Umělecké tendence v krajině
Syrová, Hana
The thesis deals with artistic tendencies in the landscape from the sixties to the present. The main attention is focused on historical basics of land art, land art formation in Czech republic and the difference between the American and the European approach in creation. An important issue is finding connections between land art and landscape architecture. The paper describes selected foreign and domestic authors who deal with creation of new public spaces, lying on the border between land art, sculpture and landscape architecture. The literature review also raises the question of applied land art, which uses forms of land art (the same means of expressions and principles) to achieve another objective (eg. solving problems and needs). This direction drifts the form of land art into the interdisciplinary area where the land meets the sociology, landscape architecture, history and other fields that have an impact on shaping of the landscape. Hence projects are created allowing the strengthening of the historical, economic, social and landscape features. It thus creates an opportunity where people can experience the landscape and feel sense of belonging. The practical part outlines the problems of landscape in the project area - Anenská Studánka, arising from landscape analysis.Solution to cultural problems is suggested through applied land art that helps us to talk to people about the problems of the landscape. As a form of applied art land a public exhibition of art in the landscape was chosen, which enables us to attract people to the landscape, to identify problems and landscape values, raise awareness about the history of the site and allow a common experience in the landscape. Applied land art was tested in project Hřebečsko - a region that (DID NOT) disappear(ed), which aimed to raise awareness of local people about the history and identity of the place they live in, and gradually restore the lost relationship between people and the landscape. The aim was to address mainly local people and create a space for meeting, sharing and forming new relationships through the shared experience. The benefit of this thesis is the realization of the project as the main organizer. The thesis thus brings practical experience and knowledge of organizing events (own know - how). The work can serve as a guide for organizing similar projects, which are transferable to other locations.
Cultural Image of Northern Bohemia in Contemporary Czech Literature
Kubelka, Jan ; Čeňková, Jana (advisor) ; Malý, Radek (referee)
This thesis focuses on literary representation of North Bohemia region in five prose works of contemporary Czech literature. These pieces consist of Grandhotel (2006) by Jaroslav Rudiš, Daniel Petr's Straka na šibenici (2015), Jakub Dotlačil's Až zhasneme (2019), Veronika Bendová's Vytěženej kraj (2019) and Tři kapitoly (2020) by Daniel Hradecký. First part of the thesis follows geographical, historical, and socioeconomic context of North Bohemia. Second part firstly analyses the difference between literary and non- literary reality, with focus on the theory of possible worlds. Furthermore, it covers key concept of space while using perspective of structuralism and narratology combined with perspective of thematology. In practical part of the thesis selected literary works are being analysed. This interpretation is based on presented literary and media theory and on the analysis of critics and reviews published in media. The aim of the thesis is to summarize individual analysis and to map, how North Bohemia region is being presented by contemporary Czech literature.
"My Sudetenland is all around here, my darling": The representation of Sudetenland area in contemporary Czech popular music and other popular culture media
BRTNÍK, Robert
The Bachelor's thesis focuses on the depiction of the border area in contemporary Czech music production. Concepts from the field of remembrance and aesthetics of nature are chosen here as key points for later analysis. The work also focuses on the history of the Sudetenland and Czech-German relations, which influenced the landscape character and perception of this area. In addition, we work here with the geography of the borderlands, but also with the reflection of socio-pathological phenomena often attributed to the Sudetenland. For a more comprehensive understanding of the artistic depiction of the given topic, a comparison of other forms of art (film, comics, literature, and visual media) is also processed here, which is the basis for later musical analysis and at the same time a form of summary or memento of the depiction of the Sudetenland, which for many years was subject to contemporary propaganda. The goal of the work is not only to find out what the musical reflection of the history and present of the Sudetenland looks like through the prism of nature, remembrance, etc., but to ascertain the degree of fetishization of the "dark" sides of the borderland and to come to some sort of compromise between the already established "mysterious" form of this depiction and the reflection of the current state of the Sudetenland, which is often forgotten, even though it is a very large part of our territory.
Changes in European landscapes. What are driving forces of the changes in European landscapes?
HRDINOVÁ, Amálie
Ústecký region is one of the most problematic regions of Czech Republic in economical, social and environmental point of view. The landscape of this region went through big changes in the past 200 years because of the growing influence of the humans. Landscapes are co-created by humans and humans identify with the landscape - these two elements influence each other. This thesis studies identification with territory of inhabitants in a town in Ústecký region that was in the past part of Sudeten. This work observes changes in the land-use and the influence of history on the landscape and tries to identify how these changes influenced the identity of local inhabitants.

Settlement development in selected area in the border region
MÜLLEROVÁ, Eva
The topic of my bachelor thesis is the development of a settlement in the selected area of one of the border regions. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the history of frontier settlements in our country. There is more specifically explained the concept of border regions, especially the terms as the Czech border region and the term Sudetenland are described in more details. The second chapter is focused on a development of rural settlements. As the first there is described the development of settlements until 15th century, then the development of settlements until 18th century and as the final, the development of settlements until 20th century. The third chapter is focused on the factors that were influencing the settlement layout as such during the history and the factors that have been still influencing the layout of these settlements up to this day. I consider the practical part of my bachelor thesis as being very important. From the title itself of my bachelor thesis, is obvious that my work is focused on border areas. That is the reason why I chose the village Záblatí, which is located just in one of the border places, in the South Bohemia, near the town Prachatice. The practical part captures the transformation of this village from the earliest written mention to its current form.
Settlement development in selected area in the border region
MATYŠ, Ondřej
Hardly anybody would search for a village Pohoří na Šumavě in the Gratzen Mountains. This place is a memorial of an eventful fate of many villages in Czech-Austrian or Czech-German borderlands. A development, which was practically identical for many villages in the re-gion, is represented through example of the defunct village. Once an impassably afforested area, only sporadically settled by only a few glassmakers or woodmen until 18th century, experienced its greatest prosperity in a period when it was a property of a noble family Bucquoy. The Bucquoys were interested in the economic use of the area, they founded some settlements, from which over time became vil-lages with thousands of inhabitants. The common peaceful life of the inhabitants of the Czech and German na-tionality was disrupted by events of the 20th century. The relations were disrupted first by the formation of the state border after the First World War, subsequently by the Second World War and the post-war order. The emergence of the Iron Curtain and the frontier zones in the 1950s was already only a final factor which drove the last inhabitants out. The defunct village was reopened only in the 1990s, since then several enthusi-asts, together with Bucherser Heimat Verein association, have been trying, to a certain extent, to run in.

Reflections by the media on the Postoloprty massacre from 1990
Hegerová, Lenka ; Nigrin, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dimitrov, Michal (referee)
The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the so-called Postoloprty massacre and its reflection by selected Czech media after 1990. The Postoloprty Massacre is one of the greatest post-war excesses committed by the Czechs against the expelled Germans. Until the fall of the communist regime in 1989, the case was a taboo, much like other crimes committed against Germans during the expulsion. Although this changed in historiography after 1990, especially thanks to the publications of Tomáš Staňek, the path to coming to terms with this tragic event took much longer in the region where the massacre took place. A memorial plaque to the victims, which had been requested by associations and individuals since 2003, was erected seven years later. The aim of my thesis is to use discursive analysis to find out how the media reported on the Postoloprty
