Mozilla as a Development Platform
Vídeňský, Martin ; Schäfer, Jiří (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with introduction of Mozilla as a development platform. Thesis is divided into four parts. The first one consists of a theoretical introduction, which describes architecture, the most important technologies and motivation for usage of Mozilla as a development platform. The second part leads step by step threw making own project. The third part is dedicated to description of the example application Tester. Tester is an e-learning project designed for easier learning process with scope on vocabulary practise. In the conclusion of thesis, there is the evaluation of Mozilla platform based on practical experience.
Transformation of Web Applications into Web Services
Zámečník, Miroslav ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Weiss, Petr (advisor)
Present web is aiming to the possibility of automatization of user behavior on web applications. Adding of semantics and creation of web service interface are the main approaches for accomplishment of this user comfort. Nevertheless, this direction brings some problems which can make more difficult publishing and implementation of web documents. Web services can connect heterogeneous systems, because they are based on XML markup language that is a place where all applications can meet without lost of platform independence. The automatic transformation of a web application into a web service could be considerably more effective than to create a web service from the beginning. However, this step is for some applications almost unreal without knowledge of their inner structure. In most cases, the transformation will be done semiautomatically with help of human decisions.
Ontology-Based Data Sharing among Information Systems
Hák, Lukáš ; Květoňová, Šárka (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This thesis describes data sharing between information systems based on ontologies. In the first chapter shows up the term ontology and used terminology. Then this thesis analyses used basic methods, onthological languages and partially describes semantic web. In the third chapter are write out  utilities and plugins which are used for working with ontologies. The other chapters describe created ontology which are useful for car-selling. Especially ontology with cars, sellers and addresses . At the end of the thesis is explained suggested instrument to transfer existing XML to recording advertising in OWL language.
Comparison of RDF Databases
Chatrný, Jakub ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Milička, Martin (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is compare of several RDF stores Blazegraph, Jena TDB and Stardog. Design of test suites is based on existings benchmarks. In the designed test suites are monitored execution time and number of results. The testing criteria of stores also include the time required to create persistent store and its size. All tested stores and the program for testing itself are implemented in Java.
Methods of Information Extraction
Adamček, Adam ; Smrž, Pavel (referee) ; Kouřil, Jan (advisor)
The goal of information extraction is to retrieve relational data from texts written in natural human language. Applications of such obtained information is wide - from text summarization, through ontology creation up to answering questions by QA systems. This work describes design and implementation of a system working in computer cluster which transforms a dump of Wikipedia articles to a set of extracted information that is stored in distributed RDF database with a possibility to query it using created user interface.
Digital Library
Krbeček, Daniel ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The thesis contains basic information about image documents digitalization. A brief list of common used standards in Czech republic is shown. The standards can be used in description of digitalized documents by institutions such as libraries, scientific departments and universities. The thesis specifically solves the dilemma of the preservation and the accessing of B.P.Molls large map collection stored in Moravian Library in Brno city. It analyses step by step the characteristics of the saved documents, style of their interlacing and data representation. In terms of deposition and manipulation it comes with description list of open-source digital libraries and it chooses the Fedora repository. It solves methods of object-model implementation while using this digital library. The functional parts are web presentation of the mentioned map collection and an effectiveness test showing large-scale maps using the flash Zoomify browser. Web presentation uses the repository services as often as possible, and thus allows searching and searching through the bibliographic records of the presented documents. The end of the thesis sums up the obtained results and presents the incoming development course of presentation and popularization of the map collection.
Ontology of Building Accessibility
Hazuza, Petr ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Mynarz, Jindřich (referee)
Within the project Maps without Barriers realized under Charta 77 Foundation - Barriers Account, in 2015 we intend to map accessibility of buildings and its premises from the perspective of people with limited mobility. We plan to inspect nearly 600 castles, palaces and other tourist attractions in the Czech Republic. The acquired data will be gathered and published as an on-line map in form of open and machine-readable data. It will also appear as Linked Open Data. However, the project will not end with mapping premises, the main objective is to provide a solid foundation for a unified database of accessibility of buildings and its premises. Negotiations with institutions and organizations interested in mapping are in progress and we try to offer them our project platform for publication of their data. The required RDFS vocabulary will be designed and carried out as part of this diploma thesis. It will be tested on the data from a number of forms describing existing objects. The data will be gathered by means of services designed in terms of this theses and provided for purchasers and users equally.
Web application using the Linked Open Data
Le Xuan, Dung ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Kučera, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of open data. The aim is to introduce to reader the currently very popular topic. Linking these data together gives us more advantages and opportuni-ties, however a large number of open data datasets are published in the format that cannot be linked together. Therefore, the author put great emphasis into his work on Linked Data. Emphasis is not placed only on the emergence, current status and future development, but also on the technical aspect. First, readers will be familiar with theoretical concepts, principles of Linked Open Data, expansion of open government data in the Czech Republic and abroad. In the next chapter, the author aimed at the data formats RDF, SPARQL language, etc. In the last section, the author introduce to readers the tools to work with Linked Open Data and design sample application using the Linked Open Data. The benefit of the whole work is a comprehensive view of the Linked Open Data both from a theoretical and from a practical part. The main goal is to provide to readers quality introduction to the issue.
Transformation and publication of Open and Linked Data
Nohejl, Petr ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Kučera, Jan (referee)
The principle of Open Data and Linked data is in growing interest of many organizations, developers and even government institutions. This work is aimed on providing actual information about development of Open and Linked data, further there are introduced featured tools for creating, manipulating, transformation and other operations regarding Open and Linked Data. Finally, there is description of development of Linked Data application based on universal visualization system Payola.
Bulk extraction of public administration data to RDF
Pomykacz, Michal ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Mynarz, Jindřich (referee)
The purpose of this work was to deal with data extraction from various formats (HTML, XML, XLS) and transformation for further processing. As the data sources were used Czech public contracts and related code lists and classifications. Main goal was to implement periodic data extraction, RDF transformation and publishing the output in form of Linked Data using SPARQL endpoint. It was necessary to design and implement extraction modules for UnifiedViews tool as it was used for periodic extractions. Theoretical section of this thesis explains the principles of linked data and key tools used for data extraction and manipulation. Practical section deals with extractors design and implementation. Part describing extractor implementation shows methods for parsing data in various dataset formats and its transformation to RDF. The success of each extractor implementation is presented at the conclusion along with thought of usability in a real world.
