Protection of the built-up area of the municipality by the proposal of water management measures in the river basin
Majkus, Martin ; PhD, Ing František Pavlík, (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to evaluate the important factors that determine the flood risk of the built-up area in the surveyed location. Also, it is necessary to assess the intensity of erosion treat to the soil and then propose comprehensive protective measures in the catchment areas of critical points and profiles, which will reduce these unfavourable values. The introductory part will summarize the existing knowledge and methods for determining the values of surface runoff and the degree of erosion risk. In the design part, surveyed locality analysis will be proved. Furthermore, the suitable water management measures will be proposed. The measures will ensure the protection of built-up area of the municipality and improvement of erosion conditions. For analysis of the area and for propose of measures were used ArcGIS-ArcMap and DesQ-MaxQ software. Obtained information was then processed in MS Excel and Word editors.
Identification of critical profiles and evaluation of their erosion and hydrological characteristics
Tučka, Ondřej ; PhD, Ing František Pavlík, (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The content of this thesis is to evaluate hydrologic and erosion characteristics in given area which is situated in Brno - Líšeň locality. Furthermore, there are locations determined, based on a threat for intravilan or traffic infrastructure or water infrastructure located in extravilan by an accumulated surface flow. A maximum culmination flow and erosion loss were calculated for these specific locations. Software DesQ-MAXQ and ArcGIS were used for these purposes.

Additionally, the work on the proposed adaptation measures has been assessed in terms of their effectiveness and evaluation of their design. The part and contribution of the work is also to inform about problems related to climatic drought, finding their causes and subsequent.
Study of possibilities protection against rural zone water
Burešová, Erika ; Roubcová, Radka (referee) ; Milerski, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part of thesis deals with the problems of surface runoff, determination of surface runoff and measures to eliminate consequences of surface runoff. There is also mention of water erosion which is an accompanying phenomenon of surface runoff. The second section paper examines the threat to area in the Napajedla city of water. There are two possible solutions to the protection of the territory. For the valuation is used directive to calculate to the drain age of VMP and software HEC-RAS 4.1.0 for assassment the capacity of water equipment.
Urban measures of effective surface water management in urban areas
Vacková, Michaela ; Kročová,, Šárka (referee) ; Polešáková, Marie (referee) ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
One of the main challenges in promoting rainwater management into practise is the fact that it was not recognized as an interdisciplinary issue. We should seek ways how to open the problem to other professions, specially for architects and urban planners, who are the key element of its farther development. This work analyzes the reasons of this unsatisfactory state of rainwater management in the Czech Republic and it defines the possible ways how to remedy this state and outlines scenarios of its further development. The default document of the work is czech technical standard "TNV 75 9010 Hospodaření se srážkovými vodami". The new methodological guide, which is part of this work, is based on it. The work extends the range of measures which are mentioned in the standard. It brings new ways for assessing the benefits of the various measures to streamline the application of rainwater management measures in urban space.
Surface runoff generation and its erosion processes
Kalibová, Jana ; Kovář, Pavel (advisor) ; Štibinger, Jakub (referee)
Research of model simulations of hydrological data for water resources studies and field and laboratory experiments testing the effectiveness of erosion control geotextiles using rainfall simulators is summarized in this dissertation. The results of the research have been used to suggest a water regime optimisation in the catchment of a former mining pit Medard-Libík. Although agricultural and forestry reclamation measures have been applied, rill erosion still appears on some slopes within the catchment. The soil loss and sediment transport result in the deterioration of the crop yield, cause damage on the road and drainage systems and also influence the quality of water in the lake arising by flooding the former mining pit. The first part of the dissertation provides a review on surface runoff and its erosion processes. Next, bio-technical erosion control measures on slopes are summarised. The third part of the dissertation is devoted to a simulation of surface runoff on a model slope in the Medard Catchment. The main aim was to test whether the KINFIL model is suitable for the simulation of the effectiveness of erosion control geotextiles and suggest an appropriate erosion control measures for the eroded slopes in the Medard Catchment. The KINFIL model seems to be a useful tool to quantify the effectiveness of individual erosion control products and measures in order to find the most convenient option. The simulations carried out in the dissertation corresponded to the results of field and laboratory experiments testing the impact of geotextiles on surface runoff and soil erosion published earlier. A well-balanced rainfall-runoff regime in the Medard Catchment would increase the stability of the landscape, reduce the cost of restoration of the damage caused by erosion to road and drainage systems and improve the water quality by elimination of the sediment transport. The results of this dissertation may be offered to the public administration or private stakeholders to control erosion within the reclamation of areas affected by mining activities.
Influence of water erosion parameters choice stand establishment in relation to the location and arrangement of the land
Faltejsková, Michaela ; Novák, Petr (advisor) ; Kumhálová, Jitka (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis was to evaluate and assess the crop stand establishment in terms of resistance the soil to water erosion. For this purpose, a field experiment was set up in Nespeská Lhota, which consists of six different crops and methods of treatment and one control variant maintained without vegetation. Measured variables for evaluating were the surface runoff and soil washes away. There was used the rainfall simulator for measurement. Based on the results presented in the diploma thesis a positive impact of reduced tillage on measured values of water erosion can be confirmed. The consequence is especially a reduction of erosive washes of soil and surface runoff. Also the positive effect of ground cover with organic matter was confirmed, which contributes to the better soil qualities and the soil is less prone to water erosion.
Determination of critical points and the evaluation of their contributing areas state
Řídký, Vojtěch ; Larišová, Lucie (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
Torrential rainfall floods are more frequent problem and it can not be predicted in advance. The only protection is a complex of measures in the catchment area. The aim of this thesis is identification of critical points and rating of the state of their contributing areas in cadastre unit Šatov and Hnanice.

NOVÁKOVÁ, Tereza
The topic of my thesis deals with the proposal of erosion control measures in a model comprehensive landscaping project. Literature research is used to explanation of basic terms, to familiarization with problems of land adjustment, water erosion and erosion control measures, but also with laws and regulations. The second part is dedicated to the proposal of erosion control measures. In program ArcGIS have been identifited 16 drainpaths, for which have been calculated surface drain and proposal erosion control measures. The results are processed into clearly tables.
Landscape retention capacity in the Czech Republic - history, present, influencing factors, difficulties and proposals for improvement
MACHO, Bohumil
This bachelor thesis is written as a form of literary research into the water retention abilities of landscape in the Czech Republic. A descriptive overview is given of the factors that influence the ability of landscape to retain water and the subsequent application of this knowledge to instigate increased retention levels. Comparisons are made for the individual factors and measures over time, with a view to predicting what may happen in the future. The final chapter looks in-depth at the phenomenom associated with the poor water retention capabilities of landscape as a result of incorrect interventions, in most cases anthropogenic, in the countryside. An evaluation of the broader issues regarding such interventions and the implementation of measures follows in the conclusion.
