Local heating units for family house - case study

This thesis deals with selected methods of heating a house. The first part is dedicated to familiarization with the possibility of local the heating of houses and the analysis of individual sources and heating equipment. The second part describes the designed family house. For this house were proposed some proposals by heating. The next step was to evaluate the individual proposals and select three that were assessed in terms of economic analysis. Economic analysis compared the start-up costs and operating costs. The proposals were compared with existing heating systems. At the end of the proposals was evaluated and determined the best method of heating the house.

Heating of low-energy houses

Low-energy houses are becoming more common and requested. This work describes possibilities and various ways of space heating in such houses. It also analyses specific energy sources, their availability as well as an environmental impact. The work includes a design of heating for a display low-energy house.

EU Energy Security and Relations with Russia

The main objective of this dissertation is to research the interconnectivity of energy security of the European Union and its relations with Russia. Achieving this goal entails an analysis of the current situation in the EU energy security in the context of its import dependence on Russian energy sources and an outline of the future development of strategic partnership between the EU and Russia in the energy field. The dissertation is divided into five logically arranged chapters. The first chapter provides the theoretical background, the concept of the energy security and methodological researching tools. The second chapter provides an overview of the current state of the global and the European energy industries as a basis for the evaluation of the energy security. The second chapter is also focused on the EU legislative framework concerning energy system. The third chapter deals with analysis of the energy security of the individual sectors and levels of the energy system by determining risk factors and measures to limit their impact. The fourth chapter examines the energy sector of Russia in terms of its impact on the EU energy security. The final fifth chapter outlines scenarios for the future of the EU energy security in the context of relations with Russia.

Global energy issues

This bachelor thesis is engaged in global energy issues and their evolution. The aim of this thesis is to point out importance of the issues in the world, especially in EU. I will analyze the current situation of traditional and renewable energy sources, because their position and exploitation has major impact on how not only energy but also environmental issues of humanity will develop in the future. In this thesis I will focus on renewable and alternative energy sources, because currently they represent the most accessible possible solution to these issues. I will describe current energy position of EU and how EU tries to solve persistent energy issues through common energy policy. In the thesis I will also discuss exploitation of renewable energy sources and position of EU in world energy sector.

Energy policy in Germany

This master thesis analyses the German energy policy, mainly the new concept which is known as Energiewende. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter is about theoretical background. The second chapter deals with the energy policy in Germany. It mentions single concepts of the energy policy in Germany. It describes institutions and legislation, which are essential for the energy policy in Germany. It deals with the energy sources in Germany as well as with the electricity. The third chapter describes measures which are essential for success of Energiewende -- it refers mainly to the new network, electricity efficiency in all fields, new power plants and electricity storage. Last, the fourth, chapter evaluates the energy policy in Germany. It contains experts' points of view, opinions of people living in Germany (based on my own survey) and my own commentary, where are the conclusions summarized.

Energy sector of the EU and USA - comparison

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to compare the energy sectors of the European Union and the United States of America. The current energy policy and energy legislation are discussed in the first chapter. The chapter is supplemented with information on renewable and non-renewable energy sources. These are described both in general terms and in terms of their real utility considering the energy efficiency and processing costs. The history of both energy policies is briefly described in the next part. The main section is devoted to the analysis of non-renewable and renewable energy sources and energy policies using the SWOT method. Based on the findings presented throughout the thesis, the concluding chapter brings an overview of EU and US energy sector functioning.

The impact of additional taxation on photovoltaic projects in the Czech Republic

The master thesis is concerned with the problems of the impact of additional taxation on economy and effectiveness of photovoltaic projects in the Czech Republic. Additional taxation applies to revenues coming from selling the electricity made by photovoltaic power plants between 2011 and 2013. The first part describes the theoretical factors influencing the methods of assessing the effectiveness of the investment project. At the beginning of the second part, the legislative background of renewable energy projects in the Czech Republic is described. All the factors influencing the effectiveness of the photovoltaic projects are reviewed; followed by the discussion of methods for assessing the effectiveness of the photovoltaic projects. At the end of the thesis the impact of additional taxation on the effectiveness of photovoltaic projects is assessed and compared between different sizes of projects.

Energy policy of European Union and priorities of chosen member states

Energy security has become a central issue in all developed countries; EU Member States are no exception. Crisis in the energy sector, which took place during the 20th and 21st century, have shown that the formation of a single energy policy at European level will be necessary. Individual Member States have their own national energy policy which is derived from sources at their disposal. The aim of this work is to analyze the energy policy of the European Union and selected Member States. and to assess whether it is possible to create a unified energy policy exclusively in the competence of the European Union. At first I will devote the energy policy of the EU and its birth and objectives. In the next section I will focus on the energy policy of individual Member States (France, Great Britain and Italy) and enforcement of this policy at European level. Last part is about to analyze the internal and external aspects of German energy policy.

Potenciál biomasových energetických projektů na území České Republiky

The aim of my Master Thesis is to provide the reader a holistic picture about the current situation on the renewable energy market, specifically in the area of biomass energy. Firstly, the complex research, which had been conducted by the European Union, Czech government and individual research groups, was examined to make a comprehensive overview about the Czech energy mix of renewable sources. Secondly, the biomass energy fundamentals were elaborated in more details to provide the reader solid insights into the biomass origins, methods of energy conversion as well as its current market circumstances. Next, the financing structure of biomass energy projects together with SWOT analysis on biomass was conducted based on the personal work experience from the Department of Renewable Energy Financing at xxxxxxxxxx bank and the available analytical materials. Consequently, the recommendations for potential biomass investors were concisely described together with the market prediction and possible outlook that was suggested based on the previous analysis.
