ITIL and COBIT Implementation in ARIS Toolset

This master's thesis explores the topic of guidance for the COBIT framework and ITIL library in the context of business process management. It encompasses various process modelling languages and diagrams for companies active in information and communication technologies. Through the selected ARIS tool set and the mapping of all 64 processes, the establishment of individual processes can now be achieved, which is explained by modelling a total of 101 diagrams. The thesis also contains an example of process deployment for a selected company, which is accompanied by an implementation of a dashboard application that monitors the ticket flow of service operation processes.
Evaluation of Process Management in Production Systems

Business Process Management, the object of this thesis, has still growing importance in the functioning of the organization, and has a positive impact on its success. In the view of a dynamic market environment, Business Process Management has an inherent importance in the strategic business development. When an organization decides to implement process control and manage its activities, it should be also able to measure its processes and evaluate them. This ability gives the organization the possibility to efficiently and effectively manage processes and identify shortcomings for creation of business strategy on a competitive market. This dissertation presents a new evaluation model of a process control in the production systems, which organizations can use as a guide for further development. This work brings a new perspective in the field of process control and its evaluation of the production systems. The main objective of this dissertation is to design the assessment of the process control levels in the production systems on the basis of theoretical research and practical experience. The proposed solution was then verified by field research in selected organizations.
Software Support of an Order Lifecycle Management

This Master’s thesis deals with the analysis and optimization of the order lifecycle process at a company providing comprehensive ICT services. Theoretical basis for analyzing and optimizing business processes is described in the first part. The second part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of the order lifecycle process, in the context of other business processes and organizational and management structures deriving from the business strategy. A description of existing ICT resources to support the process is also included. The solution proposal of the work presents possible ways to optimize the process and its software support.

Firma PEGRES obuv s.r.o. se již delší dobu potýká se stagnací v oblasti plánování a řízení výroby. Některé podnikové procesy jsou nyní značně zastaralé a v aktuálních podmínkách již neefektivní. Cíl práce je snížení nákladů s využitím procesní analýzy. Pro dosažení tohoto cíle bude provedena analýza současného stavu zastaralých procesů a budou popsány vybrané metody řízení výroby, které jsou svou povahou relevantní pro výrobu obuvi. Výstupem práce je sada doporučení a návrhů na změny v existujících procesech. Vybrané návrhy budou v prostředí firmy implementovány a práce zahrne zhodnocení výsledků po zavedení těchto změn.

The Utilization of Process Management in Chemistry Laboratory

This diploma thesis deals with application of business process management principles to the order processing in chemical laboratory. In the first section of the work is accounted history and evolution of business process management and launching methodology as well. In further section was analyzed wider neighborhood of the company. It was necessary to find appropriate processes suitable for the optimization. Primary activities were identified using newly modeled value added chain diagram. Primary activities were decomposed to the key processes. These processes were described using event-driven process chain diagrams. Strategic goals were determined by internal and external organization aspects. The influence of the strategic goals on the key processes was evaluated to find a process attributes which can be improved using business process management. The goal of this work was to propose possible solution for the controlling and communication infrastructure allowing operational control over nondeterministic flow of orders and further reporting. The result of this work is new structure of key processes concerning orders and their passing the organization.
Business Process Management - Reengineering and its Implementation

This thesis deals with business process management phenomena and its concept of business process reengineering in particular. Furthemore, the principles, chosen methods and critical success factors of business process reengineering implementation are discussed. This thesis also concerns itself with holistic conception of business process management which incorporates both hard factors (e.g. process modeling) and soft factors dealing with rather social aspects of any organizational change. All theoretical findings are applied in specific organization where the business processes are rethought.
Process-built Enterprise Architecture

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Enterprise Architecture based on Business Process Man-agement. The main aim is to introduce and explain the importance of process management and enterprise architecture both via theory and practice. The thesis provides insight on the technologies and methodologies that are used in process management and explains the rela-tion to enterprise architecture. The practical part demonstrates this knowledge on the pro-cesses of a fictitious company, which are designed and analyzed with respect to the MMABP methodology. The conclusion summarizes the relations between process man-agement and enterprise architecture.
Business Process Management - Process Modeling

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of Business Process Management, its development and fundamental paradigms in the field of BPM as BPR. The thesis also compares approaches to BPM. Furthermore, it defines the term "process" and describes its classification. The thesis also explains the concept of the process-driven organization, including its characteristics. An integral part of the thesis is the explanation of the holistic approach to BPM and its technical aspect, i.e. the business process modeling which deals with creating the diagrams classified by basic principles of object orientation. The thesis introduces general modeling language UML and its specification in the form of notation BPMN and Eriksson-Penker. Also there are shown few examples of diagrams used in the BPM. All of these findings are then used in the constructing of process models and diagrams in the defined research area of the particular organization.
Specification of requirements for a new information system for complaints and claims management

The aim of the thesis is the specification of user requirements for complaints and claims management in selected company providing financial services in the Czech Republic. The first section explains the basic theoretical background in the field of process management and information systems. It is also discussed the view of complaints and claims management from customer side. The second section describes the system of complaints and claims management in the company. Based on the analysis of the process the next section specifies the user requirements for a new information system and assesses expected benefits and potential risks of implementing a new information system.
