Philosophy of extreme voluntarism (Schopenhauer) and its influence on later authors (Friedrich Nietzche and Ladislav Klima)
LASTOMIRSKÁ, Jana
The work deals with the extreme voluntarism and his influence on later authors. First, is the work of Schopenhauer explained the concept of the metaphysical will. Here is insights will primarily as a form of objectification and the closest is served objectification of the body, understood as object. In next section, this will monitored in philosophy of Ladislav Klíma and his idea of egodeism. For Klíma however, metaphysical will lose its transcendent ability and insight from a purely subjective point of view. The last part is mentioned Friedrich Nietzsche, whose theory of the will to power and the death of God, could be an inspiration for the Klíma's idea of egodeism.
Coverability for Parallel Programs
Turoňová, Lenka ; Vojnar, Tomáš (referee) ; Holík, Lukáš (advisor)
This work is focusing on automatic verification of systems with parallel running processes. We discuss the existing methods and certain possibilities of optimizing them. Existing techniques are essentially based on finding an inductive invariant (for instance using a variant of counterexample-guided abstract refinement (CEGAR)). The effectiveness of these methods depends on the size of the invariant. In this thesis, we explored the possibility of improving the methods by focusing on finding invariants of minimal size. We implemented a tool that facilitates exploring the space of invariants of the system under scrutiny. Our experimental results show that many practical existing systems indeed have invariants that are much smaller than what can be found by the existing methods. The conjectures and the results of the work will serve as a basis of future research of an efficient method for finding small invariants of parallel systems.
A Journey into the Mind of Martin H.
Helán, Martin ; Houser, Milan (referee) ; Stratil, Václav (advisor)
The main aim of my thesis was to re-establish their former individual creation. When rendering images, I came from my heart that emotionally involved in deciding the final constellation of colors. The resulting series of images is processed oil painting technique using mainly medium formats. The composition of paintings based on geometric abstraction and draw on previous work by increasing the details of their own earlier paintings. The operational objective was to search for color variations that inherently express different emotional states. The work focuses primarily on finding harmonious interplay of color tones.
Trends in Contemporary Art
Janovská, Anna ; Ptáček, Jiří (referee) ; Stratil, Václav (advisor)
Diploma work consists of 4 oil paintings on canvas and 10 paintings on paper. Abstract character of these paintings defines their dreamy atmosphere, which was created in Intermedia department and captures autor’s approach towards painting. This diploma work has ambitions to belong to contemporary art scene, especially in the context of contemporary painting. Author reflects that art scene and is aware of its tendences and trends. There might be few questions; what are these trends? what is their meaning and how can they be reflected by curators and critics? Will these trends persist and will they become classified? Simultaneously author perceives the autonomy of Intermedia department and its liberty. Collection entitled „ARE“ was created with awareness of the fact, that everyone can see their beings in their own eyes. Author created them by her own eyes and by that she claims they „are“.
Here and Now

Here and now In my painting series „Here and now“ I use a method of permeating, come up and lose the object. My paintings moves from concrete visual to abstract position. In this form I have found my one way to express term whitch I called „folklore abstract“. Each pice consist „things“ from my grandmothers house, with whitch I have got some relationship. I have create three large 200x190, 190x180, 190x180 oil paintings.

In my final work I made a portrait of Jesus Christ. Due to the historical development of Christian iconography is an abstract concept, in which Christ is depicted with only simple concrete elements which are significant for his personality as the general level and particularly in my personal.
Framework for extending the functionality of the user interface components in Java
Herain, Vít ; Šlajchrt, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
Within the Java platform, there are many easy reach GUI libraries, among which developers can choose which one to use for their own GUI applications. These GUI libraries have some common features that allow to abstract to some extend over the use of a particular library. The thesis describes a framework which has been developed with this idea. Framework provides the possibility for developers to extend the application containing the text components, menus and toolbars of universal extension facilitating work with the text. In the theoretical part there are briefly discussed libraries such as Swing, JavaFX2, Apache Pivot and Google Web Toolkit. Further, there are analyzed design patterns, which are linked to the framework and abstraction over the GUI libraries and applications.
Test-Driven Development in .NET platform
Bárta, Jan ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Vít, Jan (referee)
Test-Driven Development (TDD) is a complex agile methodic, which focus not only to software testing, but rather to software development in general. This thesis presents basic principles of TDD and also specific processes and practices to Microsoft .NET platform. There are examples of support software necessary for TDD on this platform and also practical code examples in C# language. The process of Test-Driven Development is shown od this code examples. Thesis also focuses on other terms related to TDD. One of the chapters deals with software testing in general, automatic testing or agile principles from which TDD comes. Thesis further focuses on requirements to tests or tested application itself. For successful application of TDD, it is necessary to fulfill some requirement steps and limitations. Otherwise, Test-Driven Development could be really expensive and hard approach. But when development team is aware of these limitations, TDD will produce quality code.
The Problems of the Symbolic Functions in the Aesthetics of Nelson Goodman
MAJER, Karel
My BA thesis engages in possibility of symbolization in fine art. The main theoretical implement is the differentiation of elemental types of symbolic functions, which Nelson Goodman elaborated in his works. The thesis will present the basic motives of Goodman?s philosophy of art at first. Then the thesis will try to use the motives for interpretation of selected paintings of Wassily Kandinsky.
