Analysis of the nutrition of senior citizens in their environment
Kaiserová, Iveta ; Starnovská, Tamara (advisor) ; Vágnerová, Tereza (referee)
Senior citizens living in their own environment make up a large and growing population group. Proper nutrition at this age is gaining in importance as it contributes to maintaining a long and quality life. Therefore, the aim of the thesis was to evaluate the nature and quality of selected senior citizens' nutrition. This aim was divided into three sub-objectives, namely 1) to find out whether the informants' nutrition corresponds to their age and health condition, 2) whether there are factors that influence their nutrition, and 3) what do they follow when purchasing food. The sample consisted of four married couples between the ages of 71 and 75, coming from the Karlovy Vary region, who agreed to participate in a qualitative research. As there are no nutritional recommendations that take into account the ages and diseases most frequently present in the sample, the need for work informants has been formulated on the basis of relevant recommendations concerning seniors and their diseases. Intake data were then obtained through weekly meal records processed in "NutriPro START" software. To obtain anamnestic data, a semi-structured interview has been used. The results show that the diet of the selected seniors rather does not meet the demands based on their age and health, because they mostly receive...
Aktivita přežvykování dojnic ve vztahu k jejich vybraným fyziologickým funkcím
RŮŽKOVÁ, Michaela
One of the most important livestock production sectors in the Czech Republic is the cattle breeding, which has always been one of the most demanding fields in the history of breeding, and its results are, to some extent, decisive for the economic success of agricultural products. Cattle are bred primarily for milk, meat and semen. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to obtain basic data and to formulate findings about dairy cows' ruminating activity in relation to their health condition, milk yield and reproduction. Regular monitoring of the rumination of dairy cows can greatly improve the state of these individual physiological functions, and this leads to maintaining and improving herd productivity. The work was carried out in the Agricultural Business Cooperative Mrákov, at the farm in Tlumačov. At present, the company manages approximately 2 470 ha of agricultural land. The cooperative mainly focuses on cattle production and breeds approximately 900 dairy cows of the Holstein breed, of which there are about 250 cows in the stables in Tlumačov. A total of nine Holstein dairy cows were included in the observation and they were divided into three groups according to observation of their ruminating activity. Group 1 was monitored for changes in rumination in relation to health status. In the second group of dairy cows, rumination was observed in connection to reproduction. In the third group, there were dairy cows in which rumination in relation to milk yield was studied. The actual observation took place between 27 January 2018 and 17 March 2018. The SCR Heatime ? PRO device was used to monitor the rumination. Thanks to the SCR collars containing an accurate sensor, the health status, reproduction and dairy yield of selected dairy cows could be evaluated. Since the SCR system evaluates, for more accurate results, not only the rumination activity but also the movement activity, the cows' movement is also monitored, as a secondary factor, in the practical part of this work. According to the evaluation of the activities and the subsequent evaluation of the dairy's health status, reproduction and dairy performance, it was found that the SCR system recorded all drops and increases in activity and gave a timely report of the dairy status, thereby verifying its functionality and its possible use in the observation of rumination and movement activity. The results revealed that all dairy cows in the first group, where the state of health was observed, contracted mammary gland inflammation (mastitis) and were subsequently treated with antibiotics. In the second group, in which reproduction was monitored, it was found that the cows number 30 and 76 had a regular estrous cycle, and the cow number 190 had an irregular cycle, but all of them were inseminated. Lastly, in the third group, where dairy cows were observed in relation to their milk yield, it was found that each of the selected dairy cows had a problem with its health status after calving, which had an effect on its milk yield.

KOVÁŘOVÁ, Tereza
This work focuses on the evaluation of the growth capacity of czech red cattles in breeding conditions, without market production of cattle. A whole herd of czech red cattles was regularly weighed. The Czech Association of Cattle Breeders provided data from KUMP, which was added to the data. In statistical processing the data were compared with the growth capabilities of meat breeds (hereford, meat simmental, charolais and limousin) kept under similar conditions. A sample of blood was collected from selected individuals and processed by biochemical methods. Statistical analysis showed that in the weight at the age of 120 days there is a statistically significant difference between czech red cattle and meat simmental and charolais. Comparing the weights in 210 days and comparing the gains, there was no statistically significant difference between any breeds. Czech red cattle thus showed very good growth abilities. It was also found that calves from the ZF JU averaged better in terms of increments than the average of the whole population as early as 2010. Herd health status was evaluated as good in terms of hoof and limb excellent. The blood test showed a tendency to stress caused by animal manipulation and stabling in wintering grounds, as in a closed stable without enclosure. The Czech red cattle has been shown to have easy births without help, which is 99% and good level of reproduction. In conclusion, the czech red cattle is very suitable for extensive breeding with a year-round stay outdoors and is capable of achieving comparable increments such as extensive breeds of meat breeds and is ideal for the production of cattle for fattening.

Chourová, Renáta ; Dzúrová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Hnilicová, Helena (referee)
Health of Migrants in Czechia - Political and Regional Perspective Abstract The submitted thesis analyses an access to and use of health care among migrants from Ukraine and Vietnam in Czechia in the regional and political context. The analysis is based both on data collection of research of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague in 2013 and further information that were gathered by author of the thesis in the course of survey questions focused on experts (doctors, representatives of medical and non-profit organizations as well as on representatives of health insurance companies and the ministries). There were used methods of qualitative and quantitative research in the analytical part of the thesis. There were also identified key factors that influence an access of migrants to their own health condition and also to the health care that were further interpreted in the regional context. The thesis reveals differences in access to the health of migrants in different regions within Czechia. The thesis conclusions are compared with the health policy standards in Czechia. Key words: health care, health condition, health policy, qualitative and quantitative research, migrants from Ukraine and Vietnam, Czechia

Puchálková, Michala ; Havránková, Olga (advisor) ; Dragomirecká, Eva (referee)
The author in her diploma theses deals with the problem of elderly suicide rates in the helping professionals' point of view in the district of Karlovy Vary. Her two key focus areas are personal experiences of the helping professionals with this particular topic and their knowledgeableness of it. Furthermore, the author validates whether the helping professionals are supported adequately enough to be able to deal with this phenomenon appropriately. In the theoretical part of the study the author presents basic introduction into the issue of suicide itself - briefly outlines the history of suicide rate and the most common motive, causes and forms of suicidal behavior. Moreover, she sketches the specifics of suicide rate among seniors and ways of working with this particular target group. Last but not least she drafts possible preventive techniques of suicide behavior among seniors. In the empirical part of the study the author explains the research methodology and briefly describes the district of Karlovy Vary. Most importantly the author presents findings concerning experience and knowledgeability of suicide rate among seniors by helping professionals gathered by research consisting of semi-structured interviews. She also thoroughly examines the professionals' point of view on individual elements...
Social support and its influence on depersonalization, job satisfaction and subjectively experienced health condition of nurses on intensive
Blahníková, Věra ; Vavrda, Vladimír (advisor) ; Vaňková, Milena (referee)
This thesis will deal with social support perceived by intensive care unit nurses (from colleagues, family, friends and superiors) and its impact on job satisfaction, depersonalization and subjectively experienced health condition. Foreign research suggests that social support has crucial effect on amount of perceived stress, coping and quality of provided health care. Lack of support can also contribute to the development of psychosomatic diseases like headache, back pain and others. Main attention will be paid to the influence of social support on depersonalization (emotional hardness, apathy towards the patient), job satisfaction and intensive care nurses subjectively experienced health condition. Basic concepts, terms, constructs and variables will be defined in the theoretical part of this thesis. Current scientific findings about effects of social support on work and various aspects of intensive care nurses' lives will be summarized. Diagnostic methods and test used by author of this thesis will be also described. In the empirical part of the thesis, author will examine relationships between variables and will test hypothesis using statistical methods, mainly correlation analysis and ANOVA test. Some of the hypotheses were confirmed and others were not. However what is indisputable is the...

MOTYKOVÁ, Markéta
This bachelor thesis is evaluating results of primary herd of rows remedial program. It i also about following the principles of correct zoohygiene and veterinary prevention, then about reviewing the influence of remedial program on reducing respiratory diseases occurrence. It also pursues parametres rows's reproduction yield in herd and follow-up pre-fattening and fattening.Given to these circumstances my goal was to evaluate the results of remedial program of whole pigs herd in ZD Bělčice, to assess following the principles of correct zoohygiene and veterinary prevention and also to evaluate the results of reproduction and loses for a year before repopulation of stud (2012) and after the repopulation (2014). I also focused on comparing the results of yield using parameteres like number of living newborn piglets, weaned piglets, lost piglets in pre-fatteing and fattening for those two mentioned years. I focused on following hygienic loop of operation, observing cleanliness and desinfection. I also observed preparation, washing, desinfection of sows, which are removed for farrowing. Next I dealt with hygiene and desinfection during veterinary interventions and with keeping feeding belts and mixer clean. I observed monitoring of regular controls and analysing food samples and then regular monitoring of samples examined for respiratory diseases in this stated herd. I observed visits on farm, respecting restrictions of accessing the herd. At the end of my thesis are all mentioned requirements evaluated.
