On the milling of ceramic materials
Rudel, Václav ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
In the diploma thesis dividing of ceramic materials is made, their bonds and other attributions, which define ceramic materials. There is also described how ceramic materials are manufactured and the thesis is including information about machining ceramic materials. In the experimental part sample of ceramic material R-S67K was machined by milling. During the experiment cutting forces were measured and roughness of surface after finishing, these data were finally evaluated.
A study on the grinding of ceramic materials
Kresa, Jakub ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on ceramics materials in terms of their partition, properties, structure, manufacture and methods of their possible machining. The first part of this thesis is devoted to the distribution of ceramics materials, their structure, properties, and methods of production. Currently, ceramics materials are increasingly used in structural (engineering) applications therefore we deal with methods of effective machining of ceramic materials, to achieve part of the required shape, dimensions and surface quality. The evaluation of ceramic grinding test from the point of view of cutting forces and surface quality of the machined faces are presented in the last part of the thesis. The tested materials have been provided by company SEEIF Ceramics a.s.

Szlaur, Vít ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Chladil, Josef (advisor)
A general analysis of machining problems, analysis of cutting forces for turning, milling, drilling. Evaluation of experimentally measured values of surface structure and theoretical values of cutting forces in turning cylindrical parts. Economical processes for the comparable results of the final state of the surface.
Characterization of the machinability of cast iron for the RENAULT’s brake discs
Ceyte, Benoit ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This document is final report of an expertise project lead for ALPHA Company. The project focuses on the machinability characterization and comparison of various lamellar cast irons metallurgies. The comparison is performed in order to improve the casting process and the cast irons composition of brake and hub disk, to increase their machinability. The characterization of the metallurgies was made by tool life test with measurements of the cutting forces. Hardness and surface roughness measurements were performed too. Several Silicon nitride tools were tested. First an adjustment test has been performed to validate the machining parameters, and the methodology of characterization. Secondly, a reference test on Alpha’s cast iron brought reference data for the comparison of the various metallurgies to be tested. This test has improved the method of characterization. Cutting forces recording appeared as the most relevant and irrelevant measurements such as surface roughness were eliminated from the method. A test performed on a second cast iron showed that it has a lower machinability. Project succeeded to characterize and compare cast irons’ machinabilities, allowing the improvement of the composition by further tests.
Simulation of cutting force during milling process with straight tooth plain milling cutter.
Zemčík, Tomáš ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
To make a simulation of cutting force during milling process with cilindrical cutter is the aim of this diploma thesis. Preliminary part is devoted to technology of milling, milling cutters and cutting materials. The next section is aimed at kinematics of the cutting process, a theoretical analysis of power proportion, the possibility of measurement of force actions. General information about the programming software, a theoretical simulation model, graphical environment of created application, are the other points of this diploma thesis. The work also includes evaluation of the experimentally measured values and compared with values obtained from the created application.
Cutting performance of very fine grained end mills
Uttendorfský, Aleš ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes sintered carbides, their properties and manufacturing tools. Some selected problems of milling and its physical nature is discussed also. It also deals with the types and methods of tool wear testing. The aim is to compare the experimental properties of monolithic end milling cutters (short four cutting edges, uncoated carbides) of various grain sizes in two basic ways of milling - down-feed method and up-feed method. The measured values are evaluated by analysis in time series of the cutting forces and power.
Cutting forces when milling fibre reinforced composites
Martének, Libor ; Forejt, Miloslav (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The thesis is focused on composite materials with a view to their classifi-cation, identification, usage, current trends in production and development and possibilities of effective machining. As a part of this thesis, there is an evaluation of experimentally measured values during technological testing of milling of a fibre reinforced composite with a polyester matrix reinforced by fiberglass. The technological testing was performed with a view to measure certain values, i.e. impact on machined material, working conditions for a tool and its abrasion equal to the values of components of cutting force. From the values obtained from the testing, a general analysis of cutting force when milling was created containing overall technical and economical evaluation.

Cutting forces problems analyses during milling operation, description of experimental machinery for measuring cutting forces. Characteristic of composite materials, their properties, production and usage. Evaluation of experimentally measured values of cutting forces during cylindrical conventional milling. Technical economic evaluation.
Simulation verify the dynamic behavior of the portal machine tool
Danda, Libor ; Holub, Michal (referee) ; Vetiška, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with summary of simulation software for the simulation of the dynamic behavior of machines, creating a simulation model of the machine in MSC.ADAMS and experimental measurement of cutting forces. It also deals with dynamics simulations axis motion and deformation analysis of selected components of the machine. Finally, they are designed to be structural adaptations in order to increase the dynamic stability of the machine.
Design of small turning machine C axe
Hermanský, Dominik ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Blecha, Petr (advisor)
The subject of my bachelor´s thesis is design of C-axis for small turning machine. First part include definition of main terms and research in C-axis used for turning machines and turning centres. Next part is about cutting forces during the machining, choice of drive and breaking system for C-axis. Following part deals with creating 3D model of C-axis with turning spindle. The drawing of assembly is the last part of my thesis.
