Family Names and Nicknames in the village of Český Rudolec

The subject of this thesis is surnames and nicknames of inhabitants of Český Rudolec. The basic material was obtained from a list of the names of local inhabitants. To get a list of nicknames, the exploratory methods were used (usually by means of an interview). The analysis of names and nicknames will be conducted using traditional classification methods. The goal of the thesis is an analysis of official and non-official names of the local inhabitants.

Surnames and Nicknames in Pacov

The thesis has been following the bachelor thesis, which engaged the onomastic analysis in town Pacov, concretely the domain of antroponomastic (last names and nicknames). Records were obtained thanks to database of registry office, next by using of interviews and by research directed to the social site Facebook. The objective is to realize the analyse in more frequently occurring last names and nicknames with consideration of their motivated origin. Analysis and classification of nicknames have been made on the basis of testimonies of citizens of Pacov and nicknameholders with the possibility to next associations. There have been incepted the complex language collection, which have surveyed the antroponomastic status of town Pacov in 2014-2017.

PhDr. Martina Šmejkalová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT The research project deals with children's nicknames from the linguistic and linguodidactic point of view. Nicknames are verbal means of realization of the communication act of addressing and a manifestation of a specific communicative strategies in the classroom. A research of such kind has not yet been carried out in the Czech Republic. We used a questionnaire as a research method. The main research was carried out in two phases and its main purpose was 1.) description and characteristics of 562 nicknames of 8th grade primary school pupils and of the same age group pupils attending "gymnaziums" (eight-year grammar schools) focusing on the motivation of the origin of the nicknames; and 2.) detailed characteristics of 45 selected nicknames focusing on the functioning (perception and experience) in school language communication, from the perspective of the productor (a group where the nickname originated and where it is used), the recipient (a bearer of the nickname) and independent evaluators. Lukáš Vlasák Bakalářská práce - abstract in English (2014) Abstract (in English): In the first part of the bachelor's thesis is described the structure of a Vietnamese name. The list of the most common given names is included, followed by grammar rules of their ussage in the Czech language. It as well describes the history of a migration of Vietnamese to the Czech Republic. The second empirical part is oriented sociolinguistically. You will find here my foundings based on questionnaires which were distributed among Vietnamese children born in the Czech Republic. The research examines what factors limit the selection of a given name. The goal of this document is to present results of the research. Found tendencies of choosing given names are interpreted considering sociolinguistics factors.

Metaphors in Partners' Calling

Diploma thesis Figurativeness of denominations in a partnership based on a questionnare survey deals with a discourse of figurative denominations in partnerhips. Firstly, the position of partnership denominations within the field of onomastics is defined and a general language characteristics of these denomations is presented. Further on, the main ideas from cognitive linguistics are presented, especially the conceptual metaphor theory which has been the basis for an analysis and interpretation of partnership denominations. These have been divided into several semantical groups in the context of which the partnership denominations are being analysed.

Family names and nicknames in the village of Vír

The thema of this Bachelor thesis arises under antroponomastics. The thesis deal with family names and surnames in the village Vír. The source materials are obtained by list of family names in the village, the surnames are ascertained by explorational methods like questionnaire and interview. The analysis and classification of antroponomastics data are anatomized in terms of study of special literature and with using of traditional classification process. The intention of this Bachelor thesis is creation of abstract of the names in the village Vír and obtaining of information about types of the family names and surnames.
