Leachability of Cu, Ni and Co from alkali-activated matrices
Janíčková, Vlasta ; Kalina, Lukáš (referee) ; Koplík, Jan (advisor)
The work deals with the determination and comparison of leaching of heavy metals from two types of alkali activated systems based on blast furnace slag and high-temperature fly ash. These systems are capable in their structure encapsulate heavy metals, toxic substances or radioactive substances, which can be harmful for the environment. The aim of this work is to prepare a mixture with acceptable mechanical properties. Leachibility from matrix was tested according to ČSN EN 12457–4, followed by analyses Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Structure of matrix was analysed using Scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Development of lightweight porous concrete flooring on waste material basis
Šenk, Josef ; Ševčík, Milan (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
This thesis is oriented on lightweight building materials and on development of new leightweight porous concrete flooring on waste material basis.
Specific cement composite based on secondary raw materials with emphasis on durability
Figala, Petr ; Dohnálek,, Pavel (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
Nowadays the attention to the utilization of secondary raw materials as a component of building materials is being paid to in the Czech Republic and in the world. This thesis deals with possibilities of using secondary raw materials as partial cement substitutes in industrial floors. The aim of this thesis is to verify the influence of cement substitution amount with secondary raw materials and their fineness of grinding on the properties of the floor surface in time and on its structure. On the basis of the acquired knowledge, the influence of the pre-treatment of the secondary raw material on the properties of the floor ceiling with an emphasis on the economic aspect was assessed. After evaluating the results, some substitution of cement in the floor screed with secondary raw materials is beneficial. The significant influence of more intensive milling of the floor screeds base on the parameters of the final floor screed was not confirmed. It seems, that it is possible to achieve very good results even when using secondary raw materials with a lower percentage of fine particles. This brings together the economic benefits of lowering the cost of a lower dose of expensive cement by using cheaper secondary raw materials, because pre-treatment of such materials does not require the use of a large amount of energy.
Solubility of power plant fly ashes in high-alkali environment
Kejík, Pavel ; Opravil, Tomáš (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
This work deals with study of alkali activated ashes from high-temperature and fluidized bed coal combustion in thirteen powerplants in Czech republic. A solution of 50% sodium hydroxide was used as an alkali activator in this case. Because the two main elements of these secondary raw materials are silica and aluminum, the main part of the work is study of their evolution to solution and dissolve time dependence. The second part is comparing of the phase composition of powerplant ashes before alkali activation and after that.
Properties of alkai-activated aluminosilicates subjected to high temperatures
Halasová, Kristýna ; Bayer, Patrik (referee) ; Rovnaník, Pavel (advisor)
Currently the concept of geopolymer or alkali activated aluminosilicate is very mentioned topic. Many studies concerning utilization of these materials have already been made, but if we want to use these materials in building industry in the future, further research will be needed. This thesis deals with the influence of high temperatures on alkali-activated slag, fly ash and metakaolin-based composites. The work compares mechanical and technological properties, microstructural changes and effect off iller on the geopolymer composites heated at 200–1200 °C. In conclusion, the individual properties are compared and application possibilities of these materials are evaluated.
Continual helicoidal mixer
Radoš, Pavel ; Malach, František (referee) ; Malášek, Jiří (advisor)
This work contains a proposal for constructions and workings of a worm mixer of clay, lime, cementand fly ash with water for delivery quantity 18 tons per an hour. The introduction describes problems of mixing and mixers in the preparation of building materials. I have mentioned calculation of the main proportions and drive under the relevant norms and self-fortress control of the stresssed parts of mixer. Drawing documentation is worked into the ACad program and contains the configurations of the proposed machinery and detailed subassembly of important parts of worm mixer.
Activation admixtures in concrete
Eger, Lukáš ; Hela, Vlastimil (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor´s work is the summarization and focus on admixure concrete, and the active and inert admixure, which have some positive characteristies for fresh and hardened concrete. Theoretically, I tried to study the increase of their joining potential while this characteristic can be used by either chemici or mechnical way, their combination as well. I also Works on evaluetion of physically mechanical influence for fresh and hardened concrete that can up to 60 days old while the cement was partly substituted by admixure of different character.
Potential replacement of blast furnace slag in mixed Portland cements
Hlavinková, Eva ; Gazdič,, Dominik (referee) ; Fridrichová, Marcela (advisor)
This thesis deals with the possibilities of substitution of blast furnace slag in production of blended portland cements. Attention is focused on secondary raw materials, especially fine fractions from production of crushed aggregates, whereas their impact on the properties of final blended binder is assessed.
Magnetic classification of fly ashes and application of products
Červený, Ľuboš ; Švec, Jiří (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
Submitted bachelor thesis is dealing with problematics of magnetic separation of fly ash and utilization of the products of the separation in production of refractory ceramic materials. High temperature fly ash from power station Mělník was used in this thesis.Thesis evaluates results of magnetic separation at different setting of magnetic separator. It proves, that fraction of particles rich in iron as well as fraction depleted by this iron can be obtained by magnetic separation. In this thesis are presented results of volumetric weight, mineralogic element composition, measurments by heating microscope and results of particle size distribution of unseparated fly ash, but also its both separates. The thesis is focusing on possibilities of utilization as additive in refractory ceramic materials and comparison of their refractory properties. It evaluates results of characterisation of the products using XRD analysis and scanning electron microscopy.
Asphalt recyclated material for base and subbase layers of pavements
Winterová, Karin ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis reviews the use of asphalt recyclated material and its application in the base and subbase layers of pavements. In addition to domestic knowledge, a foreign experience with the use of tested material and also covers currently used technologies for the processing of asphalt recyclates into the constructional layers of roads.is presented. Possibile application of asphalt recyclates in the unblemished and coated subbase layer of the road are verified in the practical part
