Prediction of Exchange Rate Movements on Forex
Balog, Miroslav ; Menšík, Jakub (referee) ; Budík, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the possibility of prediction of the exchange rate on forex. The combination of Elliott wave principle and Fibonacci numbers examines to what extent and in what time periods it is possible to predict exchange rate. The thesis use fundamental analysis and MACD oscillator to confirm the accuracy of this prediction.
Analysis of the causes and consequences of five crises of the european integration process in the context of economic and political development after Maastricht Treaty
Ševčíková, Michaela ; Loužek, Marek (advisor) ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (referee) ; Zahradník, Petr (referee) ; Strejček, Ivo (referee)
This paper analyses the essential aspects, causes and consequences of contemporary European integration process and examines the performance of individual EU countries. The analysis is done through the view of five crises: first the political and institutional; second the public finance, respectively the debt; third the different quality and competitiveness of single economies; fourth the banking, financial, respectively economic; and fifth the view, which focuses on the psychological aspect of trust. Substantial measures proposed or implemented by the EU institutions are subjects of analysis (European bonds; tax on financial transactions, banking union, fiscal pact and bail-out fund), including their critical evaluation, especially activist policy of the European Central Bank. Summary is contained in the SWOT analysis. This work also proposes recommendation for further development in the Czech Republic. The research section made by testing selected variables among 2003-2012 based on the method Beta convergence confirmed, that instead of theoretical assumption of faster real convergence of EU countries, the divergence between the core and periphery countries took place in the examined period. Beta convergence is confirmed within the designated groups in the new EU member states in the pre-crisis growth and in the overall monitored period. The second method -- the cluster analysis created groups, respectively clusters of countries that are the most similar based on selected indicators. On the one hand, the repeated grouping of core countries into one common cluster was verified with different options of the model. On the other hand, the used Ward's method showed, among others, that in majority of observed periods the countries commonly categorized into periphery groups (such as Italy and Ireland) have greater economic similarities to the core countries rather than countries such as Spain, Portugal and Greece.
Impact of financial and economic crisis on Spain: regional aspects
Paličková, Eva
PALIČKOVÁ, Eva. Impact of Financial and Economic Crisis on Spain: Regional Aspects Brno, 2014. 117 p. Diploma thesis. Mendel University in Brno. Thesis deals with impact of financial and economic crisis on all seventeen regions and two cities in Spain. The main purpose of the thesis is to find out, whether the crisis influenced the development of convergence or divergence between Spanish regions. First of all the complete overview of economic development on basis of the most important macroeconomic indicators during ten-year period for each region was done. Afterwards, the statistical method, Cluster analysis, was performed for two different time periods dividing crisis period, which facilitated diagrams capturing regional grouping and their movements during different crisis period. Additionally, the Beta-convergence analysis was performed. Also the Beta-convergence analysis was run in three different time periods, which results revealed nicely the evolution of convergence and divergence be-tween Spanish regions during last ten-years marked by crisis situation.
Real Convergence of Economies and their Disruption of Economic Crisis
Horáček, Martin ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
The thesis analyzes the issues of convergence or divergence of the Czech economy and the economies of Germany, Greece and Germany's economy and economies of China and the United States of America. The analysis takes place in the context of the development of gross domestic product per capita adjusted by purchasing power parity and the percentage of government debt to gross domestic product over the last approximately 20 to 25 years and focuses on analyzing the impact of the global economic crisis of late 2007 on the convergence of economies. The analysis showed the impact of the economic crisis, all three groups surveyed economies. In the case of China to the United States it was strengthening the convergence. In cases the Czech Republic and Greece to Germany it was the change from convergence to divergence.
Real Convergence of Economies and their Disruption of Economic Crisis
Stratilová, Andrea ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
This thesis analyzes the process of real convergence of the Czech Republic and the selected new European Union members towards the EU-27. The convergence was measured by the copmparison of real GDP per capita in Purchasing Parity Standard units in each country. The real convergence was tested through the concepts of beta convergence and sigma convergence. The analysis proved the real convergence of the Czech Republic and other EU countries towards the EU. That means the Czech Republic's economy level grows and comes nearer to the EU-27 average. It also proved that the convergence process was disrupted by the global economic crisis. The crisis negatively influenced the growth of real GDP per capita at all EU countries and made it slower after 2007.
Molecular divergence of sex chromosomes compared to autosomes in related species of tortricids
ŠÍCHOVÁ, Jindra
In systems with female heterogamety (e.g. WZ/ZZ; female/male), the Z chromosome has several characteristics that distinguish it from autosomes, such as different effective population size (Ne) and hemizygosity in the heterogametic sex. These characteristics may lead to an accelerated rate of adaptive changes for the Z-linked genes compared to autosomal coding sequences, often referred to as the Fast-Z effect. This work is the first attempt to test the Fast Z effect in Lepidoptera by using two methodological approaches. These included comparative fluorescence in situ hybridizations and comparisons of substitution rates in coding sequences.

Divergence of proobabilty ditributions and statistical information
Vajda, Igor
A recently established generalized Taylor formula is used to prove in a new much simpler manner the basic properties of f-divergences of probability measures. In a new simple way is proved also the relation of these divergences to the statistical information defined as a measure of decrease of the Bayes risk.
Dynamic characteristics and stability of cylindrical shell conveying fluid
Horáček, Jaromír ; Dubuc, F.
Natural frequencies and the thresholds for loosing the hydroelastic stability of thin-walled cylindrical shell conveying fluid are theoretically studied. Potential flow theory for fluid and semi-membrane theory for the shell are used. The viscous fluid forces are modelled by the Darcy law. The fundamental importance of boundary conditions considered for fixing the edges of the cylindrical shell of finite length is shown.
