Pressure vessels pressurized water reactors
Horváth, Radovan ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Suk, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is the development of research on the topic of the pressure vessels of pressurized water reactors. Next is to outline the various design solutions of pressure vessels of pressurized water reactor. The thesis is divided into five chapters, contains 1 chart and 7 graphics. The theoretical part is dedicated to the history of nuclear energy and the development itself in the world. The description of the classifications of nuclear reactors is also included in the theoretical part. Summary of the theoretical part consists of a detailed description of the pressure vessel and pressurized water reactor itself. Practical part of this thesis contains the design of 3D assembly model and its modification in the program Catia V5. The overall model is composed of a main assembly, namely the body of the reactor and sub-assemblies, which were gradually installed.
Use of laser machines in small companies
Gorgol, Daniel ; Trčka, Tomáš (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with laser technology. In the introduction thesis characterizes small and medium-sized companies. The next section describes the types of lasers and their possible applications in engineering industry. It also describes the possibilities of using materials for laser manufacturing as well as suitable semi finished products. It points to the use of this technology in established smaller companies. Finally, it proposes the application of laser machine to expand the machinery of smaller company.
The influence of environmental conditions of the recycling of solar modules
Langer, Filip ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Jandová, Kristýna (advisor)
This thesis is focused on experiments, goal of which is to separate protective glass apart from thin layer solar panel. This could lead to less expensive and more efficient recycling. We try to achieve the separation of the glass by thawing ethylene vinyl acetate layer, which serves as insulant and bonding material. Experiments are concluded in high temperature dryer and high temperature vacuum oven on samples of thin layer solar panel, which is for the purposes of experiments cut into same pieces by water jet cutting machine. The initiatory experiments in dryer and oven are to determine value of ethylene vinyl acetate thaw point in tested samples of panel. The thaw point is determined to be 340 °C. When exposed to this temperature, the ethylene vinyl acetate thaws enough for glass to be able to be extracted with minimal physical strength. The process is accompanied by fire destruction of tedlar layer and creation of exhaust gases. Following experiments in vacuum and nitrogen environment are to test their influence on thawing process. Exposing sample to temperature of 340 °C in vacuum led to no new results. Exposing sample to temperature of 340 °C in nitrogen environment prevented fire and achieved same level of thawing of ethylene vinyl acetate while creating less exhaust gases. Even though the fire was prevented, tedlar layer was still destroyed by the high temperature. Furthermore, particles of evaporated ethylene vinyl acetate condensed on surface of module in form of dust. Following experiments studied absorption of panel and influence of accessible solvents on thawing process. It was determined that panel is able to absorb approximately 2 % of acetone, 0,4 % of isopropyl alcohol and 0,11 % of distilled water in its own weight. Experiments with modules soaked in these solvents proved no new results in thawing process. By observing samples of ethylene vinyl acetate taken from module, thawed out of module after experiment in vacuum oven and dust condensed on surface of module after experiment in nitrogen environment, it was proven that the condensed dust is indeed ethylene vinyl acetate.
Unconventional methods of processing materials for knives
Bražina, Jakub ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the issue of unconvetional cutlery materials, their application for production, and the processing of a hunting knife. The readers are aquainted with cutlery issues in the search section, where the basic characteristics and properities are written. The next part describes the various metallic and non-metallic materials and their possible properities of processing and production. This thesis also deals with the surface protection of these cutlery materials. The second main part describes construction design, material selection, heat treatment, and with surface treatment of the hunting knife.
Manufacture of centrifugal castings from iron and non-ferrous alloys
Virgl, Vítězslav ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
The goal is to give a comprehensive explanation of centrifugal casting technology. It describes the process and its parameters, the forces acting on the molten metal, the basic principles and methods. There are also mentioned the types of forms used. Emphasis is placed on the cast materials. Furthermore, there are covered all benefits and drawbacks of centrifugal method and shown some larger Czech foundries with their current production capabilities.
Plastic optical fibres and their application in practice
Bubela, Ondřej ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
The intention of this essay is familiarize readers with polymer optical fibers knowed as POF. Listing the losses factors (attenuation, dispersion) and transmition properties (bandwidth, index profiles). Describes production POF (suitable materials and methods), connecting with detachable and not detachable joints. Discuss and compares diference between GOF and POF. By measuring demostrates the complexity of compilation POF and GOF physical layers. Define the facts affecting transmission parameters. Trying to inform about economical possibilities.
Development of DC arc quenching chamber
Černohorský, Petr ; Valenta, Jiří (referee) ; Šimek, David (advisor)
Seminar thesis focuses on the issues about quenching the electric direct arc by the quanching system. Teoretical part deals with action about quanching the direct arc and with another actions which happens in direc discharge. There is described proposal and construction of the insulating quenching system. Than chamber was testing in high voltage laboratory and the results from testing was evaluated.
Piston Rings of Modern Petrol Engines
Cupák, Václav ; Maršálek, Ondřej (referee) ; Raffai, Peter (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with issues of piston rings used in modern petrol engines. The first part is focused on describing of functions and requirements with which piston rings must deal with. Next part is aimed on shapes of piston rings. Materials from which are piston rings made of are part of third chapter. For proper function, it is important to make some surface treatment. The last chapter contains surface treatment of piston rings.
