Mobile marketing - current state and future

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to introduce the concept of mobile marketing, its possibilities in these modern times and the laws of this issue in the Czech Republic. Based on my own research is determined most and least favorite type of mobile marketing. The practical part contains an analysis of mobile application, which deals with information services in the field of technological innovations. Based on a survey among the users and the overall analysis of the application are suggested possible improvements in development of the application and the mobile marketing.
Platform independent application interface based on REST architecture.

This Diploma thesis deals with creation of web application, REST API, SDK for Android and iPhone platform and example application for these two platforms. The first part of work analyses the current application interfaces. The second part describes the selected technologies and implementation.
M-learning - mobile applications for education

The aim of this thesis is to provide a reader with complex view on the issue of mobile learning. In a theoretical part the basic concepts and definitions are explained. These are those definitions and concepts, which are related to this issue, and further use of m-learning and its advantages and disadvantages are mentioned. Moreover some recommendations for creating a suitable mobile content, forms of m-learing applications together with taking their advantages and disadvantages into account are listed. The subject of a practical part is analysis of mobile learning applications, which can be used by students of Informatics at University of Economics in Prague. This is reached by selecting available applications, their description and follow-up analysis. By evaluation of these applications multicriteria method with equal importance of weight of criterias was used. The output of analysis is assessment, whether these applications are suitable for student education and how students can use them during their studies.
Application development for Android and iOS

This thesis covers topic of mobile application development for Android and iOS. It also points out differences between Android and iOS programming. The main goal is to de-scribe the whole process of development which starts by choosing suitable mobile plat-forms and ends by distribution of finished application. The theory is shown on video streaming application. The first part of this thesis covers choosing of suitable platforms for development. Next chapter focuses on different development methods of mobile applica-tions. The rest of thesis is dedicated to Android and iOS development. There is one chapter covering software development kit and one chapter covering mobile user interface - its principles and creation methods. The last theoretical chapter covers fundamentals of each Android and iOS application. The whole development process of sample application is described in the seventh chapter. It includes functional and non-functional application re-quirements, analysis, design of user interface, implementation, testing and distribution of finished application. This thesis is supposed to be jump start for all new developers, who consider mobile application development.
Modern sales promotion using mobile technologies

The diploma thesis deals to design and develop mobile application for sales promotion in retail chains. Mobile application is created on base of designed service for sales support, that subject and design is written in thesis too. Mobile application uses the most modern technologies, which are now available in mobile devices. This technologies ensuring identification of customer in store, share marketing information to customer and other possibilities gaining detailed information about shopping behavior of customer. Thanks to those data is possible analyze customer by different methods which are in thesis described too. Based on this analyses it can be streamlined sales, shopping and other retail processes. Main aim of thesis is make usable mobile application which promote sales in retail chain. Theoretical part of thesis deals to describe general marketing on which is based analytical marketing resp. Data-Driven Marketing. Next part of this chapters is defining of retail, explaining its specifics and showing interleave to modern technologies. Concrete possibilities of modern technologies is presented in last chapter of theoretical part which is primary focused on mobile application developing in IBM Worklight environment. Practical part of thesis is divided to two chapters where first chapter deals to description designing service for sales promotion. Description is built by architecture, data flows and design of communication interfaces. In second chapter is described design of mobile application based on the service, from user interface to technological architecture. In this part of thesis the mobile application is developed, provided as a OpenSource with all source codes and available online as a demo version. The main output of thesis is mentioned mobile application, which is detailed described in end of practical part. There is specified link to online available version of this application. Mobile application contains diverse functionality for customer and its aims to test usability of modern possibilities in real-life.
Android application for playing of web radios

The goal of this work is to gain tool, for playing internet radios on the Android platform. Firstly I made a research, where I was looking for current solutions. After that I analysed theirs lacks. After the analysis and consultation with PLAY.CZ a. s. company (which owns server play.cz) I designed new solution. The soliton is native application for the Android platform written in Java programing language. At practical part of this work I described the implementation of the application.
Hybrid mobile application development

The aim of this work is to gradually explain the principles of the development of hybrid mobile applications using jQuery, jQuery Mobile and Apache Cordova on top of the standard web technologies - HTML5, CSS, JavaScript. Practical part of this thesis contains application examples. The theoretical part describes the jQuery Mobile framework, explains the different phases of the application lifecycle from design to distribution. It will show how to generate dynamic content and interact with backend, how to test and debug the application directly from your mobile device and how to access native features of mobile devices using the Apache Cordova framework.
Use of tablets during study at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics of the University of Economics in Prague

This bachelor's degree thesis describes the possibilities of using tablets by students in specifically selected compulsory and elective courses within the branch of study Applied Informatics at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, University of Economics, Prague. The thesis contains, inter alia, information about what's tablet, what are the types of tablets and operating systems running on them, what are the possible accessories and their general possibilities of use in the study. The current state of the division of the tablet market, representation of different operating systems and the possibility of including the tablet in the school environment and connection to school infrastructure are also described. The main part deals with a thorough analysis of the software used in the selected courses and focuses then on finding suitable alternatives, if any, which can be run on any tablet with one of operating systems - iOS, Android and Windows. In the conclusion, the use of tablets is evaluated vis-a-vis the study of selected courses within the branch of study Applied Informatics, including recommendations for changes in these courses. At the same time the best operating system for the study of selected subjects is recommended.
Game development with implementation of free to play payment model on Android platform

The objective of this thesis is to give an overview of possibilities of monetizing an application on Android platform and to evaluate its advantages and disadvantages. Next objective is to describe aspects of developing applications on this platform. The main goal of this thesis is to develop a mobile application, which will demonstrate the possibility of in-app payments. The thesis is divided into several chapters. The first one describes which technologies were used. Next chapter is about particular possibilities of monetization, which take into consideration not only the mobile market. This thesis then describes different aspects of developing an application on Android platform. The practical part deals with the development of a mobile game application with in-app payments and its distribution through Google Play -- an internet marketplace. The main benefit of this thesis is an explanation of procedures of making game application on Android platform with implementation of free to play payment system.
Automated GUI testing on Android platform

With the rapid development of the mobile device market there is a growing demand for quality of applications developed for these devices. One of the important factors that may affect the quality of the software is, due to the dynamics of development of this sector, automated testing. Great importance has graphical user interface testing. This thesis focuses on specific techniques for the Android platform, which is currently one of the most widely used mobile platforms. The aim of this thesis is firstly to describe the specific factors of automated testing of mobile applications that arises from the specific features of mobile devices. Another goal of the theoretical part is to describe several possible approaches to automate graphical user interface testing on Android platform. The aim of the practical part is to show the possibilities of selected test tools for concrete examples and compare them according to predetermined criteria.
