Paved road structures and their distresses
Vlk, Radomír ; Dašková, Jaroslava (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to realize the basic characteristics of block paving, to specify theirs advantages and limitations and to suggest their repairs on particular examples of road damages.
Design of asphalt concrete mixture and determinantion of water resistance
Renza, Jaroslav ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes and tests designs of asphalt mixtures of the type asphalt concrete according to the National Annex of the revised standards ČSN EN 13108-1 Asphalt concrete. Designs of mixture were followed by comparing of its resistance to water.
The screw conveyor of aggregate
Tocháček, Jakub ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Kašpárek, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the conceptual design of horizontal screw conveyor for transportation of aggregate. The work consists of technical report and drawings. Technical report contains the calculation of main dimensions, selection of the drive, clutch and bearings, including stress analysis of functional parts. The drawings, which are based on model assembly processed in 3D CAD system, contains a drawing of the entire device, sub-assemblies of bearing seats and welding subassembly of trough.
Design of asphalt mixtures and testing of their resistance against permanent deformation
Dlouhý, Petr ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The thesis deals with the testing of raw materials for the asphalt intermixtures development, where the tests of aggregates and asphalt binders were performed. Consequently two asphalt mixtures, Czech mixture ACO 11 and German mixture AC 11 DS, were developed. The mixtures were further on tested for resistance against permanent malformation. Accomplished results were reciprocally compared.
Design of asphalt concrete mixture and determinantion of the resistance against permanent deformation
Němec, Jan ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem regarding asphalt concrete mixtures, concretely ACO 11+. This type of mixture has low resistance to permanent deformation (rutting) while high temperatures are present. The binder and aggregate tests regarding physical and mechanical properties were carried out. Subsequently the new mixture was designed on the basis of stricter requirement for grading envelope and air void content. The design mixture was tested for resistance to permanent deformation. From the obtained results the change in the national annex of the standard ČSN EN 13108-1 is considered in terms of change in testing temperature for some kinds of binders. The same tests were conducted in others asphalt laboratories in the Czech Republic to ensure the maximum comparability.
Material properties research for use in high-temperature solar thermal storage tank
Šot, František ; Vala, Jiří (referee) ; TROJAN,, Karel (referee) ; Steuer,, Radek (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The use of thermal storage energy, using phase change materials appears to be an effective way to store thermal energy storage with the benefits of the high amount of energy while maintaining isothermal nature of the process. PCM methods are used in latent thermal storage systems for heat pumps, as well as in solar engineering or for temperature control in spacecraft. The past decade has extended these principles for cooling and heating in the building. There are a number of PCM systems, which operate over a wide temperature range, are used in various applications. This document includes a brief overview of the development and analysis of available thermal storage working mainly on the principle of PCM.
Usage of recycled material in stone mastic asphalts
Slavíček, Michal ; Komenda, Radek (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the designs of asphalt mixtures for the wearing asphalt courses, specifically for the SMA 11S with an added 30 % and 50 % RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement), this material was reclaimed from the wearing asphalt course type SMA. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and it deals with the recycling of asphalt roads and adding RAP to the new asphalt mixures for the roads. The second part is practical. It deals with the design itself. Two types of SMA were designed, first with a 30 % RAP and second with a 50 % RAP. In those mixtures functional tests of asphalt mixtures were made. The results were compared to the asphalt mixture with 0 % of RAP and with the mixture with 30 % of RAP reclaimed from the wearing, binder and base course together. The results are summed up in the conclusion.
Assessment of the effect of origin and the fraction of coarse aggregate for flexibility and durability of structural concrete
Hanuš, Petr ; Žalud, Oldřich (referee) ; Vymazal, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with influence of origin and fraction of rough aggregate on the durability and elasticity of structural concrete. As a criterion of durability, the frost resistance of concrete is monitored. In the theoretical part describes the types of aggregates, which are used in structural concretes. In addition, test methods are described to determine the elasticity and durability of concrete according to the test standards valid in the czech republic. In the experimental part of the thesis, seven concretes of the same consistency and strength were designed and mixed, which differed using different types of coarse aggregate. A change in elasticity during freezing cycles was observed
Portable Belt Conveyor for aggregates and crushed rubble
Krbeček, Petr ; Malášek, Jiří (referee) ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the construction design of the portable belt conveyor for aggregate and crushed rubble. The thesis contains the description of basic parts of the belt conveyor and their choice. It also contains a functional calculation according to the valid norm ČSN ISO 5048, the determination of main dimensions of the belt conveyor, the design of the drive and the strength calculation of the tension device. The required technical drawings are attached to the thesis.
Worm conveyor of fine aggregate
Vosika, Jan ; Malášek, Jiří (referee) ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
The main aim of the thesis was to design a horizontal worm-conveyor for the transport of fine aggregate of maximum aggregate gradation of 45 mm, both in terms of construction and strength. The design section of the thesis deals with the problem of an appropriate conveyor driving gear and skidding clutch between the gear and the transport unit according to the amount of transported aggregate. In the computation section, strength check of the drive system is addressed, namely the shaft check, its coupling with the other parts, and the bearing housing. In the last section, the structural design is addressed with respect to safety of operation and ease of maintenance.
