Modelling of flows in a heat exchanger
Hudeček, František ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This thesis considers problematics of calculating and designing heat exchangers. First way of solving the designing problem is by using mathematical formulas for heat transfer, which are based on manifold measurements. Second approach is can be considered modern as the designing of heat exchangers is realized by using computing technology and appropriate software for simulation of flow and heat transfer. These computations are realized for specified type of heat exchanger that is chosen after a brief research. The results are then post processed, commented and these two approaches are compared and evaluated.
Flue gas - water heat exchanger design 2020
Pálka, Jaroslav ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this final thesis is to design flue gas – water heat exchanger with certain power and entering temperatures. This heat exchanger is designed for a gas boiler. From over-view of suitable technologies was selected gasketed plate heat exchanger. Design consists of heat, pressure drop calculation and basic design drawing.
Replacement of existing heat exchanger
Vaculík, Štěpán ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the possibilities of replacing an existing inefficient heat exchanger with a new one. In the first theoretical part a research of heat exchanger types, their operational features and suitable application is carried out. In the second practical part, the control calculation of the existing bundle heat exchanger with U-tubes is performed first, followed by the thermo-hydraulic design of a new bundle heat exchanger with straight tubes and a new plate heat exchanger. In the last part of the work, a comparison and assessment of which of the alternatives is the most suitable is made.
Heat exchanger design for waste air heat recovery
Valentová, Helena ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with heat recovery from waste air in a multifunctional hall. The thesis contains a theoretical part that shows required parameters of an indoor environment, a composition of an air handling unit and a description of its individual parts suitable for this purpose. Subsequently a design calculation of a rotary heat exchanger and a plate heat exchanger is made. The calculation contains geometry, heat transfer and pressure drop. Then the heat exchangers are compared and a more suitable option for this application is chosen. Further the thesis includes drawing documentation of both types of heat exchangers.

Heat exchanger design
Tatýrek, Lukáš ; Kudela, Libor (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The designed heat exchanger is part of a cogeneration unit, which I am considering as a possi-ble alternative for acquiring electrical and heat energy during heating season. The objective is to compile research about usable heat exchangers, pick a suitable technology for flue gas water application, calculate and design a heat exchange surface, calculate pressure drops and pro-cess the enclosed drawing documentation of the heat exchanger. For calculations, the recuper-ation gasket plate heat exchanger was chosen. The design of gaskets is nonstandard as it has been made for higher than usual temperatures. The result of this work is a heat exchanger with uncommon dimensions with a very low count of plates.
Heating of the indoor swimming pool
Musílková, Julie ; Horká, Lucie (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
Theme of diploma thesis is the heating of the indoor swimming pool. The thesis is departed to three parts. In the first part, there is a theoretical solution indoor climate of swimming pool. In the second part, there is a calculation solution of the project. Project solves heating of the indoor swimming pool. The last part is an experimental part. Theme of the experiment is measurement of temperature and relative humidity of the swimming pool.

The energy potential of pools that use geothermal energy as a natural heating source of water
Miček, Denis ; Horák, Petr (referee) ; Hirš, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to point out European Unions – low carbon economy, based on future using of renewable sources as a potential source of energy. Slovak republic is due to its position in central Europe rich in natural healing sources of water which are considered as the most perspective renewable source in this country. Chosen problem I decide to solve on specific part of Slovak Health Spa Piešťany, especially on Mirror pools located at Balnea Centre on Spa Island. According to measurements of temperature and discharge of natural healing source of water poured out of the Mirror pools obtained from Measurement and Regulation dispatching, I design the system which use this potential energy as a renewable source of heat. The research point out that obtaining energy from renewable sources such as natural healing sources of water are efficient and economical. With the help of designed system I declared the ability of using 98 % of this renewable source of energy, which reduced the costs of operation of the Slovak Health Spa by 216 € per one day. In spite of the fact that European Union accepted low carbon economy, by which countries have to reduce the amount of releasing Green-house gases over the 80 % , the results of this bachelor thesis allows us to reduce amount of gas used nowadays during the operation of Balneological departments and help us to fulfill this European Union idea.
Heating of the guesthouse
Diatel, Jakub ; Topič, Jan (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The theoretical part of this thesis is based on ideal design of solar systems and determine physical properties of antifreezing mix based on glycol in different concentration by Swiss mathematical model. In practical part is solved heating of the guesthouse by pellets. Heating of the hot domestic water was designed by solar collectors. Forced ventilation was designed with heat recovery.
