Passive and active safety features in passenger cars

This bachelor thesis deals with safety elements of all kinds in personal vehicles and their general introduction. This elements are divided and broadened and roughly described. My work contains short summary of history of safety elements. Conclusion contains evaluation of individual elements. Video with crash test is inserted in this graduate work.

This bachelor’s thesis deals with assistance systems of modern vehicles. The first part describes active and passive safety of modern vehicles. Differences of active and passive safety are mentioned in first part too. The second part attends to basic split of assistance systems. The third part presents description of some assistance systems, which are installed in modern vehicles. In conclusion, there is description of the most common sensors, which are used by assistance systems.

This Bachelor´s thesis describes functions of advanced driver assistance systems. These systems are used to increase safety of road users. The thesis deals with distribution of assistance systems, description of sensors that are used by these systems, but the main part describes the assistance systems itself. In the conclusion part of this thesis is the inclusion of driver assistance systems in the legislation and a brief look into the future of these technologies.

This paper provides an overview of basic electronic assistance systems, focusing on active safety. The centre of interest of this work is an antilock braking system (ABS), an antislip system (ASR) and vehicle stability system (ESP). It describes principles of working and the main parts of the structure. The work also deals with the modern trends in selected active safety systems such as electro-hydraulic system (SBC), a system of automatic emergency braking (AEB) and electronic wedge brake (EWB).
