Physiotherapy for people with cerebral palsy from 15 to 30 years old
ŠKOPKOVÁ, Eva
For my bachelor thesis I chose topic Physiotherapy of Persons between fifteen and thirty Years of Age Suffering Cerebral Palsy. Number of patients with this disorder is still increasing, but since 50s of the 20th century neonatal care began to become better. Thanks to this improvement in medical care number of saved newborns, who would have earlier died because of the consequences of prematureness or diseases, is now higher. These children are often disabled by cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is an untreatable disease, whose displays can be influenced only by a well chosen therapy. Bachelor thesis has two basic parts. The first one is theoretical, which is divided into a general and special part. In the general part, I focused on the sum of theoretical knowledge about cerebral palsy, I paid attention to the characteristics of the disease, incidence, etiology, pathological anatomy and to the classification of cerebral palsy. Then I focused on the diseases associated with cerebral palsy. I describe physiotherapy of cerebral palsy patients with focus on reflexive locomotion in the special part of my bachelor thesis. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to summarize knowledge about cerebral palsy. Considering that one of the basic features of the treatment is physiotherapy, I devoted my attention to the most usually used methods in the treatment of cerebral palsy. The theoretical part is concerned with methods of reflex-locomotion (Vojtova metoda), of Redcord ? therapy and by the concept of Mr. and Mrs.Bobaths. In the practical part of my thesis I made a quality research, where I specified goals of my work, offered description of methodology, characteristics of a file, and I made three casuistries. A part of the casuistries were anamneistic data and making of preliminary and output exploration. These explorations included objective general assessment, establishing locomotive state according to professor Vojta, exploration of locomotive abilities and goniometric explorations too. All persons went through classification of spasticity according to Ashworth´s measures and exploration of shorten muscles was also done. Research was made in the ARPIDA centre in České Budějovice, it took three months (March, April and June/2013) ? investigation of one patient of all three took circa one month, in which 9 therapies were done. The aim of practical part is to bring physiotherapical plan for observed patients with cerebral palsy. Results show that short-termed treatment had positive effect on health state of all three observed patients. The most affected areas were stability, correction of axial organ, but hypertonus of muscles and empowerment of weakened muscles also became better. The bachelor thesis can be used as a source of information for orientation in the topic of cerebral palsy by students of physiotherapy, but can also serve as an educative material for patients between fifteen and thirty years of their age and by their parents. Thesis could also be an inspiration for physiotherapists, who could think about their own treatment therapies for patients with cerebral palsy with the usage of not so known method Redcord?.
Early care for children with disabilities, its significance and evaluation in the Pilsen and South-Bohemia district
FILIPOVÁ, Edita
Early intervention is a very important component of care for children with disabilities; it is vital that parents learn about its importance as soon as possible after the child?s birth or, as soon as possible after having discovered the child´s disability. Contacts on early intervention providers should be easily accessible to parents; if possible, they should be informed on the availability of early intervention by the attending physician. However, this only rarely happens, as is witnessed by the evaluation of the research processed in this thesis. The present thesis deals with the importance and evaluation of early intervention in Pilsen Region and the Region of South Bohemia as seen from the client?s point of view, i.e. from the point of view of the families with children with visual and multiple impairments. The thesis has been divided into a theoretical and a research parts. The first chapter deals with the theoretical basis of early intervention. The notion of early intervention is defined there; further to this, it gives an account of its origin and development, its distribution and legal conditions. The chapter is supplemented by an analysis of early intervention in Pilsen Region and the Region of South Bohemia, on which this work is focused. Further the present thesis discusses the issue of disability, which is closely related to early intervention. It deals with the definition of disability, the causes of its emergence, and it describes different types of disability. It also contains important information for families with children with disabilities. The concluding part of this chapter analyses the position of people with disabilities in the society. The theoretical part of the thesis has been based upon the analysis of available specialist publications and Internet sources. In the research part are defined the objectives and methods of the research, the characteristics of respondents are presented and the case studies published. Analysis and comparison of the data gathered in interviews is an important part of the research. The chapter concludes with the evaluation and conclusions of the research. The present thesis aims to evaluate the service and clients? satisfaction with early intervention service in the two selected regions. The research questions set for the research have been as follows: 1) How did the parents who found themselves in a difficult situation benefited from early intervention? 2) What would be the consequences for the families, should EIC cease to exist? To evaluate the outputs, qualitative research strategy has been chosen. The research group has included 10 families (5 of Pilsen Region and 5 of the Region of South Bohemia). A semi-structured interview has been chosen as the method of the data eliciting. The data have been processed by a qualitative content analysis. As the interviews with parents have shown, early intervention services proved very helpful to all of the families, although initially some of the parents did not know what they should expect. The main benefit everyone saw as the early intervention advisor attending them at home, showing them how to work and play with their child and how to develop its abilities. The parents also appreciated the opportunity to borrow tools and toys that most of them either would be not able to afford to buy or they would not even think such things may be used effectively as toys or tools. Everyone appreciated the psychological support they were provided with as well as the contacts on other specialists and experts; last but not least, they all enjoyed the opportunity to meet other parents. None of the respondents did note any problem nor gave any suggestion on how early intervention as presented to them should be altered or improved. The thesis will be used for the needs of Centres of Early Intervention to assess the provided services and identify those that were the most important to their clients, both former and current.
Physiotherapy for children threatened by the developing CP in the 1 year of life
ŠPIKOVÁ, Alžběta
In my bachelor thesis I have dealt with the problematic therapy of children with cerebral palsy. The aim has been defined as a presentation of therapeutic methods used at children endangered by cerebral palsy in the first year of life and the determination of the time aspect of the therapy. In the theoretical part I have dealt with the topic of psychomotor development of a child and the facts related to coming down with cerebral palsy, that includes its definition, causes of development, types and diagnosis. Since the most widely used method in the Czech Republic for children with cerebral palsy is Vojta´s reflex locomotion, the aim of the research part was to present this method in more detail and to find out experience with its use. The respondents were represented by 28 parents of children afflicted by cerebral palsy, who are treated in special diagnostic Center. This part of the work is methodologically based on the principles of qualitative research. Inquiry method has been used, employing semi-structured interview. The answers to questions demonstrate that an early diagnosis of the disease and an immediate institution of treatment is the main necessary condition for reaching optimal outcomes of the treatment. According to the research, the efficiency of the treatment also depends on its frequency, the expert guidance of professional physiotherapists for parents, their comprehension and conviction that the therapy will be successful. The investigation further showed that parents of children with cerebral palsy tried other therapeutic methods than Vojta´s reflex locomotion, but for lack of cooperation of the child, negligible results of other therapies or poor availability of their parents completed the application. The research findings also showed that improvement, which in practice Vojta´s reflex locomotion in their children diagnosed with cerebral palsy occurs, the main reason for this therapeutic method remain and will continue to apply.

BLECHOVÁ, Vendula
The theoretical part of this work contains the definition of the Infantile cerebral palsy and its associated handicaps, then it contains a short explanation of the term ?communication? as well as a summary of the most widely used and actual methods and instruments for the alternative and augmentative communication. The first aim of this Bachelor work is to get an overview about the methods and systems of the alternative and augmentative communication in the area of České Budějovice used by the communication training and by the communication itself with the children who suffer the Infantil cerebral palsy. The second aim of this work is to find out, what´s the attitude to these methods from the view of these childrens´ parents, who are using such methods by their own children. For gaining the required data, a qualitative research has been carried out, in concrete ?The methods of observation and interview? in the form of a structured interview with opened questions. The interviews were realized both with the concrete parents of these handicaped children, who communicate with their children by using the methods of alternative and augmentative communication ? and also with the specialized staff who work with these handicaped children. The interviews were realized in the ARPIDA, o.s. center and in the Světluška, o.p.s. center in České Budějovice. From this research it has emerged, that from all these alternative and augmentative methods - suitable for the communication training with these handicaped children - the interviewed specified staff from České Budějovice uses mostly the method ?The Picture Exchange Communication System? and as a supporting method ?Communication tables?. The parents, who decided to use the methods of alternative and augmentative communication, find these methods mostly positive. This work could serve as an informational material for parents, specialized staff and for applicants who are interested in systems of alternative and augmentative communication.

Utilization of alternative and augmentative communication systems for children with cerebral palsy
UHLÍKOVÁ, Barbora
This thesis describes the use of alternative communication systems with children who suffer from cerebral palsy (CP) The introduction of the thesis briefly defines CP, its varieties and the causes of its outburst. I paid particular attention to defected communication skills of individuals with CP which negatively affect one's development. The overview of alternative and augmentative communication methods (AAC) focuses particularly on the methods aiming at compensation of impaired communication skills used in the Czech Republic. Second part of the paper contains case studies describing concrete situations with individual children. All the studies examine cases of clients with CP using the AAC. The goal of the paper is to define whether the use of AAC methods leads to an improvement of social relationships and learning skills. The research shows that the use of AAC systems positively affects social relationships and communication skills.

Effect of Handball Help project on positron of physically - disabled in a society
KLEMENT, Marek
At present our lives are very hasty, full of extremely ``fast things{\crqq} and we are unable to exclude the fact that anything can happen to anyone. Suddenly you can find yourself fastened in a wheel chair e.g. as a result of a car accident or a dive. Then it is important to have someone who will offer a helping hand. People are social beings. They are humanized and socialized within the human society. The same can be said about the disabled. Therefore their social position and recognition as well as their roles ranked in the society are very important. A crucial means in this situation is the system of compact convalescence.
Possibility for client{\crq}s development of personality in stationary {\clqq}Úsměv`` for persons with mental and combined handicaps
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Veronika
The care of individuals with mental and combined handicaps is so hard, that it is often necessary to place the individuals into the day centres. The client daily attend all therapies with simultaneous educating by social experiences, by the offer of interest and club{\crq}s activities. The aim of this work was to find out, what activities help to the clients of the stationary Úsměv for persons with mental and combined handicaps in Třebíč in the development of personality, motoric abilities, integrating into the society, activities that lead to the keeping and developing of intellectual powers and skills and so on. After I have acquainted with the problems I have decided to use the qualitative research. As the essential methods I have selected unconcerned observation, non-standard interview and the content data analysis of the medical and psychological documents. The main aim was to obtain the essential information on researched individuals in relation to their developments that depend on the stationary activities. The interviews were conducted with the researched individuals, employees, parents of the individuals and they are evaluated for each group. The target file was formed of 5 individuals from the stationary Úsměv for persons with mental and combined handicaps older than 15 years in Třebíč with DMO. On the basis of the pieces of knowledge I have created the hypothesis: {\clqq}Everyday, systematic and regular visits of the stationary client and usage of all activities it has offered can help to develop the personality, integrate the client into the society, obtain self-sufficiency, development of rough and fine motoric in the area of clients with mental and combined handicap and primarily with DMO.`` The results of my research confirmed that there doesn{\crq}t exist one concrete activity that would help in the client{\crq}s personality development but the complex of all activities provided by the stationary can help them and the regular contact with people out of the home environment can help with their integration into the society. Necessity of the long-term planning of the personality development of each client came out of the research and keeping of the detailed documentation about the development of their abilities and skills.
