Blažejová, Lucie ; Bartoš, Michael (advisor) ; Martínek, Bronislav (referee)
In my thesis I am concerned with defining the influence of the free selected factors - age structure, education and type of housing - on waste recycling by people living in the town of Třebíč. The theoretical part of thesis is focused on theoretical information and factual data. I explain the terms, with which we meet in the context of waste management, and I also introduce the legislation governing the waste management. I mention the early days of sorting and compare the present not only in European countries but also in the Czech Republic. The following part is a presentation of the town of Třebíč and its waste management. For more complete context, I included the cooperation of the town with the firms that have the waste management as their main activity, and the public. Before the next part, I describe the objectives and the hypotheses. In the empirical part, I explain the results from a questionnaire survey conducted among resident of the town Třebíč. Respondents answered twenty questions concerning the classification of waste in their household, thanks to which I obtained data for the evaluation of hypotheses. The aim was to demonstrate the influence of age, education and housing type on waste sorting. The findings confirm the influence of two factors - age and type of housing. Age affects...
Aanalys of Sorting of Municipal Waste in the Municipalities of the Holešovsko Micro-region
Cahlíková, Markéta ; Hasman, Jiří (advisor) ; Kabrda, Jan (referee)
Sorting of municipal waste is considered to be a significant possibility for everyone to participate in more effective waste treatment, which helps to protect the environment. The main goal of this study is to find out which factors influence human decisions in the question of sorting or not-sorting waste. The analysis on the national level and in mikroregion Holešovsko was made with the purpose to achieve this goal. The results show the importance of several factors, the most important one being the level of achieved education. Other factors , which were found signifacant at least for one type of sorted waste, are the accessibility of containers, age 45-64, voting for Green party and longtitude of residence. The relative amount of sorted municipal waste in mikroregion Holešovsko is smaller than the average for the whole region Zlín. This fact may be partly explained by the differencies in sociodemographic structure.

This work includes documentation drawings containing assembly drawing and selected detailed drawings.
Effective proposal and operation of sorting line as an element in waste management
Guštara, Dominik ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (advisor)
The hereby presented master’s thesis deals with municipal solid waste separation. The introductory chapters describe current state of handling of selected recyclables and the technologies of their collection. The following chapter is a description of a waste sorting line technology, since this facility’s function is to upgrade the recyclables to secondary materials. The first step of practical part of this thesis was creation of a technical-economic model of the sorting line designed to process plastic and paper waste, therefore the following chapter is dedicated to its description and presentation. Subsequently, the outputs of the model are evaluated for three settings of its input variables, which represent the three imagined scenarios of the modeled sorting line’s operation. Sensitivity analyses focused on selected input variables of this model were also performed. A separate chapter is dedicated to changes in the model outputs in the case of including the waste transportation prices to the selected scenario. At the end of the thesis, the influence of increased material separation of plastic waste on the lower heating value of residual mixed municipal solid waste is evaluated.
The development of waste treatment and impact on quality of life for residents of the city of Hradec Králové
Novotná, Petra ; Mikulová, Vlastimila (advisor) ; Ivana , Ivana (referee)
The purpose of thesis is to analyze waste management with focus on municipal waste, it is processing and it is recycling. This analysis is based on studies of specialist texts of Waste Management Plan of surrounding countries, WMP of Czech Republic in the period 2015-2024 and the WMP of time-frame 2016-2025 with prior evaluation of the WMP of a town. Then the thesis deals with waste management and treatment of municipal waste of Hradec Králové based on a field survey and consultations, it has documented equipment for treatment of municipal waste in the form of recycling plants, compost plant, secondary raw material collection centres, transfer stations, sorting lines and landfill. In the questionnaire-based survey for residents it identified their awareness, satisfaction with the system of collection, access to waste sorting and the distance to collection containers. Waste management in Czech Republic
Petráňová, Karolina ; Grosz, Jan (advisor) ; Milan, Milan (referee)
This diploma thesis discusses issues of waste production and related issues of waste management in the Czech Republic. Wastes are generated almost every day as a result of the most of human activities. These objectives are enforced especially through legislative instruments. Theoretical part of this thesis is a comparison of findings and knowledge gained by the studying of literature and other relevant sources from the area of production and management of wastes. The practical part of this thesis deals with the analysis of waste production and waste management in the Czech Republic in selected time frame and includes a prognosis of future development. The basis of the practical part are statistical data, processed with chosen statistic methods, especially with the analysis of time series. Finally, a survey about the waste management is carried out with the aim of finding the current state in the field of waste sorting.
Comparison of economic and environmental aspects of waste management in selected municipalities of different sizes
HAVLOVÁ, Marie
The industrial development of our society pushes waste management into becoming an important part of both the economy as well as the environmental protection. It is essential to reduce the amount of waste which is being deposited in landfills without any further use. In the next 10 years it is necessary to completely eliminate waste disposal of the reusable waste and especially of the mixed municipal waste. This thesis focuses on the waste management of various types of municipalities. It aims to provide optimization of waste management, in the connection with economical and technical possibilities of various types of municipalities. This thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the issue of waste management in the course of history. It shows the various methods of waste disposal and describes the economic and environmental aspects and impacts in general. It briefly summarizes the development of waste management legislation. The second part of this thesis is focused on the analysis of waste management in selected municipalities. Twelve towns in three groups of different sizes were chosen. A survey of waste disposal and the influence of the size of the town and its technical options on the waste management was conducted. The results showed that municipalities have substantial reserves in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and also in the practical use of waste sorting. In the conclusion of this thesis suggestions to optimization of waste disposal are being presented.
Analýza složení KO se zaměřením na využitelné složky
Huserek, Lukáš
In these bachelor thesis I describe the waste management issues in the microregion Hornacko. The quantity and type of separate munincipal solid waste is analysed in forth selected villagies of the microregion Hornacko.
