Power control of combustion engines
Slavík, Tomáš ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
The main subject of this dissertation is a comparison between different methods of controlling the output in compression and spark ignition engines in light of economic- ecological parameters, effects on engine functioning as well as vibrations. Main types of power control, their principle, advantages and disadvantages are presented in the text. There are several comparative simulations described and presented at the end of this work that were created by using a multi-body system. Calculation of parameters and simulations were selected to approximate resulting values to real values as much as possible.
Conceptual design of two-seat high performance car
Straka, Martin ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
is diploma thesis deals with design concept of two-seater sports car with the main focus on chassis torsional stiffness and axle kinematics. The main idea started with some paper sketches which were later transferred to the 3D model with all the main parts (engine, differential, driver etc.) using CATIA V5 design program. Then the torsional stiffness was counted using FEM software ANSYS 12.0. Finally the axis geometry during bump/rebump movement of the wheel was simulated in MBS system ADAMS 2007.
Continuous mathematical models of population dynamics
Pecka, Luboš ; Opluštil, Zdeněk (referee) ; Franců, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the most frequent models describing population dynamics and then to perform some numerical experiments in the MATLAB environment. These simulations should validate our theoretical results. The models are sorted from the basic models to the most complicated and are divided into the models which describe dynamics of one population and models of coexistence of two biological species. The master's thesis icludes also a program for drawing graphs and trajectories of solutions of models described in this thesis including a description of this MATLAB program.
Loudspeaker System for Laboratory Measurements of Polar Patterns
Morkus, Filip ; Káňa, Ladislav (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
In the first part the attention is aiming to the choice of suitable loudspeakers. For this choice it was necessary to set required criteria and parameters. The aim of the system was to have as wide reproducibility range of frequency as possible but on the other hand not to be too large. The other criterion was the quality of the loudspeakers and its price. In the second part there was frequency crossover suggested according to the parameters of the chosen loudspeakers. This was suggested for low frequency spectrum as well as for high frequency spectrum. When determining the dividing frequency there were thought over producer’s recommendations and frequency characteristics of the loudspeakers so that the dividing frequency was not set in the place where the loudspeaker does not have “constant” character. The third part concerns the construction of the loudspeaker case. There one can find more details about the construction of the loudspeaker system called D´Appolito and its constructional requirements. This part was kept to the previous parts because integrating “D´Appolito” needs setting the distance between the loudspeakers according to the dividing frequency. It was also necessary to count with their size. According to the loudspeakers parameters it was possible to calculate the capacity of the loudspeaker case, also its shape was said and geometric proportions were calculated. Then everything was simulated in suitable software. In the last part the complete loudspeaker system was measured in an anechoic room. There were the direction characteristics and frequency characteristics measured there. The results of the measuring were compared with the software simulations.
Evalution of Economic Efficiency of EPC Projects
Vlčová, Zuzana ; Šourek, Bořivoj (referee) ; Korytárová, Jana (advisor)
The issue of energy saving building is a current topic of today. The increasing costs of operating buildings reduce economic efficiency of the organization operations. A large part of the operating cost is energy cost. An effective tool for improving the energy performance of buildings is an EPC method. The implementation of energy projects through EPC is offered by Energy Services Company. This thesis evaluates the economic efficiency of the project implemented by the EPC and analyses its risk factors. The subject of EPC project is modernisation of an energy sector of a hospital building. The economic efficiency of the project is interpreted on the basis of economic indicators Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Profitability Index. There was also performed Monte Carlo simulation supported by Oracle Crystal Ball software within the analysis of risk factors for the project.
Design and Simulation of Micro-Bolometer in MEMS Technology
Dynamic model of the batteries
Milichovský, Miloš ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis includes the basic principles of lead-acid, NiCd, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries. There is a description of their features and phenomena that processes in the batteries during charging and discharging. The most important part is devoted to dynamic models of these types of batteries, the parameters that are necessary for their modeling, and testing of absolute error models. Further, the model in Matlab was created which allows the simulation of the GRID-OFF photovoltaic system using the battery model.
Passive optical networks WDM-PON
Havliš, Ondřej ; Šifta, Radim (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The work deals with optical access networks, passive optical networks, especially WDM-PON. Features a modern solution to connect users to the optical access network using optical FTTx connections. Describes the different types of FTTx connections, their parameters and construction technology. Practical work is a practical application of theory for the development of various design and simulation of WDM-PON networks. Each proposal includes the construction of technical solutions optical access networks, the technology used and the balance of the reduced pricing WDM-PON network. The penultimate part of the work consists of design models simulated WDM-PON networks by the simulation program OptSim. The conclusion deals with the evaluation of individual design and simulation of WDM-PON networks.
Model nonlinear effect in ultrasound fields
Kulík, Tomáš ; Čech, Petr (referee) ; Rozman, Jiří (advisor)
The main topic of this diploma thesis is the modeling of nonlinear effects in ultrasonic fields. The work deals with application of finite difference method (FDTD) on the Westervelt equation and the subsequent creation of the model of ultrasonic fields in MATLAB. This thesis also includes theoretical analysis of ultra-acoustic and technical aspects of diagnostic ultrasonography. In addition, this document includes verification of theoretical assumptions by using created model.
Boundary Nodes Detection in Wireless Sensor Networks
Bocek, Jan ; Vajsar, Pavel (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Theoretical part of thesis describes several known algorithms and new approaches for the bourder node detection in a wireless sensor networks. The new algorithm BRB was inspired by failures of previous algorithms and its major supporting idea is select several neighboring points (B, C). Approach algorithm BRB is a decentralized detection of nodes located at the perimeter. The practical part compares several algorithm with the new BRB algorithm. Quantity of successful and false detection of boundary nodes was evaluated in ideal and real environment. The simulation results shown, that the proposed algorithm is effective solution for accurate border node detection in wireless sensor networks.
