Evaluation of prepared investment project
Stránská, Eva ; Scholleová, Hana (advisor) ; Habrnal, Marek (referee)
The topic of the Master's Thesis is an evaluation of a real prepared development project considering strategic analysis. The strategic analysis contains an evaluation of current and expected macroeconomic situation including development of residential market in whole Czech Republic and Prague. The aim is to give a recommendation to investors whether to realize intended investment or not. The theoretical part clarifies specifics of investment decisions, defines entry parameters for investment evaluation and as well as introduces of particular stages of the evaluated investment project. In conclusion of theoretical part is described risk analysis. Introduction of the practical part is presentation of chosen development project. It is followed by analysis of its internal a external potential. After that comes the definition of entry values for evaluation of project by dynamic methods. The conclusion of the practical part includes sensitivity analysis and complex evaluation of investment project.
Use of Methods of Managerial Decision-Making in foundation of the new enterprise on the market
Oberhel, Martin ; Pudil, Pavel (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
This thesis is focused on the methods and tools which are helpful in decision-making under uncertainty and risk. The methods of decision-making for discrete and continuous values of risk factors are used in the thesis. In case of discrete values of risk factors and decision-making under risk, the thesis uses the rule of expected values, the rule of expected value and variance and also calculates the value of perfect information. In case of decision-making under uncertainty, the thesis is focused on the rule of maximin and maximax, Laplace's rule, Hurwitz's rule and Savage's rule. The following part of the thesis is devoted to decision-making with continuous values of risk factors. It utilizes the Monte Carlo simulation method and the sensitivity analysis with the help of Lumina Analytica software. The last part of the thesis is aimed at utilization of decision trees in case of multistage decision-making. It uses the Treeplan software which works as a plugin in MS office Excel. All the mentioned methods are practically applied to a concrete case of analysing and ex post evaluating the business plans of a company, which is based at Jindřichův Hradec market.
Business Valuation Using Simulation
Gavrylyuk, Zinayida ; Mařík, Miloš (advisor) ; Luxemburk, Patrik (referee)
The following thesis is focused on the use of Monte Carlo simulation in business valuation. It examines the theoretical context of the valuation process and simulation techniques and subsequently applies these to the valuation of Plzeňský Prazdroj, a. s. as of 31.3.2008. The aim was to explore the potential of application of Monte Carlo simulation and to interpret obtained information. There was created the valuation model and performed sensitivity analysis based on which there were identified factors which have significant impact on the value. These were further investigated and characterized in terms of probability. Following the extension of the model to include uncertainty factors there was simulated business value in relation to the variability of uncertainty factors and the result was subsequently interpreted. It was concluded that Monte Carlo simulation may be useful predominantly in search for subjective value for investor due to additional information obtained.
Investment project analysis of a biogas power plant
Halama, Adam ; Machek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Krause, Josef (referee)
The goal of this master thesis is to evaluate an investment project to a biogas power plant. The first part of the master thesis defined the essential theory needed for the capital investment decisions. There is overview of the most important investment criteria like net present value and methods and sources of project financing. In the analytical part I calculate the necessary values like revenues, operational costs and depreciation in order to find out projects cash flow. The investment is then evaluated by investment criteria. In order to make the analysis more accurate the sensitivity analysis is made. In the last part of the thesis there is an overview of results and a investment recommendation.
On Two Methods for the Parameter Estimation Problem with Spatio-Temporal FRAP Data
Papáček, Š. ; Jablonský, J. ; Matonoha, Ctirad
FRAP (Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching) is a measurement technique for determination of the mobility of fluorescent molecules (presumably due to the diffusion process) within the living cells. While the experimental setup and protocol are usually fixed, the method used for the model parameter estimation, i.e. the data processing step, is not well established. In order to enhance the quantitative analysis of experimental (noisy) FRAP data, we firstly formulate the inverse problem of model parameter estimation and then we focus on how the different methods of data pre- processing influence the confidence interval of the estimated parameters, namely the diffusion constant $p$. Finally, we present a preliminary study of two methods for the computation of a least-squares estimate $\hat{p}$ and its confidence interval.
Evaluation of investment project of the company Moravia Sport Group s.r.o.
Dudová, Martina ; Scholleová, Hana (advisor) ; Nováková, Soňa (referee)
The topic of the thesis is an evaluation of a real investment project of the company Moravia Sport Group s.r.o. with regard to the current and projected development of macro area, competitive environment and financial analysis results. The aim of this thesis is to give recommendations for the management of the company in order to decide whether to realize or reject the intended project. The theoretical part summarizes the basic analysis, the stages of the investment decision, the parameters entering into the investment evaluation and methods of their evaluation. In its practical part, the thesis initially presents the analysis of the external environment and inner potential of the company performed at first. Subsequently the investment project including its input parameters is introduced and an evaluation of the investment on the basis of defined methods is performed. The conclusion of the practical part is devoted to the sensitivity analysis and overall assessment of the investment plan.
Analysis of the specific investment project (biogas station), evaluation of its effectiveness and impact on the financial stability of the company.
STRAKATÁ, Jaroslava
This thesis deals with the issue of investment decisions, which is important for every business. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of selected investment project.First, we conducted a financial analysis to assess the current status of the company. Then we have identified the revenue and expenditure of the project. We also have assessed the effectiveness of investments in several variants. At the conclusion of the project was assessed risk.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of the selected investment project, including the selection of the optimal method of financing.
KOČOVÁ, Lenka
This work discusses about issues of investment decision, which is crucial for every business. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of selected investment project. To assess the potential of this investment, was necessary to assess the current status, whether the enterprise has enough resources to finance this intensive investment. Whether the project is not associated with an increase in the financial risk of the company. Then were identified revenues and expeditures of the project. It was finally in the evaluation of the effectiveness of investments carried out an analysis of the risk of the project.
Photovoltaic power plant in Romania
Brothánek, Ondřej ; Hartman, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Pavlína (referee)
Renewable energy resources, especially photovoltaics, have experienced enormous boom all over the world in the past few years. It was completely the same in Czech Republic where you would not find anybody without his own opinion regarding PV business. Installation of PV power plants has become very attractive business, with very significant role in 2011 in Czech Republic. At this time, this solar boom has found its "home" in other European countries, particularly in Eastern Europe. The post of the new Eastern Europe's "powerhouse" can defend even Romania, that's the cause I have chosen this country as the subject of this thesis. The aim of this thesis is to create a business plan for PV power plant and evaluate the investment opportunity of its installation in Romania. And then by means of a sensitivity analysis find out the impact of external factors that can significantly affect the profitability of the project.
