The Repechy Guest-House
Strnad, Miroslav ; Keith, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis is based on a studio project created in the summer term of the third year of the undergraduate studies. The task was the renewal and the extension of the farmhouse for an accommodation facility and other services. The farmhouse is situated in a small village Repechy near the town of Prostejov and is complemented by two other unused buildings. In the second half of the 20th century, rectangular shaped farmhouse with a yard was roofed, interior walls were partially demolished and interior space was used for keeping the cattle. It had a big impact for the current condition of the object. Aggressive environment and high humidity, for which structures were not designed, significantly accelerate the degradation process. Later, the cattle was moved away and the original farmhouse is deteriorating until these days. Currently, the object and its surroundings are in a bad condition. Most of the constructions are damaged and it is not possible to use them anymore. Northern tract is the only part worth protection. There are preserved precious historical chambranles and other plastic decoration. Surroundings is overgrown with wild vegetation. The aim was to preserve and bring out valuable parts of the original object and find them appropriate use under specified conditions. The proposal deals with the removal of three sides of a rectangular farmhouse and preserving the northern tract in the form of a torso. Extension is based on the original farmhouse. Extends the original built up area boundary to use existing structure and creates the first volume, which symbolizes the traditional static form. Rotated duplicate of the first volume then characterized a modern and dynamic attitude in architecture. The final design of an extension is created by synthesis of both volumes as an evidence of the coexistence of a traditional and a modern form. Designed extension has one floor, locally basement and second floor. The extension is also characterized by the use
The feasibility of different biodosimetric methods for dose estimation in case of radiation accidents.
PAVEZKA, Luboš
A deterioration of the coincidental hazards linked to the use of ionizing radiation is currently observed for four reasons. First, the increasing demand for radiation sources in numerous industrial applications (food sterilization, construction, engineering) leads to an increasing likelihood of loss of the sources or abnormal/unsuitable use and storage. Second, advances in medicine generate new protocols and tools that are more efficient but also much more complex to execute, increasing the risk of accidental overexposure. Third, the possibility of a terrorist attack using radiological or nuclear devices has to be taken into account. Finally, recent events in Fukushima (Japan) highlight the risks of exposure in the case of nuclear power plant accidents. All these issues could lead to the accidental exposure of one to several thousand individuals not wearing dosimeters. Thus, it is essential to be able to assess the exposure level of victims. Nowadays, this evaluation is based on clinical diagnosis (mainly irradiation symptoms and hematological variations) supplemented with biological dosimetry andphysical dose reconstruction. Biological dosimetry is especially important when the personal dosimeter is lacking or when the accidental context is unclear. All this information should help the medical staff to deliver appropriate medical care and to manage the long-term medical follow-up, if required. To fulfil this task, the dose estimates has to be timely, exact and conclusively reached in large-scale disasters. In my bachelor thesis, I have focused on the applicability of the various techniques for different scenarios: small- and large-scale exposes to different levels of a radiation that could manage to the urgent radiation syndrome and exposures with lower doses that do not need direct care, but should be followed for evidence of long-term impacts. The principle of biodozimetry is to utilize changes caused in the individual by ionizing radiation to estimate the dose and, if feasible, to predict or reflect the clinically relevant reaction. Optimally, the changes should be specific for ionizing radiation, and the response should be unaffected by prior medical or physiological variations among subjects, including changes that might be caused by the stress and trauma from a radiation event. There are two basic types of biodozimetry with dissimilar and very often complementary characteristics: those based on changes in biological parameters such as gene activation or chromosomal abnormalities and those based on physical changes in tissues. Factors advised comprise: time interval when the assay is feasible biologically, time for sample preparation and analysis, dose finding limit, ease of use, logistical demands, potential efficiency, point-of-care eligibility, and the ability to support patient diagnosis and treatment within a therapeutically relevant time point. The development of of biodozimetry has been mainly encouraged by the needs after a large-scale accident, where it is essential to have a tool or device to identify those individuals who would profit to be brought into the medical care system.
Metrics used in credit risk
Kožár, Ondrej ; Luc, Ladislav (advisor) ; Franěk, Petr (referee)
This thesis focuses on the issue of metrics used in credit risk. Specifically, the capital requirement, the NPL share and risk costs. The first section describes the credit risk and with what metrics can be measured. In this section you can also find out what parameters are required for their intended use, these parameters are the Probability of default, Amortization, Exposure, NPL and the Loss given default . The practical part of this work is devoted to the analysis of the situation in the Česká spořitelna and design solutions to identified problems. From this analysis crystallize two fundamental problems arising from lack of employee familiarity with metrics used in credit risk .For their solution is to use the first part of this paper an overview of metrics with clarifying some key features. The aim of this work was to create a comprehensive list of metrics used in credit risk, an explanation of their interaction and the use of tools to solve the problem situation in the Česká spořitelna.
Vulnerability Management in the Corporate IT Infrastructure
Hronek, Tomáš ; Veber, Jaromír (advisor) ; Klíma, Tomáš (referee)
The present thesis deals with the area of vulnerability management and its relation to information security. Its main purpose is to set the topic of vulnerability management in context of company information security and to explain its relationship to related disciplines. In the practical part, selected vulnerability assessment tools are compared and methodology is applied to determine the criticality of the vulnerabilities identified in relation to the provided IT services. The objectives were achieved by literature review, personal consultations with employees responsible for information security at J&T Bank and by comparing the results of several tools for assessing vulnerability (Nessus, Retina, OpenVAS, Nexpose, Tripwire). To date, there has not been published a thesis devoted exclusively to the topic of vulnerability management. This thesis is the first one to provide comparable results of vulnerability scanning of the same targets. Equally valuable is the application of Common Vulnerability Scoring System to determine the criticality of the vulnerabilities identified in relation to delivered IT services.
Elements of Commercial Video Expression
Zeman, Daniel ; Truhlář, Filip (advisor) ; Mezuláník, Radek (referee)
This paper deals with the the theoretical description of fundamental elements in cinematography. The document focuses mainly on elements associated with each shot, such as the framing, camera movement, speed of motion or onscreen space as well as on the most basic rules of editing and on the relation of shot to shot. For each group of elements, gives examples of the use of these elements in real commercials videos. The theoretical part is then used to analyze short advertising video. The video is broken down into individual shots, and they are then analyzed by different groups of elements. After this analysis the work brings the synthesis of analyzed data from shots and then, conclusions are drawn about the quality and quantity of basic elements in the analyzed commercial video. The last part of the paper deals with concept of promotional videos for a wedding agency and the entire document concludes in storyboard for pre-wedding spot.

Vliv výmladkového hospodaření na strukturu a diverzitu dřevinného patra v jihovýchodní Evropě
Svoboda, Jan
This work deals with the influence coppice management on the structure and diversity of coppice forest in Turkey (Southeastern Europe). Data are characterizing the local natural conditions in the school forest area of Istanbul University. The structure was measured by Field-map, 46 plots with a radius of 9 m (254 m2). The data were analyzed in the R statistic programme. It was found that the influence of habitat and exposure to the representation of individual tree species is statistically significant. Abundance of species was significantly higher in the active coppice. Shannon's diversity index was the highest at hill exhibition. Species evenness (Evenness) EH increased proportionally with the content of calcium (Ca) in the soil.
Vliv nadmořské výšky a severní expozice na morfologickou a anatomickou stavbu jehlic smrku ztepilého
Ambrož, Petr
There were chosen three localities even-aged spruce growth from different altitudes and northern exposure at the Jeseníky Mountains. Subsequently, literary review was composed. The introductory part to the bachelor's thesis is mainly focused on the description, ecology and the influence of climatic conditions on growth and assimilation apparatus of Norway spruce in. Later, sun-exposed one-year old shoots were sampled from the selected localities. Needles were taken from the shoots and then used for making the cross-sections. Other needles were taken for needle area and length analysis. Morphological and anatomical analysis was done on the microscopic pictures. Results were processed statistically by program Statistica 12. It was found that with increasing altitude the length and the projection area of needles are decreasing. The predictive maps for some morphological and anatomical parameters were also created by the use of elevations and solar radiation data in ArcGIS.
Vliv nadmořské výšky a jižní expozice na morfologicko-anatomickou stavbu jehlic smrku ztepilého
Bartoňová, Lenka
In the introduction of the thesis is a literature review focused on the morphology, ecology, area of occurrence and the influence of climate on the growth of Norway spruce. Three same-age spruce stands were selected in Jeseníky mountains which had different altitude and the same exposition. Samples of one-year old sun-exposed shoots were taken from the selected stands. On the needles was carried out the morphological-anatomical analysis. It was found, that altitude affects the needle parameters - needles at higher altitudes compared to needles growing on spruces at lower altitudes are thicker, wider, shorter and relatively the area of central cylinder increase compare to needle cross-section area. Exposure affects only the cross-section area, length and the projected area of needles. Using geospatial technologies have been developed predictive maps of solar radiation and altitude influence on needle parameters.
