illustrative questionnaire utilizable for collecting necessary data in order to measure the expenditure of its users.
Design and implementation of mashup application working with geolocation
Vacek, Zbyšek ; Smutný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Čermák, Radim (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on geolocation and on working with geographic position of user in web applications. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. Subject is firstly introduced with theoretical knowledge which explains basic principles of getting position and working with HTML5 geolocation interface. The thesis discusses types of location based services and the most successful applications working with location of user. The practical part uses theoretical knowledge to develop new application working with location. The result is multipurpose geolocation application.
Use of geolocation in car insurance products
Černá, Kristýna ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (referee)
This thesis focuses on the Geolocation, Marketing and Insurance area. The main objective is to create definition of car insurance product for the market of Czech Republic, which will use the data gained from geolocation for the premiums adjustment. The minor objective of this thesis is to propose appropriate marketing strategy, which could be used while launching product on Czech market. Thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part describes principles of geolocation, provides basic information about several specific car insurance products from Czech Republic and abroad markets. The last part of theoretical section is focused on marketing topic. Practical part of this thesis consists of car insurance product specification. Proposal for optimal marketing strategy and targeted customer groups is also included. The main output of this thesis is definition of new car insurance product, which is currently not available on Czech market. This specification could be used by Products specialists from Czech insurance companies as basis for definition of new car insurance product for Czech market.
The Analysis of Security and Anonymity in Cryptocurrency Payments
Maňák, Michal ; Šebesta, Michal (advisor) ; Bruckner, Tomáš (referee)
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are getting into common usage more and more frequently. Unfortunately this spread is connected with attempts to misuse their principles for personal benefit. The goal of this thesis is to explain the main principles of using bitcoin in relation to the internet identity. This connection is represented by two sources in the thesis: the first is a bitcoin blockchain, the second is the sum of various user profiles used in discussion forums and similar websites. The aim is to create and explain the process how to, by using the combination of this two sources, reveal the identity of a human using cryptocurrencies for payment (from a private person point of view). First, methods used for extraction of correct and useful data from the blockchain and internet profiles must be developed to be able to mine data from the joint database, merging into a full user profile containing personal data. Results of this investigation are extended by the rules of preserving anonymity on the internet, containing both technological and behavioural measures avoiding a share of personal data. The end of this thesis explains possible attack vectors that might be used for compromising cryptocurrencies. The methods of searching of the internet identity are a useful tool for facing these attacks.

The third chapter discuses variants of technologies available for each part of the system. The fourth chapter describes choice of technologies and development of individual parts of the system.
The faceted search technology and its practical use for aggregator of services interface
HONNER, Tomáš
The bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis of properties and options of possible aplication facested search technology and its use in applications such as business intelligence (BI), state-of-the-art implementation description in the form of technology Elastic Search and contain practical proof-of-concept with public available data presentation. As a evidence of the proof-of-concept will serve application based on web technologies geolocation, NodeJS, Elastic Search and Google Maps API. The proof-of-concept passing the entire development cycle from the development of research, creating a patterns, use case diagrams until implementation, testing and final evaluation.
Mobile marketing
KLEČKOVÁ, Zuzana
The main aim of this thesis was to provide a comprehensive overview of the mobile marketing and analyze selected campaigns of Czech mobile marketing in comparison to world successful campaigns. The research contained studying of available literature about the theme to gain general knowledge about the issue. The theoretical part of the thesis contains predominantly various definitions of mobile marketing and its tools, advantages of these tools and some information about Mobile Marketing Association, new technologies and trends in the branch of mobile marketing. In the practical part five campaigns were evaluated according to available statistics and to subjective view of the author of this thesis.
The use of HTML5 in web development
Hanyš, Pavel ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Mittner, Jan (referee)
Currently, on the Internet we can see most of the time clasic website that offer multimedia content to users in the form of texts, pictures and videos or favorite e-shops to enable the purchase of various goods from the comfort of home. More and more we can see website sites, or applications that provide the user with a specific service. This thesis describes a new modern approaches for creating web sites and applications using the latest version of the markup language HTML, which is HTML5. The work is primarily intended for Web developers and encoders, which should provide an overview and basic information in the field of web applications. The acquired knowledge would be to simplify and streamline the work and especially to save time, which can undo web users in the form of new features. The result of their work can be faster, more comfortable user web application (website) that fully exploit potential of web browsers.
