Comparison of virtualization systems technologies
SLÁDEK, Lukáš
This bachelor thesis deals with the description of virtualization technology systems commonly used in IT practice. It discusses basic concepts, defines the term virtualization. The larger part is devoted to analysis of the principles on which the virtualization works. We can find here the concept of hardware virtualization, software virtualization, paravirtualization, hypervisor and other. All of these concepts are explained. The following is a description of products that are in common practice used to virtualization, including the description of their architecture and components of virtualization systems. Three representatives of hardware virtualization are described in detail -- VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen Hypervisor and two representatives of the software virtualization -- Oracle VM VirtualBox and VMware Workstation as well. These five products are tested and evaluated in the last part of the thesis. Based on the overall benchmarking are systems approximately the same performance, but in particular tests we can find differences.

The practical part describes used research method to achieve the objectives. It consists in the profit of a sufficient number of relevant information obtained by questionnaire survey. In the end is a summary of the information gained by analyzing and interpreting, which is the goal of this thesis.
Cloud Computing: Overview of available SaaS solutions
Hrubý, Jakub ; Margaris, Nikos (advisor) ; Feuerlicht, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with an area of Cloud Computing, which is called Software as a Service, or SaaS in short. In summary, it is the application delivery model run over the Internet. The aim is the introduction of the concept of Cloud Computing with its characteristics, detailed explanation of the concept of SaaS, including key features, benefits and limitations and at the end of this thesis mapping and evaluation of ERP product offers provided as a service on the Czech market. The theoretical part is based on a literature research of expert books, articles and other electronic resources. The subsequent mapping of product offers lies in searching for infor-mation via the Internet. Evaluation of available properties based on the product and is based on the criteria established on the basis of expert studies and articles. The evaluation is based on available properties of products and on the criteria established on the basis of expert studies and articles. The main contribution of this work is, in my opinion, the mapping of current ERP product offers provided as a service on the Czech market and their evaluation based on selected criteria. The structure of this paper follows the main aims. The first part deals with theory and is always proceeded from general to specific. In the second part there is space defined for mapping offers on the Czech market, closer selection of products for evaluation, presenta-tion of evaluation methods and the final comparison.

Server consolidation as a process within an organization
Hartmann, Petr ; Bruckner, Tomáš (advisor)
Abstract This thesis deals with the process of server consolidation, which is tightly connected to IT infrastructure of virtually any organization. Moreover it is dealt in some respect with the way the organization runs and with linking these two particular areas together. The goal of this thesis is to identify consequences or impacts of server consolidation process on the way the organization functions and on methods how to measure these impacts. One of the steps towards this goal is unmistakably analyzing the planning and deployment of server consolidation including virtualization technology. Server consolidation is characterized as a process leading to simplified and more effective IT infrastructure of an organization. To analyze the IT infrastructure in complete and systematic way it is used framework called IT Infrastructure Library respectively part of it called ICT Infrastructure Management. Because of that linking of the server consolidation process progress to organization's global goals is granted. Contribution of this thesis can be seen in complex analysis of the consequences of the server consolidation process to the functioning of an organization. Especially in areas that are usually not being considered in connection with server consolidation, which is considered to be IT matter, such as human resources and social enviroment. Key words: server consolidation, server consolidation consequences, ICT Infrastructure Management, Virtualization
Server consolidation and virtualization
Rybák, Martin ; Bruckner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Zima, Radek (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of complexity of current IT. As a result, the consolidation of servers using virtualization is the answer to permanently growing complexity of server infrastructure. The thesis summarizes the basic aspects of this issue, compares the contributions and tries to analyze problems which can emerge. Further, it points a way of consolidation journey, compares different types of virtualization and elaborates the contributions of virtualization for corporate IS/ICT and its flexibility of solution. It analyzes present state of the market with virtualization tools, describes and compares some products of the market key players and analyzes the new opportunities for virtualization, e. g. the virtual desktop infrastructure. At the end, it suggests an approach for consolidated project solution in practice and tries to show some basic steps which should not be omitted. Besides the complex view to the topic, the thesis also presents the contributions, risks and questions to be raised and, at least partly, answers these questions.
