Analysis of the influence of body position on the car's aerodynamic characteristics
Daniel, Petr ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with the aerodynamics of racing vehicle for various settings of clearance and tilt of body. First is described the theory of aerodynamics and flow. It was necessary to build the CAD model of racing car for analysis. Assembly of this model is the next chapter of the master’s thesis. This is followed by CFD analysis, where is displayed a simplified model of the vehicle. This part describes the overall process and setting in the CFD program. In conclusion, the results are summarized for each setting.
Experimental measurements of aerodynamic forces
Job, Štefan ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the effect of the aerodynamic forces on a vehicle. It contains the description of the test run of the vehicle, the proposal on how to process the measurements, the processing of the measurements themselves, and the final assessment of the results as to their accuracy and the possibility of repeating the experiment. Furthermore, this thesis contains the comparison of the effect of the individual aerodynamic features on the race car.
Computation of vehicle aerodynamic characteristics
Čavoj, Ondřej ; Porteš, Petr (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
This Diploma thesis deals with CFD simulations of flow around vehicles subjected to a crosswind with MIRA Reference Car in three body shapes with a diffuser serving as a vehicle. It contains tuning of computational grid and chosen solver settings in Fluent, mostly for v2f turbulence model. The main output of this thesis is a simulation of all body shapes in several crosswind angles in steady state and one chosen body shape with one chosen crosswind angle in unsteady state. All results are validated against measurements taken with full scale models in MIRA windtunnel.
Sport car body
Janda, Tomáš ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
The master´s thesis is focused on construction of one-man car body of sports car. Work contains aerodynamic analysis of car body too and optimization of the CAD model.
VUT100 aircraft engine oil cooling installation optimization
Mackovík, Matěj ; Zikmund, Pavel (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
The mein objective of this diploma thesis is to optimize the oil cooler of the VUT 100 aircraft, so that it complies with the CS-23 regulation and requirements of the engine producer. This is fulfilled by using of suitable oil cooler and by optimization of the air duct. Computational Fluid Dynamics approach – namely Ansys Fluent software package is used for it.
Influence of rotating wheels on vehicle aerodynamic characteristics
Oslizlo, Aleš ; Svída, David (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on computational examination of influence of boundary condition settings in CFD software on the final aerodynamic characteristics of a vehicle. The flow analysis is carried out around a vehicle with and without the rotation of the wheels and along with the stationary and moving road. Furthermore, there is demonstrated the method of the CFD model composition and there is described the influence of rotating wheels on vehicle aerodynamic characteristics.
Formula Student Car Aerodynamic Analysis
Koňařík, Josef ; Svída, David (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
The aim of thesis is to devise the body due to the current model in the 3D software ProEngineer and given by current Formula Student competition rules. Subsequently, the model will be created for the purposes of CFD software for numerical analysis of aerodynamics. Based on this analysis, the simulation will be obtained with the coefficient of air and axles load.
Optimization of single slotted flap
Dvořák, Petr ; Šošovička, Róbert (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
The main objective of this diploma thesis is to optimize the high lift device on the wing of the Phoenix Air U-15 ultralight aircraft, so that it complies with the UL-2 regulation regarding the stalling speed – 65 KPH. This is fulfilled by optimization of the slotted flap position. Methods used include the Response Surface Method and the Computational Fluid Dynamics approach – namely Ansys Fluent v6 software package. Furthermore, the paper deals with take-off flap optimization and construction of the flap deflection mechanism.
The utilization of reverse engineering in computation of vehicle aerodynamics
Rozsíval, Jan ; Forman, Matěj (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The vehicle body was measured by using ATOS 3D scanner. Measured data from the ATOS 3D scanner were applied to make a 3D model of vehicle body and to make a 3D model of whole vehicle by using computer program Pro/ENGINEER. The model of vehicle was made with a view for future use of CAD model. Surface of the vehicle model was used for computation of vehicle aerodynamics – aerodynamic static pressure distribution by using CFD software Star-CCM+.
Computation of race car aerodynamics
Vančura, Jan ; Šálený, Vratislav (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The main subject of this diploma thesis is computation of race car aerodynamics. It describes composition method of CFD model with utilization of 3D scanner ATOS and CAD software Pro Engineer. During creating this diploma thesis were found influences of additional aerodynamics components of racing car on globally axle loads.
