Utilization of cultural monuments in urban development

This masters thesis examines the role and involvement of cultural objects in the world today. Its aim is to assess the possible solutions recovery and use of immovable monuments. The thesis is determined by the general definition of cultural monuments, its legislative and institutional framework, the use and sources of funding. Following practical part deals with the previous themes in the context of the particular immovable monument, the monastery of St. Francis of Assisi in Votice. It is a sacred monument of regional significance. The outcome of this masters thesis is to determine the optimal solution of the usage of the monument with an emphasis on preserving its value.

The tribute of the monastery in Želiv to the tourism of the region

The thesis analyses, among other things, the role of the monastery in Želiv among other attractivities and historical monuments in the Vysočina region. It also analyses its share on tourism of the region. It also explores the contemporary utilization of the monastery for the commercial and spiritual purposes and it suggests new possibilities in order to open the monastery even more to public than it is today. All these new suggestions have to respect genius loci of this location.

This bachelor thesis is about history of the Benedictine monastery in Trebic according to accessible literature. In this thesis there is written general importance of the Order of Saint Benedict for our countries in the 1st half of the 13th century. A building in Trebic is described in this thesis according to its changes to this state. These changes are illustrated in appendix.

Milevsko monastery and its importance for tourism in Milevsko

The Premonstratensian monastery in Milevsko is the oldest monastery in South Bohemia and it belongs to the most valuable sights of the Czech Romanesque architecture. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the importance of the monastery for the tourism of the town, to describe its potential and to provide enough information about this monument. This thesis also tries to analyse the position of this monastery in the town and the whole region and suggests eventual solutions to support the attendance of this monument.

Position of Kladruby Monastery within the Tourism of Pilsen region

The thesis consists of information about the most significant monastic orders in Bohemia. The site itself is compared to some important monasteries in Bohemia from the view of their visit rate. The emphasis is on Teplá monastery. Teplá is compared with Kladruby from the point of view of their services, surroundings and condition of their exteriors and interiors and their accessibility. The SWOT analysis was created for both monasteries. There were interviews in form of short questionnaire made for the purpose of the thesis. This questionnaire was answered by tourists who came to Kladruby monastery at the beginning of the season 2009.
