The Legal Capacity of Clients Looking for Social Workers
PRŮŠOVÁ, Aneta
The main objective of this work was to find out how social workers perceive a significant legislative change, which relates to the client's legal capacity. The secondary objective was to determine what role social workers have in the process of "client self-management" and how these clients, respectively, their guardians work together. The research was based on conducting interviews with social workers within the South Bohemian Region who are working with clients with limited self-esteem. The conversations were subsequently overwritten and encoded. Depending on the individual codes, the categories were created, which were then shown for a better overview of graphically using diagrams. The opinion of social workers on the legislative change was positive, but this change is still not fully implemented. Decisions on people without them still prevail. The supportive measures to replace the limitations in the lawfulness are virtually absent in practice. It is difficult to look for a solution to this situation, as the creation of new legislation lasted for many years, so it can be assumed that the change in practice will also be evident after several years. The role of a social worker is not very significant according to research. As far as the course of the proceedings is concerned, the social worker does not interfere with it, but rather acts as a client support or a guardian's guardian. When working with clients with limited authority, an individual approach to each individual is important as well as cooperation with the family, in most cases the family member acts as a guardian. Good cooperation between the social worker and the guardian is related to the welfare of the client. The most important and still neglected fact remains that society must accept individuals with disabilities as well as their rights to freedom, independent decision-making and ultimately a happy life.
Constraints and the evolution of egg size and juvenile size in amniotes
Kubát, Jan ; Kratochvíl, Lukáš (advisor) ; Hořák, David (referee)
Amniotes (mammals, reptiles including birds) exhibit wide diversity in egg/offspring size relatively to female body size. This study reviews mechanisms determining size of propagules (such as morphological or physiological constraints, trade-off between size versus number etc.). Particular attention is paid to comparison of allometric relationship in egg/offspring size among individual amniotic lineages.
MS SQL Application Development Framework
Hanes, Marek ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor) ; Hoksza, David (referee)
Title: MS SQL Application Development Framework Author: Bc. Marek Hanes Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Michal Kopecký, Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: kopecky@ksi.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The thesis deals with a database application development and tries to find ways to optimize the most common problems encountered. The goal of this thesis is to design and develop a modular framework that simplifies the database application development and prevents inexperienced users from using unsafe SQL statements and/or expressions. The example of such a statement can be the insert statement without explicit column list, unsafe XPath expression, etc. The framework provides among others manipulation with history tables allowing versioning of data and reverting unwanted data changes asynchronous and parallel SQL execution support, error management and logging support, monitoring of schema changes as well as procedure and function debugging Together with means of data manipulation, the framework provides the simple way of publishing stored procedure as web service as well. The framework is accompanied by well-written programmers and users guide to allow its further development. Keywords: application development, framework, modular design, safe statements, constraints 1
Visual Perception and Phonological Forms of Lexemes in the Czech Sign Language (A Frequency Analysis of Selected Parameters of Signs)
Klabanová, Lucie ; Richterová, Klára (advisor) ; Nováková, Radka (referee)
This bachelor work deals with problems of constraints in sign languages, especially the constraints of visual perception. Part of the work is an overview of general knowledge about constraints in sign languages. There are also presented results of frequency analysis of selected sign parameters in some foreign sign languages. Included is also knowledge gained from studies aimed at identifying locations of visual interest while watching sign language. Within own practical research, there are analyzed signs of three areas of Czech sign language: colours, calendar and time units and family, in terms of sign typology, handshape and location of articulation. There is also an experiment focused on detection visual locations of interest, while watching Czech sign language with occurrence of Czech finger alphabet. Keywords: Czech Sign Language, visual perception, constraints, location of articulation, handshape, type of sign
Campaign Finance in the U.S. : McCain-Feingold Reform
Vydra, Pavel ; Sehnálková, Jana (advisor) ; Calda, Miloš (referee)
The United States has a long history of political campaigns. The Bipartizan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, also known as McCain-Feingold, was the last attempt to regulate the campaign finance. Being enacted in order to cover the loopholes that occurred in the Federal Election Campaign Act, this act banned the "soft money", it modified the rules for the pre- electional broadcasting, and it brought special restrictions for self-financing candidates. These changes succeeded to be enacted by both chambers of Congress, were signed by the President and upheld by the Supreme Court in the McConnell v. FEC landmark decision. However, the impact of the reform didn't quite meet the expectations of its supporters.

Financial health models and bankruptcy prediction models
MAUNOVÁ, Petra
The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the limitations and possibilities of using selected financial health models and bankruptcy prediction models in a selected group of companies. In the first part of this work, famous financial health models and bankruptcy prediction models are introduced and described in detail. Among the most important models belong the Altman Z Score, Index IN, Quick test by Kralicek, Grünwald's model etc. In the practical part, selected models are applied to specific enterprises and their evaluation results. The result of the bankruptcy and solvency models is one single final coefficient, which serves as the basis for labelling the enterprise either as solvent or bankrupted. As great advantages of these models could be mentioned their universality, simplicity, inexpensiveness and the fact they are not very time consuming. Still there are certain limitations to the data validity. The three enterprises analysed in 2011 were evaluated as bankrupted according to the models yet are still in operation at present time. It follows that the models only describe the particular financial situation but do not predict bankruptcy. Next, it was also discovered that it is not possible to use only one model for the evaluation of the complex situation of an enterprise, it is necessary to be concerned with the non-financial performance indicators as well. All assumed limitations of the models and possibilities of their usage have been, based on the analysis, confirmed.
