The Restoration of the Former Zlín County Court
Gebhardt, Tomáš ; Blažková, Vendula (referee) ; Myslín, Jiří (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the former court building in Zlín. It is the second oldest structure in the city, situated at the crossroads of the streets Bartošova and Soudní, next to a park. It is not only located in the geographical center of the city, but also the at the confluence of the most frequented routes leading to shopping centers, transportation hubs, university buildings, etc. Unfortunately, the building intersects the park and interrupts its clear boundaries. The vicinity is abundant with public spaces, which, aside from Gahura’s prospect, are mostly unpopular, thanks to their unsuitable design and absence of necessary facilities. The design attempts to turn the building into a facility of the park – a café, public toilets and an interesting public space. The park’s boundaries are sealed with the new building of an open-air cinema. The corner of the streets is improved by the much-needed parterre, including a new lawn which creates a natural border of the park. This space is also used as an entrance to the underground parking lot and the main entrance to the open-air cinema. Further, there is a new cube-shaped four-storey extension to the building which contains a new staircase and necessary sanitation rooms. The extension is designed so that it doesn’t undermine the dominance of the court building itself, and presents itself in an inferior manner. The design keeps in mind the original façade and expression of the building, including the shape and slope of the roofs. The parking lot is moved from in front of the building under the new open-air cinema, to clear up the parterre and make it more representative.

Extension of Unity Development Platform for Visual Programming
Horký, Lukáš ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Kreslíková, Jitka (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is to create an extension for Unity Development Platform that will allow creation of computer games from design of game logic to scene programming on visual level. The extension forms an abstract layer between designers, who manage game objects on logic level, and programmers, who are responsible for implementation of parts that can't be created automatically. It then facilitates some designing processes and iterations by eliminating the need of manual programming in places that can by automate and allows to concentrate on the design process itself.

Increasing popularity of web applications brings more incidents of user account theft. The most common reason is stolen credentials. Keycloak deals with security in web applications. It is an open source tool that has many great security features. Some security features used by popular web services are still not present in Keycloak. This bachelor thesis focuses on adding selected security features to Keycloak and describes how to set up this features.
Morphological differentiation and distribution of taxa in the Galium palustre group
Dohnalová, Pavla ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Chrtek, Jindřich (referee)
This work is focused on the polyploid group of Galium palustre. The process of polyploidization has significantly influenced the evolution of angiosperms and in the studied group led to the emergence of 4 cytotypes known so far. Two of the cytotypes are found in the Czech Republic, diploid and octoploid, distinguished as species Galium palustre and Galium elongatum, respectively. Both taxa are mostly considered as species, which differ in quantitative characteristics, but these show considerable phenotypic plasticity. Therefore, the exact extent of morphological variation, precise distribution and ecology of the species are still unknown. The flow cytometry was used to distinguish cytotypes; it also showed variation in genome size and revealed a new dodecaploid cytotype in the Czech Republic. Subsequent morphometric analysis identified characteristics suitable for distinguishing the individual cytotypes. The most reliable are the length and width of a stem, the length of the leaf, the length of the longest branch, the number of leaves in whorls, the length of the inflorescence and the length of the mericarp. Based on these results, herbarium specimens from several herbaria were examined. The results also showed slightly different ecological preferences of cytotypes and their distribution in the...
The Process of Admitting Vietnam to the ASEAN
Doležal, Vít ; Karlas, Jan (advisor) ; Karmazin, Aleš (referee)
1 Abstract In this bachelor thesis, the topic of Vietnam's admission to ASEAN in 1995 is explored. The decision to accept Vietnam into the organization was peculiar given Vietnam's history and the reasons for the organization's creation. The essay aims to answer the question of why the ASEAN members decided to admit Vietnam. Possible reasons for the decision include mutual economic benefit, common security risks, and social or cultural issues. The thesis uses selected theories in international relations to analyze the topic through a chronological-descriptive analysis of various sources, including book sources, articles in periodicals, legislative documents of the organization, and internet sources. The introductory part of the thesis discusses the origin, reasons for formation, and organizational structure of ASEAN. Additionally, three selected theories of international relations are briefly described to examine the possible reasons for and against the admission of Vietnam into the organization. The thesis determines whether these theories are appropriate for this case. The results of this research could provide insight into the admission of other members, such as Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, or explain why East Timor should be admitted in the future, which has unsuccessfully sought membership since its...
Drivers of ectomycorrhizal fungal species richness on large spatial scales
Petr, Andrej ; Kohout, Petr (advisor) ; Šímová, Irena (referee)
Ectomycorrhizal (EcM) fungi form mutualistic relationships with some woody gymnosperms and angiosperms that play an important role in the functioning of most terrestrial ecosystems. Using enzymes capable of sequestering nitrogen and phosphorus from complex organic compounds, EcM fungi make these elements available to their host plants, which in turn provide them with the carbon compounds on which EcM fungi are vitally dependent. However, different species of EcM fungi differ from each other in their ability to sequester nitrogen and phosphorus from organic compounds, as well as in their carbon requirements from plants. The importance of the EcM symbiosis for the ecosystem therefore depends on the species richness of the EcM fungi, which is influenced at large spatial scales by a number of interacting factors, in particular the density and diversity of host plants, climate and soil properties. As EcM fungi generally exhibit low host preference, the density of host vegetation and the associated higher nutrient availability for EcM fungi has a greater influence on their species richness on a global scale than the phylogenetic diversity of host plants. In addition to these environmental factors, however, the distribution of EcM fungi is strongly related to their biogeographic history. In the context of...
The golden jackal (Canis aureus) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
VESELOVSKÁ, Nina
The golden jackal Canis aureus L. is a medium-sized omnivorous canine. Currently, it is one of the fastest and the most expanding species in Europe. From its original range of occurrence in Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, it has spread in several waves to the western, eastern and northern parts of Europe. It is considered a newly established species in Austria, Hungary and Slovakia and across the whole of the Balkan peninsula. So far, it has been observed in the Baltic states, Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, Germany and the Czech republic. In the latest three, Germany and Czechia, there are also records of reproduction. It's further spread through Europe, its involvement in, and impact on the new ecosystems is only a matter of time. The presented work deals with the issue of the ecology of the jackal and its spreading within the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Europe
