Current church choirs in Prague

Bachelor thesis titled Current church choirs in Prague deals with the characterization and description of ten mixed choirs, aktive at major temples in Prague. The content of the chapters focuses on the history of the choirs, their location, organizational structure, repertoire, released CDs, atmosphere and cooperation within the choirs and parishes. Interviews with the choirmasters, a survey with the members of the choirs and other available materials are the sources of information for my thesis. The outcome of this work is to summarize and compare the obtained information.

Metal Concert Visit as a Ritual

This bachelor thesis deals with visiting Metal music concerts. These events are considered to be a ritualised phenomenon which consists of particular elements and which has a particular predictable course. The attention is especially concentrated on the audience of concerts and its behaviour. In the first part of this thesis there are concerned the related concepts such as (Metal) subculture and rituals. The fundamental theoretical basis of this work are the dramaturgic approach of Erving Goffman and the theory of interaction rituals of Randall Collins. The second part is based on a qualitative research where is discussed and described behaviour of the participants at concerts who play in the dramaturgic perspective particular roles which bear themselves the ingrained specific behaviour and dealing by which I can define the situation in which they are. From the point of the interaction rituals there are examined the individual components and the effect of their presence on a success rate of concerts as rituals and motivation of visitors to participate in these events.

This bachelor thesis deals with piano concerto A major by Johann Baptist Vanhal. The first part deals with life and works of Vanhal. Next chapter describes development of concerto. In the next chapter I describe source of Vanhal s piano concerto A major housed at the National Museum and I analyse Vanhal s piano concerto in A major. The score-transcription of analysed concerto is included in appendix.

Summer musical events and their impact on everyday life in the village Lesná

This bachelor thesis is focused on summer musical events (in Czech "parket") and membership of volunteer fire-fighters and their impact on everyday life in village Lesná. The expression "parket" can have more meanings according to the context. Firstly it is designation for summer dance events or concerts, secondly it is designation for the place in the village where these events take place. This paper is based on literature dealing with the influence of local culture and societies on village community which led author to identify several possible functions this events and volunteer fire-fighters membership may have within the structure. The reviewed version of Merton's functional analysis is used to define the functions. These functions are functions of integration and socialisation, functions connected to voluntary work and educational function, function of this events as a place of increased social control, function of revitalization and stabilisation, function of formation, transmission and preservation of traditions, entertainment and compensatory function, function or dysfunction of conflicts, gaining a higher social status and political power in village and economical function. This bachelor thesis is focused on South Bohemian Teachers' Choir. This choir, which is led by choirmaster Theodor Pártl and Anna Voříšková concerts and competes in the Czech Republic and abroad as well. This thesis is divided into chapters, which deals with the history of the choir and its specifics. There are photos of choir, concert programmes and another texts devoted to choirmaster or its choir in the attachment.

Marketing Strategy of Community Centre Rubín in Brno

The main objective of this thesis is the description and complex evaluation of the functioning of the Cultural House Rubin in Brno Žabovřesky in the context of the neighborhood and the city, and create a strategy for its further development. Thesis deals with marketing of culture and describes the functioning of the House of Culture, its program and service offerings, visitors and defines its position within the city. It also contains characteristics of major competitors in the cultural context and sets hypotheses for the practical examination.Research part consists of quantitative research - in the form of a survey among the target audience. The conclusion contains a summary of findings from the theoretical part and practical research and their incorporation into the overall marketing strategy of Community Centre Rubín in Brno.

Concert. Creative project for art education at the primary school.

The thesis follows up processing of art project with topic concert as part of art education at primary school. The overall concept reflected interdisciplinary relations like art education, music and drama. The designed project was realized at one of the primary school in České Budějovice and it is documented in project part of thesis. The theoretical part show relationship between visual art and music in progression of culture. Thesis is developing issue of concert scene in context theatre technology and scenic design. The next part of thesis describe interactions between art education and music in viewpoint curricular documents and it focus on artistic-project methods in art education.

Alternative Proposal of Concert Hall in Brno - Janáček Cultural Center

The Brno Philharmonic is renowned all over the world from London to Tokyo, but in its home town only has a small hall with poor acoustics not suitable for symphony concerts. The efforts to construct a worthy cultural venue to meet the needs of Brno go back to the interwar period and their implementation is still not in sight.The core of the project is a concert hall with capacity of 1,812. Its layout combines the advantages of standard shoebox-shaped halls and surround halls, because the best music experience gets the viewer who is quite close to the orchestra. The disadvantages of the former include poor contact with the orchestra in the rear seating, the latter sacrifice acoustical excellence mainly in the side and rear seating areas for audience proximity and visual stimulation. The building is composed of three functionally distinct parts: the audience’s part, musicians‘ background and technical equipment. The operation of each is placed in a horizontal part of a L-shaped solid. The vertical parts face each other creating a raised central cube containing the concert hall.

Moravian-Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra of Ostrava, Černá louka

The building is located in the city Ostrava in Cerna louka, that is a city district very close to the center and river side, just in a middle of the ortogonal block build up area. The philharmonic is designed like a big block made of brass from which is rising the light glazed volume of the auditorium and where the volume of atrium is hidden in. This 2 volumes represent the future and past values of the city Ostrava. The volume of the auditorium is the only object in whole ortogonal area that is twisted. Due to this fact it gains uniqueness and dissimilarity. Thanks to that is becoming a new symbol of the city.
