The analysis of the influence of pro-population policy on birth rates in the Czech Republic between 1970-2015
Zikmundová, Ivana ; Strejček, Ivo (advisor) ; Lukášová, Tereza (referee)
The topic of natality and pro-population policy is very actual. Due to the population aging and the associated change of the age structure, it is discussed not only about the lack of resources to finance the old-age pensions, that are the largest item of state social expenditure, but also other economic issues, that can the population decline or the change of the age structure cause. The main objective of this bachelor thesis is, based on a description of the influence of the selected factors on the birth rates in the Czech Republic between 1970-2015 and on the analysis of economic costs and benefits by having a child in 2015, to confirm or refute the hypothesis that the implementation of the suitable pro-population measures has a generally positive effect on the birth rate. The results of the research confirmed the hypothesis, although the influence of the individual factors on the birth rate was not completely unambiguous. The current fertility rate of the Czech Republic is far below the limit of simple reproduction and the numbers of women in the fertile age are likely to decrease in the coming years. Therefore, it is appropriate to choose a suitable pro-population policy. It could be more focused on the support of working parents with small children because the current social security system is more attractive to low-income families and can demotivate some individuals from entering or returning to the labour market.

Statistical analysis of the dependency time series of the natality and nuptiality in the Czech Republic
Opluštilová, Jolana ; Arltová, Markéta (advisor) ; Blatná, Dagmar (referee)
This diploma thesis is dealing with the study of dependence between birth and marriage in the Czech Republic in 1973-2016, this period is divided into two time point, due to the demographic transition and the new political regime, before 1989 (state regulated economy) and after 1989 (the changeover to a market economy). The basis for multidimensional analysis of time series is the starting point for finding the relationship or dependency between the monitored characteristics. The demographic indicator of birth rate (natality) is characterized by the number of live births and the marriage rate (nuptiality) by the number of marriages in the Czech Republic, available at monthly frequency. In the introduction of this thesis, the hypothesis of the absence of dependence (relationship) between the observed time series is determined, which will be analysed at the end of the analysis for both time series. The results of this thesis can be helpful not only to experts who were engaged with this issue in detail, but also to those interested in demographics or time series, because the prediction of these indicators will be simulated in the end of this paper.

Jiroušová, Martina ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Seasonal profile of nuptiality, natality and mortality in the Czech republic and international comparison Abstract The aim of this thesis is to capture changes in seasonality of nuptiality, natality and mortality in the Czech Republic and the factors that influence the seasonality. Despite the fact that these changes have been monitored since the 16th (nuptiality) and the 17th century (natality and mortality), the thesis focuses on the period from 1950s to 2012. Czech Republic is then compared with six other countries, with shorter reference period (2005-2012). Seasonal profile is represented by seasonal indexes and their variability is analyzed using the coefficient of variation. Seasonality of marriages was, especially in the 1950s, characterized by the accumulation of marriages in the last months of the year and in April, with later shift to the summer. The minimum was at the beginning of the period in the first quarter of the year and in May and later joined them low values in November and December. Due to superstitions about unhappy marriages, May was a month with a very low seasonal index throughout the period. The highest values of seasonal indexes of live births used to occur in the first half of the year and then shifted, as in the case of weddings, to the summer months. The minimum values did not...
