The Church housing /Brno-Lesná/

This bachelor thesis is based on the studio project of the subject Interior. It develops architectural study of the church of the Blessed Mary Restituta situated in Brno in district Brno-Lesná. The building is the extension of the current Spiritual Center, where the Catholic religious services were held so far, but its capacity is no longer sufficient. Building land is gently sloping character, is positioned in the housing estate, close to the tram loop Čertova Rokle. The entire extension consists of two structural units, the first is expansion space of the current Spiritual Center in its own original cubic mass, and the second is church building, designed as a separate structure that follows the extended part of the Spiritual Center. All three parts, the current Spiritual Center, its expansion and new construction of the church are directly connected to a long corridor, which branch out in the area of a new cubic expansion of the original mass and connects to the mass of the nave in two locations with facilities necessary for the operation of the church. All areas are mostly two-storey. Over part of the nave is second floor space with gallery, under the current Spiritual Center is the ground floor with underground garage and technical facilities. In the new expansion of the Spiritual Center is a building only single-storey. The supporting structure of the church is a reinforced concrete wall system, supporting system of the roof structure is made up of solid glulam timber truss. The supporting structure of the extension of the original cubic mass, where the church facilities is located, is designed as a wall system of Ytong blocks. The supporting part of the roof structure is made up of panels Spiroll. The house is founded on reinforced concrete foundation strip, the current support system is the skeleton with reinforced concrete foundation block. The facade of the building is solved by a traditional plaster, glass parts and copper perforated panels.

Family house with dental surgery in Bruntál

The bachelor thesis deals with the project of a family house with two dentist’s offices. The building is situated on the parcel No. 194/2 and 194/3 in the town of Bruntál. The family house is built to the already existing object. The demand on the corner house was respected in the project. The building has two overhead floors and a living attic and is designed as a two-generation family house. The first floor is designed for the dentist’s offices. The second floor is designed for the old generation of a family and the attic for the young generation with children. The construction of the object belongs to the Porotherm system. The roof respects the demand on the corner house. A part of the roof is of a gabled construction and a part of an attic construction. All entrances into the object are oriented to the north from the Požárníků street.

Comparison of intelligent building

The thesis is concerned with the comparison of systems with intelligent house. The aim is to choose appropriate methods and approaches for the design of intelligent building, to design the application and implementation of selected technologies in different price ranges, further evaluation using the proposed solutions for different categories of users. The first part is accomplished by mapping timeliness of intelligent housing issues and trends in the coming years. There are specified functionality, cost, and the return of classic and smart wiring. The second part is specified topologies and Loxone GILD, sample calculations, there is also defined by their scalability, control. The third part presents a comparison of the scoring method of price comparisons, scalability and control and standardization, user friendliness.

Framework for extending the functionality of the user interface components in Java

Within the Java platform, there are many easy reach GUI libraries, among which developers can choose which one to use for their own GUI applications. These GUI libraries have some common features that allow to abstract to some extend over the use of a particular library. The thesis describes a framework which has been developed with this idea. Framework provides the possibility for developers to extend the application containing the text components, menus and toolbars of universal extension facilitating work with the text. In the theoretical part there are briefly discussed libraries such as Swing, JavaFX2, Apache Pivot and Google Web Toolkit. Further, there are analyzed design patterns, which are linked to the framework and abstraction over the GUI libraries and applications.

Implementation of data preparation procedures for RapidMiner

Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) is gaining importance with the rising amount of data being collected lately, despite this analytic software systems often provide only the basic and most used procedures and algorithms. The aim of this thesis is to extend RapidMiner, one of the most frequently used systems, with some new procedures for data preprocessing. To understand and develop the procedures, it is important to be acquainted with the KDD, with emphasis on the data preparation phase. It's also important to describe the analytical procedures themselves. To be able to develop an extention for Rapidminer, its needed to get acquainted with the process of creating the extention and the tools that are used. Finally, the resulting extension is introduced and tested.

Transformation of butterfly fauna on a middle scale: Situation in the South Bohemian Region.

This thesis summarises historical and recent information on the distribution of butterflies in South Bohemian region, based on 130 records from literature, collections and recording reports, amassed during Mapping of Czech Republic butterflies. Historical and present distributions of each of 130 butterfly species found in their region are displayed on distribution maps. Out of the 130 species, 42,1 % is already extinct, while 24,1 % is threatened to some extend. Comparison with the situation in entire Czech Republic reveals a higher rate of extinctions, which is probably a function of smaller total area. Compared with the Czech Republic total, xerophilous species suffered higher losses in South Bohemia, whereas species of mesic habitats are relatively less endangered and for peat bogs specialists, the region represents a major refugium. Priorities for further research and active conservation measures are discussed.

Brand Extension

The goal of this Master`s Thesis is to clarify issues and significancy of association bridging between parent brand and its extension. By analysing secondary and primary data and by using free association method I researched five brands (Michelin, Cosmopolitan, Duracell, BIC and Aquila) and their interesting extension. Within the analysis is highlighted the dominance of associations, their internal meaning and connection of associations between the extension and the parent brand. In conclusion, in response to found bottlenecks of researched brands are some recommandations about the internal meaning of associations, hidden meaning of category, artificiality of associations, fake success of extension and minor meaning of a product category.

Prevention of immobilization syndrome in patients with extension.

Abstract More and more up-to date equipment in the health-care sector makes the treatment of fractures possible, especially by means of surgery. However, not every patient is indicated for surgery. Even today, we can see a patient with the extension at the standard and intensit care units. Therefore, nurses must know how to take care of this patient and how to prevent the risk of immobilization syndrome in patient with extension that may cause many serious complications. The aims of this study were to identify the negative factors affecting a development of the immobilization syndrome in a patient with the extension, to compare the differences in the use of immobilization devices to prevent the immobilization syndrome in a patient with the extension at the standard and intensive care unit and to determine whether patients with extension are familiar with possibility of the immobilization syndrome. Four hypotheses have been defined. In the first hypothesis we assumed that inconveniently selected positioning affected the emergence of the immobilization syndrome. This hypothesis was confirmed. Inconveniently selected positioning is most often involved in the immobilization syndrome. In the second hypothesis we assumed that inconvenient hygienic care affected the emergence of the immobilization syndrome. This hypothesis was also confirmed. The insufficient hygienic care affects a development of the immobilization syndrome. In the third hypothesis we assumed that the intensive care unit used more up-to-date equipment to take care of a patinet with the extension compared to the standard unit. In the fourth hypothesis we assumed that patients with extension had no information about the possibility of the imobilization syndrome. This hypothesis was disproved. The patients with the extension are informed about the possibility of the immobilization syndrome. The nurses at the standard and intensive care units in Hospital České Budějovice, a.s. (PLC) and Military Hospital Olomouc were asked to be a research sample. Data were collected by the quantitative exploration method using anonymous questionnaires. In total 110 questionnaires were distributed of which 68 were used for the final evalution. The remainig questionnaires had to be withdrawn from the investigation because they were completed insufficiently by the nurses. This study could help to supplement the educational material for patients with the extension and to increase the knowledge of the nurses in the area of care of such patient.

Extension development for CMS Joomla!

Writing of analytical reports in natural language is important, but not very simple. At this time, most of analytical reports are written in Microsoft Word and saved as classical files. The object of this bachelor thesis is the change to simpler writing of analytical reports in online application CMS Joomla!. To this functionality, we use some extensions of CMS Joomla!. After demands definition, we use an exitor-xtd plug-in and a component for CMS Joomla! 1.5. Using extensions, which were written in this thesis, authors of analytical reports are able to select part of dates from data mining application and insert this part to edited analytical report. The data source for including is xHTML presentation of data from data mining application. In this bachelor thesis, there are described information about dividing of xHTML document, part selection and including to the edited text. The secondary functionality of build extensions is updating of included blocks in selected analytical report. Users can select finished analytical report and update the included blocks with newer data. At the University of Economics, Prague, all students of informatics learn about fundamental data mining in the subject 4iz210 - Information and Knowledge Processing. In this subject, the students will use CMS Joomla! with extensions from this bachelor thesis. The start-up mounting will be at the end of summer semester in academically year 2008-2009. This bachelor thesis could be used as inspiration for extension development for CMS Joomla!, too.
