Sekaninová, Jitka ; Novák,, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor)
The thesis is a radical reconstruction and completion of a unique brownfield for cultural purposes, incubator of creativity, business and housing. The building is a former penitentiary near the city center between streets Bratislavská, Soudní and Cejl. It is a historical building which is currently unused. The complex for starting young entrepreneurs in a field of culture is supposed to serve as a center for a general public of art, particularly for the areas of so called industry of creativity such as architects, designers, painters, sculptors and also musicians, designers and developers of computer games. The building is historically valuable, especially due to the original vaults in the old part of the building which remain preserverd as much as possible. Only a part of a west wing has been demolished in order to construct a new expressive form as a shape of crystal which attracts the public from the Cejl street as it could be easily overlooked otherwise. The crystal has become a dominant part of the building and servers as a main entrance. A newer, less valuable part of the complex from the Bratislavská street, has been razed so there could be an underground parking and new extensions built serving the commercial and administrative purposes. The extenstions are the two operationally and structurally separated buildings allowing opening the entire area. A coridor which these two extensions create in between expands in a direction towards the legacy parts of the complex, thus the passers-by from a general public are pulled into the creative center through an attractive front-place. The original layou of each wing is retained what influenced their functional use decently. There are studios and workshops for artists located in the existing two floors along with multi-purpose hall, design market and theater hall with a trial rooms. There are additional studios, school of art with drawing and reading rooms and commercial areas situated in the extended floors.

Selected part of city was solved already in previous project that preceded own thesis. Merger proposal will allow a larger number of different functions within the complex, which will ensure the residents to various forms of housing, services and employment and leisure activities. The studied area is located in the city of Brno-Veveří. Plan shape of the object based on the area in which the three parties connected to the access road. Mass and spatial design respects the surrounding buildings and uses the sidewalks along the whole of the area. The matrix of the object is divided by two axes passing through the object into three blocks linked by a courtyard. This creates a square with a water surface with the possibility of recreation and sitting under the trees. The shape of these three blocks is further formed in several height terraced layers. Do terraces are placed in the atrium and individual residential and office units have large windows and balcony available. This solution brings natural light into the interior while allowing illumination of the courtyard and surrounding objects within the chosen area. This spatial structure is horizontally divided by function. There are proposed underground public garage, arcade with shops, services, administration and housing. The exterior of the building is designed by combining brick facades and white plaster, which works like optically lighter impression of the building.

Vývoj typologie otevřeného obytného domu v českém prostředí ve 20. století v kontextu evropských projektů
Struhařík, Daniel
The 20th century Fordistic labour system together with the expansion of new building technologies has led to general globalization and use of prefabrication techniques. An analysis of the phenomenon being researched is done through a collective case study. Production of open-spaced apartment buildings started to increase after the First World War. This happened thanks to a general awareness of Le Corbusier’s work, among other things. These open-spaced apartment buildings were built according to the concept of steel and concrete skeleton construction construction, basically filled with horizontal ribbon windows, which allows for an individual workspace for changing the designed disposition without any massive changes to the original building structure. In contrast to western countries, this method was not further investigated or used in former Czechoslovakia at that time, mostly because the above-mentioned principles were in contradiction with the socialistic ideology which was based on collectivism.
The Multifunctional building in Brno Zidenice
Hanousek, Ondřej ; ing.arch. Lukáš Ležatka, Ph.D (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Sedláková, Markéta (advisor)
This thesis deals with the construction of two multifunctional houses in the district Židenice in Brno. The existing unsuitable one-story residential building will be completely replaced. The dominant feature of the place is a chapel, located right in the middle of the crossing of the streets Nezamyslova and Táborská. The proposed buildings are connected both construction-wise and functionally by an underground parking lot spanning the area below both buildings and between them. Both objects react with the height to the mean number of stories of the streets on whose ends they are located, and they increment them by one, as more intensive city density is expected in the district in the future. The northern building has four, the southern three stories. This difference is emphasized but harmonized at the same time by the skewing of both buildings under the same, but opposite angle. This creates perfectly sunlit terraces at the southern facade of the northern building, while the southern building increases the area of its floor plan with height. The twelve appartment units in the northern building all have their own balconies, with extra acces to the communal exntensive green roofs. In the southern building, there are two duplex flats with access to their respective section of the roof by their own staircase. The additional functions apart from housing are a small administrative unit, two rentable commercial spaces and a café located in the lucrative street crossing. Together with the proposed trees, the buildings create a „canvas“ for the chapel, which allows it to become the true dominant element of the street and the vicinity.

Recently, it used to be forgetting the physiotherapy within complex rehabilitation at the retirement home and the home for disabled people. My primary aim is to find out how the importance of physiotherapy is perceived by clients and by employees of the chosen facility. The Thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters. The first two chapters of the theoretical part are focused on population, which is growing old with regard to material security and finding the meaning of life. Old age is not a disease. It is an evolutionary normal state of every human being. In the next two chapters of the theoretical part there are described chosen homes and their function, their target clients and provided services. Following four chapters deal with tools of rehabilitation, which are connected and they are distinguished by well-timing, compactness, completeness. As a follow-up a chapter which is focused on team cooperation of which is to keep or improve quality of living in the most natural environment and prevent social excluding. The last chapter of theoretical part deals with activation activities which belong to fundamental activities provided within social services and they contribute to maintaining or improving psychological, physical and social state of seniors. The practical part contains the research which investigates clients and emploees´ opinion about physiotherapy, especially its importance during maintaining of locomotor system and its methods which are used at chosen facilities. Employees were also asked about other activation activities which can be used by their clients. The research uses a strategy of the qualitative study with a technique of the half-structured interview. During studying of personal documentation there was used the method which is called the analysis of personal data. The research is concerning six clients of the two homes and three specialized employees who work with the clients. Results of their interviews were compared and evaluated. The principal aim of the Thesis was to find out how clients perceive the importance of physiotherapy at chosen homes and obtain answers to three research questions. The first question occupied with service which is offered to clients at homes within the complex rehabilitation. The second question is focused on the subjective evaluation of service which is provided within the complex rehabilitation. And the last question deals with the employees perception how they perceive physiotherapy in connection with the complex rehabilitation. As it follows from the results, clients have a large choice of activation activities or tools of rehabilitation and that clients are satisfied at their homes. According to the opinion of respondents and employees, physiotherapy is very important in comparison to other activation activities or tools of rehabilitation, like group and individual exercise, which are the most popular. Another participation of clients in activation activities depends on current interest of taking part in activation.
