This diploma thesis entitled "Environmental policy of the European Union and its impact on the environmental policy of the Slovak Republic" targets the environmental policy of these two entities, focusing on a specific area, namely waste management. Despite the fact that environmental policy did not belong to the original agenda of the European Union during its creation, today, due to the gradual development characterized in the first part of the work, the EU is a prominent player in this field. In other parts of the work we describe how Slovakia has gradually undergone a progressive change, ie Europeanization, through its involvement in EU policies. Based on the membership of the Slovak Republic in the European Union since 2004, the Slovak Republic has obligations and commitments, which shows the significant influence of the European Union, and thus the existing environmental policies of the Member States are no longer politically or legally separated from EU environmental policy. In addition to the goal of providing a comprehensive overview of the development of environmental policy of the both European Union and the Slovak Republic since its formation, the main goal is to analyze the implementation of waste management in the form of Framework Directive 2008/98 / EC on waste. This goal is based...

The main approach to the scenario building in this thesis is the method of Cross-Impact Balance. Scenarios were created by semi-structured interviews with experts and by using the combinatorial analysis of consistency in terms of cross-impact of individual variants of the driving forces. The result of this thesis is five scenarios, referring to the future context of the environment of the Slovak Republic, depending on the development of a combination of different variants of external factors. For this scenarios there has been prepared the analysis of risks and opportunities in the perspective of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. Identified scenarios can be briefly described through the impact from least to the most positive. The first scenario shows the threat of an environmental collapse. The second scenario describes a power struggle over the resources and the consequences of excessive use of raw materials. The middle scenario describes the risk...

Čirka, Martin ; Kaddour, Mirvat (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
Nowadays, aircraft transportation influences everyday life in our society, but not only by its advantages of efective traveling, but also by its negative impact on environment, therefore us, people. Due to this reason, I decided to concern myself about noise reducing of aircraft engines in this thesis. Research in this field helps to develop comfort of traveling, but also very important fact is noise impact on people living in surroundings near airports. To understand problem to the roots, first we need to know how is noise actually defined. First part of my bachelor’s thesis contains describtion of sound and noise. I’m also focusing on methods for noise measurement and actions, which are used for noise reduction. Greatest success have been made with Variable Geometry Chevrons, which can adjust to different flying conditions and not just reduce noise, but also can keep thrust of the engine at the same level and is also reducing fuel consumtion during level flight. In fourth chapter, you’ll come to know about regulations, which were made to adopt standards and recommended practices concerning aircraft polution. Also very important factor for setting up new standards is process of aircraft testing, so I summed up principles and procedures, which are usedby aviation organizations.
